00:08Hello, I'm the Product Director of God Save Birmingham.
00:12I'm going to be the first time I'm going to talk to you.
00:15I'm going to talk to you about the next update.
00:20This video will be included in the last year,
00:23from last year to last year to last year.
00:24I'm going to talk to you about V-Alphabilt and V-Alphabilt.
00:29I'm going to talk to you about V-Alphabilt and V-Alphabilt.
00:35I'm going to talk to you about V-Alphabilt and V-Alphabilt.
00:41We developed a guide that provides helpful information
00:43and natural progression goals when starting the game.
00:46The guide introduces the player character, setting and premise.
00:50It serves as a tutorial that teaches the player what they can do
00:54and presents your character's thoughts and goals based on the current situation.
00:58You can think of it as a content system that fulfills the role of both tutorials
01:02and quests typically found in survival games.
01:05Next, let's look at what was developed regarding weapons and combat,
01:09which many players have shown an interest and given feedback about during the pre-Alpha test.
01:14In the Alpha build, one-handed blunt weapons have been implemented.
01:18These include clubs, maces and hammers.
01:21Since they have no blades, they're not well suited to cutting off zombie limbs,
01:25but they are effective for attacking the head.
01:27Setting them further apart from other weapon sites,
01:30they can also stagger zombies and momentarily hinder their movement.
01:34A wide range of tools will be included in this weapon category,
01:37from actual weapons like maces to everyday tools like rolling pins.
01:42We've also added a scythe as an available weapon in the Alpha build.
01:46Scythes often appear as flashy weapons in medieval fantasy games,
01:49but in our game, they're actually an agricultural tool being used as a weapon.
01:54That said, it's a tool familiar to farmers.
01:57If you swing it with more force than you would when cutting grass,
02:00it can slice through a zombie's leg or knock them down.
02:03When we were creating the swing animation for the scythe,
02:06we referred heavily to real scythe handling motions used in farming.
02:12Objects in the game now have durability.
02:15If you use weapons or tools for a long time,
02:18their durability will decrease and they'll break.
02:20You'll need to stockpile materials for repairs,
02:23or keep spare equipment on hand to survive.
02:26Durability also applies to locked doors and barricades.
02:29If you encounter a locked house you want to loot,
02:32you can kick or attack the door to break it open.
02:35Conversely, if it's your own shelter,
02:37you'll need to manage the durability of doors and barricades to prevent zombie intrusion.
02:44Weapons or tools that use blades now have sharpness to manage.
02:47If a blade becomes dull, it will be less effective for killing zombies.
02:51After spending the day scavenging and fighting,
02:54you can return to your shelter and sharpen your worn blades
02:56before going to sleep to prepare for the next day's survival.
03:01Based on feedback from the pre-alpha test,
03:03we've improved the game's aiming system
03:05so the player's melee attacks will now accurately hit the point your mouse reticle is aimed at.
03:11Combat in God Save Birmingham is designed so that the character strikes exactly where the player intends,
03:16and zombies react differently depending on which body part is hit.
03:20This encourages players to strategically choose target areas
03:24and develop precision in hitting those exact spots.
03:28Allowing the main character to precisely strike arbitrary points based on the player's aim
03:32in a third-person melee system with a behind-the-back camera and realistic animation
03:37has been a big technical challenge.
03:40This wasn't polished enough in the pre-alpha build,
03:43which resulted in a less satisfying combat experience.
03:50We've also kicked off full-scale development on the crafting system.
03:55To survive in a village overrun by zombies,
03:58securing your doors is extremely important.
04:01In the alpha build, the door system has been further enhanced.
04:04You can now lock doors with a latch,
04:06preventing zombies outside from simply pushing their way in.
04:11If a building has entrances you don't intend to use,
04:13you can fully block them with nails and boards to make your shelter safer.
04:19On the flip side, many houses in the village will now be found locked or barricaded.
04:24You'll need tools to either break or dismantle obstacles in order to get in and loot supplies,
04:29and it will take time to accomplish either way.
04:33We took our first steps towards a system that allows players to construct
04:37and place various survival-related structures.
04:40You can now build things like fire pits and drying racks wherever you want.
04:46Right now, only a few basic craftables and constructions are available,
04:50but many more will be added throughout development.
04:55God Save Birmingham is a survival simulation game,
04:58where a key part of gameplay is managing the player character's health and related status effects.
05:03In the alpha build, we've further refined the health management system
05:06and would like to share the improvements.
05:09If you leave your wounds untreated, linger too long in a cold environment,
05:14or if your body gets too dirty, you may catch a disease.
05:18Diseases range from mild illness like colds that impose small penalties,
05:22to deadly ones like plague that can kill you and end the game.
05:26When your character is bitten by zombies or falls from high places,
05:31they'll take injuries that need to be properly treated.
05:33Fuck!
05:35Apply ointment and wrap wounds, and replace wraps until wounds heal.
05:39If neglected, your character may suffer severe damage from bleeding or infection.
05:44Oh God!
05:46Your character will gradually become dirty during gameplay,
05:50particularly when they get splattered with blood from killing zombies,
05:53or take a fall in a muddy area.
05:55To clean up, you can wash yourself in the stream or a basin of water.
05:58Neglect your hygiene for too long, and your character may catch a cold
06:03or some other infectious disease, resulting in various penalties.
06:09God Save Birmingham is being developed with the goal of presenting a vivid,
06:14realistic and intricate visual depiction of the player character's movements
06:18as they engage in various survival activities.
06:20This includes animations for things like wrapping and unwrapping wounds on various body parts,
06:26pouring water from a container to wash your body,
06:29chopping ingredients into a stew pot,
06:31and sharpening the blade of a scythe or axe.
06:34During the development of the Alpha build,
06:36we've implemented a framework that allows for more diverse and detailed movement animations.
06:41We plan to continue expanding the variety of movement animations from now until the game's launch.
06:48Alphabed to develop the period of time,
06:50we've provided a lot of feedback in the previous test.
06:55We've provided a lot of feedback in the previous test.
06:55If you're interested in this play test,
06:56and if you're interested in feedback,
06:58we'll give you a lot of feedback in the future.
06:59We hope to develop a lot of feedback in the future.
