AMAZING FOOTAGE OF A DOLPHIN STAMPEDE
WITH VID
BY SALONI MATHUR
Watch this amazing video showing a huge pod of spinner dolphins exploding across the water.
Paloma Broadley, an Ocean Tour Operator, from New Mexico, USA, was sailing in the Drake Bay in Costa Rica when she came across this sight.
Thousands of spinner dolphins were seen surging forward in the water at a high speed of over 20mph.
This is called a dolphin stampede, which is likely triggered by a megapod of spinner dolphins either foraging for food, escaping predators, or as a social behaviour.
Paloma posted this video on her Instagram with the caption: “Dolphin explosion, a sudden stampede that caught us by surprise.”
Impressed by the video, a follower commented: “Wow!! Unreal scenes.”
Another wrote: “A moment of awe.”
And one more commented: “Absolutely spectacular!.”
