00:00Ladies and gentlemen, the vice...
00:30.
00:36.
00:59J. Trump and First Lady Melania Trump.
01:15J. Trump and First Lady Melania Trump.
01:39J. Trump and First Lady Melania Trump.
01:49J. Trump and First Lady Melania Trump.
01:53J. Trump and First Lady Melania Trump.
02:42J. Trump and First Lady Melania Trump.
02:59J. Trump and First Lady Melania Trump.
03:00J. Trump and First Lady Melania Trump.
03:23J. Trump and First Lady Melania Trump.
03:31J. Trump and First Lady Melania Trump.
03:40And that's because you've done really good work from Thomas Jefferson to today, America's governors have been among the smartest,
03:48most creative, most talented Americans our country has ever produced.
03:52So many people, they leave other positions. I will not say the Senate, but we can say that. And they
03:57want to be governor. Would you explain that to me, Mr. Governor?
04:00And we're going to save the Great Salt Lake. You know that, right? He's got a problem. He came in
04:07to see me today.
04:08These are the kind of things, he said, sir, we have to save the Great Salt Lake. I said, explain
04:14this to me, please.
04:15And in that city called Salt Lake City, somebody said, where is it located? I said, it's located in Salt
04:21Lake City, right?
04:24So he said, we're losing water rapidly, rapidly, and it's getting smaller, smaller, drier, drier.
04:32And you tell those people we're going to work on it really hard. We're going to save it. We're not
04:36going to let that go.
04:36But that is what I call an environmental, a real environmental problem, not using hairspray.
04:42And I'm going to ruin the ozone, okay?
04:44I'm in my apartment in Trump Tower. The building is totally sealed off.
04:48And if I use hairspray, they say, sir, you're creating an environmental hazard.
04:52That's not the kind of thing we want to talk about.
04:54But saving the Great Salt Lake, that's what we're going to be doing, okay?
05:02So this was a good trip for you, Governor.
05:04And I'll tell you what, because I heard you're the most popular guy there.
05:07Now, we put out a statement, and you're in pretty good shape.
05:11But there's no coincidence that 17 governors have gone on to become the President of the United States.
05:17I'm not surprised by that at all.
05:19So whether it's reforming education, defending public safety, bringing back manufacturing from overseas,
05:25or responding to natural disasters, like I think they could call that a natural disaster,
05:31I view each of you as essential partners in our mission to make America great again
05:37and just in time for America 250.
05:40This is a big, big deal.
05:42I invite everyone in this room to bring forward ideas and opportunities to better serve our people
05:48and, in turn, never hesitate to let us know if there's anything we can do for you.
05:53This administration is open and available.
05:56I met with Governor Abbott today, and you had a couple of requests, unfortunately.
06:00He always says, very expensive.
06:01You know, it's Texas.
06:04And he did tell me I got the greatest vote in the history of Texas by far, and that's an
06:08honor.
06:08But it's Texas.
06:09It's always big dollars, but I always approve them for Texas, right?
06:12So we've taken care of business.
06:15I hope everyone here tonight will be back in Washington this summer
06:18as we celebrate the glory of the unique heritage of your individual states
06:22with a great American state fair.
06:25And you know all about it.
06:26Our national mall is going to be transformed into something.
06:30It's actually unbelievable.
06:31But first, we have to clean up some mess that Maryland and Virginia left us.
06:36We're going to be cleaning it up.
06:38It's unbelievable what they can do with incompetence.
06:42Together, we're going to make our 250th year the greatest in the history of our country.
06:47And we have a couple of other events coming up also very shortly thereafter.
06:52We have the World Cup, and we have the Summer Olympics,
06:55and the World Cup has gone out with their tickets.
06:57And more than double, they sold more than double what they've ever sold before way early.
07:02And it's unbelievable.
07:04The numbers they've done, Susie, are unbelievable.
07:06They just came back, and it's really, really special.
07:10It's going to be something that I think that there will be nothing like this period of time.
07:16You know, when the election was rigged and I missed my, what, normal second term,
07:22I said, this is terrible.
07:23But I was the one that got the Olympics, and I was the one that got the World Cup.
07:26The problem was, I was going to be president for another four years,
07:29and this was going to take place, Mr. Governor.
07:33You're doing a good job in Louisiana.
07:35We did a good job in that very special city of yours, too, with crime, didn't we?
07:39He said, you cleaned it out.
07:41New Orleans, we cleaned it out.
07:43You never had it.
07:44And your Mardi Gras was a big success, right?
07:46He said, but we have so many different things that we can be so proud of.
07:51And what's going to happen and what has happened when this horrible event took place with the election 2020.
08:00And I said, this is terrible.
08:02And then I said, you know what?
08:03I've got to do it again because we did so well in that second election.
08:07I said, I've got to do it again.
08:09And I did it again.
08:10And then all of a sudden they're saying, sir, the Olympics are coming up.
08:13Sir, the World Cup is coming up.
08:15Sir, 250 years is coming up.
08:18Now, I took credit for the Olympics.
08:19I took credit for the World Cup.
08:21And I'm trying to take credit for the 250 years.
08:24But I'm not getting away with it.
08:26I'm getting hammered.
08:28I'm getting hammered.
08:29I tried to take credit for three.
08:30But I'll take credit for two of the three.
08:32But we're going to have an incredible few years.
08:36I mean, we're going to have something special.
08:37And, you know, factories are being built all over the country at numbers.
08:41I don't know if you saw, but they did job reports just came out.
08:44And the numbers of construction jobs is at a record.
08:47Well, those jobs are at a record because they're building plants and factories all over the country.
08:52We hit – the Dow hit 50,000.
08:54When I got elected, they said it would be great if he could hit 50,000 by his fourth year.
09:00By the end of his fourth year, and I hit it by the end of my first year.
09:05And then we hit 7,000 on the S&P.
09:07And 7,000 was even more difficult.
09:09They said it's probably impossible in four years.
09:13But five or six years out, well, we did it in one year.
09:16And you're all the beneficiaries of it.
09:18So I just want to thank you.
09:19I want to congratulate you for all of the incredible work you've done.
09:23Now, we're with some very special reporters tonight.
09:27I often say the fake news, but I will not say that tonight, even though I'm on live television.
09:32I will not call you fake news, okay?
09:34As the cameras are roaring and they're saying, that guy always –
09:37But we have tonight incredible entertainment, as good as you'll ever see anywhere in the world.
09:46We have the greatest violinist in the world.
09:49And we had an event here about two months ago, and she played with Andrea Bocelli right in this room.
09:56And she blew the roof off.
09:58It was unbelievable.
10:00And when I thought of the governor's dinner, I said, we have to invite her back.
10:03So we invited her back.
10:05She's here tonight.
10:05And, of course, we have these genius military musicians who are as good as any musicians in the world.
10:13So I said to myself, the press has been relatively fair to me over the last year,
10:21meaning they've been bad but not horrible.
10:25And I said, if you'd like, should we, by vote, allow the press to watch the great finale
10:33that we have planned tonight with the musicians?
10:36If you'd like to do it, you can do it.
10:38And look at – they're all dressed up and all looking beautiful.
10:40So if you'd like – should we vote, governors?
10:43Who's in favor of letting the media watch the great finale tonight of the greatest musicians in the world?
10:51I'm in favor.
10:52Anybody in favor?
10:53Okay.
10:55Well, you win by a slight – it's not exactly unanimous, but that's all right.
10:59We understand the government.
11:01They are politicians, after all.
11:03So if you'd like to come back a little bit later, we'd love to have you.
11:06You'll see some unbelievable entertainment.
11:08So governors and spouses and everybody that's here and my cabinet members, my great cabinet members.
11:15So many are here.
11:16I just want to thank you for doing a fantastic job.
11:19Our country is back on track.
11:20We had a horrible, horrible, dead country.
11:23One and a half years ago, we were dead.
11:25Now we have the hottest country anywhere in the world, as said by many leaders of the world.
11:30And speaking of leaders, we have a great leader, a great military leader, named Pete Hegseth.
11:35And he is going to say, Grace, he's a man who turned out to be absolutely fantastic at what he
11:43does.
11:43And you know what he does.
11:44And he is – he's turned out to be an incredible inspiration to the men and women in our military.
11:53Again, a year and a half ago, two years ago, we couldn't get anybody to go into the military.
11:58We couldn't get them for the police, for the military, for anything.
12:01For firefighters, anything with a uniform on, Governor, right?
12:04And now we're setting records in every – even police departments, police departments, fire departments.
12:09But the Army, Navy, Air Force, Marines, Space Force, Coast Guard.
12:15We have waiting lists to get in.
12:17In fact, if you'd like to make those great services larger, this is an awfully good time to do it.
12:23Let's make them larger if you want.
12:25But we've never had anything like it.
12:27We went from a year and a half ago – nobody wanted to join.
12:31We could not even come close to our recruitment numbers.
12:34And now we're setting records.
12:36We have never had anything like it.
12:38And all it is is spirit and love for our country.
12:42It's very simple.
12:42So you have done a fantastic job.
12:45And, Pete, you are doing incredible.
12:47And please say grace.
12:54If you would, bow your head.
12:57Dear Heavenly Father, King Jesus, we come humbly before your throne, praising you for all the providence you've bestowed upon
13:06this nation.
13:08For over 250 years, from George Washington to President Trump, we have dedicated this nation to one nation under God.
13:16And certainly, in God we trust.
13:18And as we think 250 years ago, to George Washington on bended knee in Valley Forge, appealing to heaven on
13:25behalf of his troops in this young nation.
13:27We've appealed to you from the beginning, and may we continue to appeal to you.
13:31And tonight, we pray for our president, President Trump, give him safety, give him wisdom.
13:37Lord, we pray for our vice president, our first lady, our second lady, the cabinet members here, all the governors
13:45assembled here as well, our civil magistrates, Lord God.
13:49I ask that you give them the wisdom to see what is right, and the courage to do it.
13:55Wisdom defined as the fear of the Lord, the fear of the Lord being the source of all knowledge.
14:01And wisdom, Lord God, your eternal truths, may they rule.
14:06So, this evening, also, I would be remiss if I did not pray for our great troops.
14:11Our men and women all around the globe, defending our great nation, as they have for 250 years.
14:17Lord God, watch over them and protect them.
14:20It is in your holy name, the Lord Jesus Christ, the King of kings and Lord of lords, that we
14:25pray and we bless this food too.
14:27Amen.
14:28Thank you, Mr. President.
14:29Great job, Pete.
14:30Thank you very much.
14:31I'd like to just ask J.D. Vance.
14:33He's doing a fantastic job.
14:35J.D., could you come up and say a few words, please?
14:38Thank you, J.D.
14:46Well, I didn't expect that, sir, so I don't have anything prepared.
14:48But I will say that, like Marco Rubio and a few others, I served in the United States Senate.
14:54And, Mr. President, what I admire so much about you and the governors is that you guys actually have to
15:01make decisions.
15:02You have to live by those decisions and you have to suffer the consequences or enjoy the rewards of those
15:09decisions.
15:09The good thing about being a United States Senator, like the good thing about being Vice President, is that nobody
15:16blames you when anything goes wrong.
15:17So, to the governors here, we admire your courage.
15:21We admire your leadership.
15:23And to the President of the United States, we admire you for all the great things you're doing for our
15:26country.
15:26Thank you, sir.
15:32So, and just in closing, I wanted to — you've read a lot — we're building a ballroom for 150
15:37years.
15:38They've wanted a great ballroom at — even a ballroom, not a great one.
15:42Just give me a room, because this is a very small room.
15:45It can hold very small numbers of people.
15:48And they've wanted a great ballroom.
15:50And we're building — we're going to build the greatest ballroom anywhere in the world.
15:54There'll be nothing like it.
15:55And you're looking right here at the entrance.
15:56This is a knockout panel, exactly where the gold curtains are.
16:00And when that gets opened, there's a magnificent walkway that goes into what will be the most beautiful ballroom anywhere
16:08in the world.
16:08So, we did this — no charge to the taxpayer whatsoever.
16:12This was all donations made by friends of mine and people that are — that love our country.
16:19They love the White House, Preservation Society, the whole group.
16:23But not one penny of — and it's a very expensive building, very expensive ballroom.
16:29But beautiful, beautiful in keeping with the White House, an enhancement to the White House.
16:34But they've needed it for years.
16:35When they had a big event, when the President of China comes in, when somebody comes in of magnitude, they
16:42put a tent out on the lawn.
16:44If it rained, you were in deep trouble, because the only part of the lawn that they can do it
16:48is a very low section.
16:50So, it would be, you know, a little embarrassing when you're sitting down with the King of Saudi Arabia,
16:55and he's sitting in a puddle with four inches of water over his shoes.
17:00It was not exactly good.
17:02But we're — it's under construction.
17:04But right through — that's going to be a very famous portal for, hopefully, hundreds of years,
17:09because what we're building is really special.
17:11But it's so important to say, because nobody ever reports it.
17:14It will be totally, totally tax-free.
17:16Not one penny of tax will be donated to this.
17:20And it's going to be something that I think the country will be very proud of when it opens.
17:25But for hundreds — hopefully hundreds and hundreds of years.
17:28So, thank you all very much.
17:30And this is a great honor.
17:31And we'll talk later.
17:32And, media, we'll see you in a little while.
17:33Okay?
17:34Thank you very much.
17:35Thank you, everybody.
