The agriculture ministry has teamed up with the environment ministry to assess and label food products and fresh produce to show how much carbon their production emits.

00:03At an event in Taipei, farmers who've gone through assessment and adopted the label came out to support the cause.
00:32The agriculture and environment ministers say there's lots of hidden emissions in cultivation and shipping.
00:38Through checks and labeling, they say farmers can target the production steps that emit the most carbon.
00:43They're also asking retailers to prioritize shelf placement for labeled products.
00:47It's a strategy they say would stimulate demand for sustainable produce.
