00:01Hello everyone, I'm Kai, Creative Director of Causal Loop, and I want to show you what makes our game tick.
00:09At its core, Causal Loop is a first-person puzzle game about outsmarting reality itself.
00:18You'll use Echoes, recordings of your past actions, to solve intricate, time-bending challenges.
00:25You start with one Echo and unlock up to three as the story progresses, but it's not about how many
00:31you have, it's about how you use them.
00:34Each Echo can multitask, just like you, so solving puzzles becomes this layered game of timing, positioning, and thinking several
00:43steps ahead.
00:47It's all about constructing smart, efficient loops of cause and effect, with yourself at the center.
00:54Echoes are created through phase rifts, and once recorded, they will replay your actions exactly.
01:02But it's not just about watching your past selves do something, it's about collaborating with them.
01:09And when it all clicks, it feels pretty neat.
01:13Alongside your Echoes, you'll be working with a wide range of ancient devices, left behind by the long-forgotten civilization
01:21that once inhabited this planet.
01:23Like teleporters, plasma bridges, anti-gravity lifts, sockets that respond only to the right kind of key, different types of
01:37terminals, and many more.
01:40These aren't just isolated tools. All of them can interact with each other in surprising ways.
01:47It's all part of how we slowly ramp up the complexity and keep pushing your cause and effect thinking to
01:53new levels.
01:55But causal loop isn't just about clever puzzles. It's also about story and discovery.
02:04You play as Bael, a stranded explorer on the alien world of Tor Alsat.
02:09A planet haunted by the ruins of a long-lost civilization called the Tor.
02:16What they left behind isn't just architecture, it's technology that bends the rules of causality itself.
02:24An accident ties Bael to these ancient devices, giving him the ability to fracture reality and create echoes of himself.
02:32As an exoarcheologist Bael isn't just wandering ruins, he's piecing together the story of the Tor.
02:41You'll scan artifacts, decipher ancient glyphs, and slowly uncover what led to the downfall of this mysterious civilization.
02:57It's a hands-on way to dive deeper into the world and the secrets it holds.
03:04And our story is deeply embedded into every space you traverse.
03:10Because we're trying to create a puzzle game with a beating heart.
03:17But all that's just the tip of the iceberg.
03:20We can't wait to see you outsmart causal loop in ways we didn't even think of.
03:25Thanks for hanging with us, we'll have more updates very soon.
03:49We'll see you next time.
