00:00Zahra Mamdani has been put on blast because he is requiring five forms of ID to be an emergency shoveler
00:06in New York City during this storm.
00:08This includes two small photos, two original forms of IDs, plus copies and their social security cards.
00:14And all of this can be found on the Department of Sanitation listing for this job.
00:18Mamdani called for the extra emergency shovelers after this last snowstorm left New Yorkers stuck in gross mounds of filth
00:27and sludge for weeks on end.
00:29And they can start at 19.14 an hour and jump all the way up to 28.71 after the
00:35first 40 hours worked in a week.
00:36But the real criticism here is the lack of intellectual consistency.
00:41Mamdani is a member of the DSA, which opposes voter ID for voting.
00:46You can, in New York City, show up to vote without photo ID.
00:50And yet, apparently you need it in order to shovel for the city.
