00:00A man from Gran Vier returned home on Friday, February 21st, expecting a normal day, but instead walked into a
00:08nightmare.
00:08After leaving for the gym, he came back to find the frame of his front door removed and the door
00:14left open.
00:15Inside, his home had been turned upside down.
00:19Belongings were scattered, drawers emptied, and several items were gone.
00:24When I came into my house, I saw a few of my items missing, my television, some of my video
00:32games.
00:34I have an online store. Some of the merchandise from my online store was missing, as well as some of
00:40my personal items.
00:42He immediately contacted the police just before 11 a.m., but says officers allegedly did not arrive until around 4
00:50that afternoon.
00:51When they did, they photographed the scene and lifted handprints from the damaged doorway before leaving.
00:58So far, none of the stolen items have been recovered.
01:02The victim estimates his losses at between $5,000 and $6,000.
01:07Yet, he says what matters most to him are just two things, the Samsung Note 20 and a portable hard
01:14drive.
01:15Both devices contain irreplaceable footage of his 7-year-old daughter.
01:19In the hours after the break-in, he questioned neighbors, hoping someone may have seen something.
01:25According to him, no one reported any suspicious activity.
01:30Based on what he has pitched together, he now suspects the person responsible could be someone close to him.
01:36Nobody has seen, but this morning, I saw some items that were on my desk, my vitamin C and some
01:44rechargeable batteries.
01:46They were somewhere near my house, which means the person is close to me.
01:51So I took pictures, and so I could show the police.
01:54I also reviewed the camera footage from the school next door.
01:58And I've been asking neighbors if they have any camera footage so I can review as well to see if
02:03I find out anything.
02:04Very violated.
02:07I feel angry and upset because I feel like somebody invaded my personal space and just ruined it for me.
02:15And I don't even feel comfortable staying there anymore.
02:18The experience has left him unsettled, knowing strangers had free access to his personal space.
02:24For now, he is relying on the police investigation and holding out hope that the items he treasures most will
02:31find the way back to him.
