01:33middle brother on the 1970s hit sitcom, The Partridge Family.
01:37What are you guys talking about? Morals and values. What does that mean in dollars and cents?
01:43Fans adored him, but behind the laughter, life off camera was unraveling fast. After the show ended,
01:50substance use disorder and family turmoil took hold. Lack of steady work and financial woes
01:56soon drove him to experience homelessness.
01:59You went through some really, really, really hard times.

02:08According to Bonaduce, he slept in his car beside a dumpster in Hollywood,
02:12stepping out to sign autographs for fans who didn't know the story. That period included arrests and
02:18relapses until Bonaduce came back. Currently, he's achieved long-term sobriety and rebuilt a career
02:24in radio, proving that redemption, after Rock Bottom, is possible.

02:37William Shatner played the legendary Captain Kirk, a role that cemented him as sci-fi royalty.
02:42Captain DeCrew, those of you who have served for long on this vessel have encountered alien life
02:48forms. You know the greatest danger facing us is ourselves and a rational fear of the unknown.
02:54But there's no such thing as the unknown. Only things temporarily hidden, temporarily not understood.
02:59But that fame didn't come with security, and when the series was cancelled in 1969,
03:04his life hit a rough patch. Typecasting kicked in, gigs dried up,
03:08and a costly divorce left him broke. So broke, he lived out of the back of his pickup truck.
03:14Star Trek had been cancelled, so was my marriage, and so I didn't have any money.
03:20He reportedly cooked with a tiny stove, used portable toilets, and parked wherever he could
03:25to save money. Yet Shatner persevered, taking summer stock theater gigs with his dog by his side.
03:31Years later, his consistency and grit paid off. Reviving his career across Star Trek films,
03:38television, and endorsements. And now, celebrated as a Hollywood icon.
