00:00Almost half of London's cyclists still feel unsafe on the capital's roads despite mass
00:06investment in cycle lanes and safety measures, Transport for London has been told.
00:11New research shows that 43 per cent of riders in London don't feel comfortable, despite
00:18the city's cycling revolution in recent years. This is a higher proportion than the north-west
00:23of England, where just over a third feel unsafe. The data obtained by law firm JMW and
00:29seen by the local Democracy Reporting Service also shows that cyclists in London face a
00:35far more complex set of challenges than those outside the capital. Around 36 per cent of
00:40cyclists believe their local area has adequate infrastructure.
