Ahead of the upcoming state elections in India, the Election Commission has announced the voter list updates. The total number of voters stands at 6.41 crore, with 5.67 crore in the state. Around 74 lakh voters have been deleted, while 27.53 lakh new voters have been added to the list. The Election Commission has a continuous updation process where voters can apply online or offline to update their details. Additionally, there is an appeal provision for voters to challenge decisions made by the Electoral Registration Officer (ERO). Voters can appeal to the District Election Officer (DEO) as the first level, and then to the Chief Electoral Officer (CEO) if dissatisfied with the DEO's decision. For voters from outside the state, around 3,400 Form 8 applications have been received.
