00:19:32They got scuppered by the arrival of the MFTs, one of whom he will be doing combat with right now.
00:19:40And we went from a potential title match to a 10-man tag team.
00:20:01And his opponent, accompanied by MFTs, swinging at 240 pounds, Tamakonga!
00:20:14Solo Sokoa still with the Wyatt Six lantern in hand in the MFTs, a dangerous combination.
00:20:20And perhaps no one weighed among them has shown more fight and newfound weaponry than Tamakonga.
00:20:26Yeah, you're absolutely right, Joe.
00:20:28Look, we've all been impressed with Tamakonga since he's arrived with Solo Sokoa here in WWE.
00:20:34He has been exemplary in his performance as a soldier for Solo, following orders to a team.
00:20:41But 2026 has seen a very different side of Tamakonga, who stepped up massively.
00:20:47He won the tag titles from the Wyatt Six.
00:20:50He beat Shinsuke Nakamura a couple of weeks ago.
00:20:53And then last week got the job for the MFTs in the 10-man tag that you mentioned.
00:20:58So, Tamakonga is a man on the rise here on SmackDown right now.
00:21:03And another win tonight would be massive.
00:21:14He'll be dragging off and Tamakonga as this match is presented by Arby's.

00:21:22I mentioned a different side of Tamakonga with what we've seen with recent results as the Mad Dragon gets to
00:21:29work with the Chops.
00:21:29It's been devastating opponents with that running cutthroat elbow.
00:21:34Now the Mad Dragon, the target for it all.
00:21:37As you see him beating down with a series of right hands.
00:21:40Yeah, the start of this match could only ever be one word, which is intense.
00:21:44And both men bringing it right from the off.
00:21:46And far be it from me to question the character of Tamakonga.
00:21:50But I have to question the mindset of Ilya Dragunov knowing full well that there are four MFTs outside the
00:21:57ring here.
00:21:58And Ilya Dragunov stands alone.
00:22:01Surely it's only a matter of time before the MFTs involve themselves in this match.
00:22:05Yeah, it's just the mindset of Dragunov though to just say if there's a fight in front of me, that's
00:22:10where I want to be.
00:22:11No matter who's surrounding him.
00:22:12Which is often presented as a massive strength in this game.
00:22:15And it usually is, but in a situation like this, maybe you do want to take your foot off the
00:22:20gas and think,
00:22:20No, there's five of them, there's one of me.
00:22:23Probably not going to be successful here unless you come up with something quite incredible.
00:22:30Tamakonga goes running right into that right knee of Dragunov, who then delivers the big boot as well.
00:22:37Nice movement from Tamakonga, avoiding the worst of that boot.
00:22:41Incredibly nimble on his feet and vicious on the attack.
00:22:44But right now it's all about Dragunov.
00:22:46This is the high motor revving engine we see all the time from Ilya.

00:22:55Simply has no way of slowing down and has an engine that does not seem to fatigue at all.

00:23:14So an offensive spurt from Ilya Dragunov has Tamakonga, as you said, looking to regroup on the outside.

00:23:28But you know, full well, Dragunov is going to be straight back on the attack.
00:23:31And if so, this has been an absolute scramble from the off.

00:23:39You know, sometimes he winds up that Konstantin special, but instead it was Tamakonga, well scouted tonight.
00:23:47Yeah, I'll tell you, the presentation of Tamakonga, it would be easy to assume this guy isn't really particularly skillful.

00:23:57However, technically astute, high flyer, incredibly fast.
00:24:02Tamakonga really is the total package.
00:24:04And I think that plays to exactly, Wade, what you were describing of this new look, this new side that
00:24:10we've seen in recent months.
00:24:13Yeah, Tamakonga's been a lot calmer of late.
00:24:17I mean, you still get that feral growling occasionally, but there seems to be a man who's dialed it down
00:24:23a little bit,
00:24:24brought a little more smarts to the game, and it's proven highly effective in the early goings in 2026.
00:24:34Right back on the attack as he puts him in the center of the ring, and another series of right
00:24:39hands before Dragunov tries to fight back with the kick.

00:24:44And look, we talked about earlier the fact that Ilya Dragunov really wants that United States Championship held by Carmelo

00:24:50the one that Carmelo Hayes took from Dragunov a couple of months ago.
00:24:53However, Solo Sokoa has made it quite clear that now that the MFTs have acquired tag gold here, they want
00:25:00more where that came from.
00:25:02So perhaps Tamakonga is now having to think about the United States Championship himself.
00:25:08Solo has made it quite clear that if there's a strap out there with gold on it, it needs to
00:25:13be with his family.

00:25:22Yeah, I mean, getting in a trade war with Tamakonga when you're on your knees and he's on his feet,
