00:09The renaming of Kerala to Keralam has been approved by the Union Cabinet today.
00:15Well, this is the name in Malayalam and it has got the centre's nod.
00:21Today, there was a Cabinet meeting and in that this proposal was brought in and it got the nod.
00:26Remember, earlier the Kerala government had passed a resolution for this.
00:31So, they are on board with this entire renaming.
00:34Next, President Mumu will give nod to renaming of Kerala.

00:46When has this been taken and what kind of an impact can we expect?
00:51Because obviously, the state also wanted this renaming.
00:56Well, you know, this is exactly how it happens.
00:58It is the state which first gives a nod and then they send the proposal to the central government.
01:04In fact, let me tell you, there were talks that this is something that we could see happening.
01:08And now, with the central government giving the nod, we could see the name change which is happening.
01:12Now, we have seen how, you know, keeping the upcoming elections in mind,
01:16it is the BJP also which was looking at a name change.
01:19And this coming in from the state gave it a big boost.
01:22And now, we have seen how this nod has been given.
01:25With regards to this, we will see some kind of reaction coming in from the Congress party
01:29and from the other parties because they were against it.
