Wichita Fall – Life Is But A Dream 1969 (USA, Psychedelic, Pop Rock)

In 1969, the band "Wichita Fall's Imperial" formed in Los Angeles, California. They performed quite frequently and were well-known in select circles. Like all bands of the time, they played well-known covers and attempted to write their own material. In short, they played for themselves and weren't exactly a success. Numerous attempts to gain a record label's attention were unsuccessful. This continued until they accidentally caught the eye of renowned arranger Artie Butler. After shortening their name to "Wichita Fall" and signing with Imperial Records, they began recording an album. Producer Dallas Smith and engineer Bruce Ellison were brought in. The result of their collaboration was the magnificent concept album "Life Is But A Dream," consisting of thirteen inextricably linked songs. Upon its release, the album failed to receive the attention it deserved due to the oversaturation of the music market at the time with excellent releases, among which it was lost. This marked the end of the band's collaboration with Butler, and "Wichita Fall" disappeared into thin air.
