00:00Before taking a knee, Colin Kaepernick had to learn to stand tall in a world of
00:05white.
00:05Colin in Black and White is not at all a documentary series about American football,
00:10but rather on the fact of being black in a white family and all the problems that come with it.
00:17It's a series about what it means to grow up Black in a world that often decides who can lead.
00:22and who must stay in his place.
00:24This miniseries retraces the adolescence of Colin Kaepernick, a young athlete adopted by a white family.
00:30who dreams of becoming a quarterback, a position that has historically been dominated by white players.
00:34Through its academic and sporting experiences, the series shows how prejudices and ratios influence choices.
00:40opportunities and even the perception of talent.
00:42She connects her personal journey to a larger story, that of an NFL player who would later become
00:48a central figure in the protest against police violence by taking a knee during the American national anthem.
00:55This work serves as a reminder that Black success in sport is not limited to performance.
01:00She also talks about voice, conscience, and social responsibility.
01:04And that's why I'm presenting this work to you for Black is the Women's.
01:08Colin in Black and White reminds us that the black struggle does not begin the moment the world watches.
01:12It begins much earlier, in the looks, the refusals, the silent choices.
01:16And this series transforms the story of an NFL player into a reflection on identity.
01:21resistance and the place of black athletes in history.
