00:24:21make over a basic white woman's life

00:24:28and throughout the episodes
00:24:29they were just trying to bring out
00:24:31the inner black woman
00:24:32out of the white woman
00:24:35or the inner beyonce
00:24:36as they would say on the show sometimes
00:24:38which is a hard goal for anyone to get to
00:24:42beyonce
00:24:44most of us would be lucky to get
00:24:46kelly or michelle status
00:24:49you want to make a basic white woman beyonce
00:24:55and so
00:24:57most of the episodes would be
00:24:59the white woman showing her new coaches
00:25:01their lives
00:25:03and then the coaches making judgment calls
00:25:05like
00:25:06a black woman would never play dungeons and dragons
00:25:11which was a quote that i pulled from the episode i was watching
00:25:16and my issue with the show
00:25:19isn't that it exists
00:25:21or the sweeping generalizations of what black women would or would not do
00:25:26my issue with the show is
00:25:28i don't know who would ask a black woman for life coaching advice
00:25:32as if we're at the top of society
00:25:35like we're doing well
00:25:37we have more black women in positions of power
00:25:39we got michelle obama
00:25:41oprah
00:25:42tyler perry
00:25:43like
00:25:47we're doing well
00:25:53but if i had to choose
00:25:55what type of person
00:25:56would make over my life
00:25:58so i'm more successful in the world
00:26:00i'd pick a straight white man
00:26:03every time
00:26:04you guys really know how to dominate the system
00:26:06that you built for yourself
00:26:11you know what i mean
00:26:14yeah
00:26:22show me your ways white man
00:26:25give me those secrets
00:26:29show me how to get a cab
00:26:32show me how to speak in a way that's authoritative

00:27:25because i like to make a room feel comfortable

00:27:38but i don't think that race is such a touchy taboo topic that we can't talk about it or discuss

00:28:05and it was a day where i felt particularly moved to talk about race
00:28:10and i noticed there were just pockets of people that were a little tight

00:31:44and i don't want them to absorb that
