00:03is a stage five of the UAE tour we are in Dubai in the Al-Mamza park smiling faces on
00:11the podium
00:11is Agdao Toro in the green points jersey yesterday's winner Johnny Milan and Antonio
00:17Tiberi who is our race leader this is today's call stage five 166 kilometers in total just
00:27about 500 meters of elevation we've got two intermediate sprints and that's about it when
00:33it comes to obstacles on the road it's the same finish as we did in 2025 when the stage was
00:39won
00:39by Tim Merlier ahead of Matteo Maluccelli and Johnny Milan and that means that today is most likely
00:52going to be a bunch kick yet again but so Vandilier in that black jersey for the intermediate sprint
00:57competition already at the front ready for another day in the breakaway and there he is but with a
01:03remarkable mate because this is Remco Evenepoel a man you would not expect in an early break of a sprint
01:10stage in the end it's his teammate Johnny Moscon who finds himself a spot in the breakaway alongside
01:16so Vandilier and Nick Sakowski fantastic flyby here for the riders and for us to enjoy unsurprising the
01:25intermediate sprints went to Sylvain Delier the 35 year old rider from Switzerland representing Alpersen
01:31Premier Tech in blue and gold it's Nick Sakowski the 27 year old from Canada and Johnny Moscon the Italian
01:37of Red Bull Bora Hansgrohe all points today went to this man meaning that his total in that
01:44intermediate sprint competition is now 40 and the gap to his nearest rival is 24 we have 32 points
01:53still to go which means that if Patrick Gumpa wants to win it he has to be in breakaways on
01:58both stages
01:59and win all the points that are on offer 50 kilometers to go a little drive by a little wave
02:06our three leaders Moscon, Delier and Sakowski they never got more than a minute and a half
02:11as the peloton is rather relaxed hello Josh Tarling
02:16but as we get closer to the finish outside the university Johnny Milan is explaining to Remco Evenepoel
02:25how to actually win a bike race in a sprint
02:29a little bit of headwind here at 30 kilometers to go with our three leaders working well together
02:35Johnny Moscon, Sylvain Delier and Nick Sakowski but then at 17 kilometers to go we had a right turn
02:42and that means there was the option to get a little bit of an echelon but with wind speeds around
02:4915
02:50kilometers an hour it was just not enough despite the efforts there of UE Team Emirates
02:54that did mean that the gap to our leaders was quickly in half
02:59one last attempt there by Nick Sakowski one of the kindest riders you will find in the peloton
03:05but it's just over three kilometers to go it's over for our breakaway
03:10enough points for Sylvain Delier and some camera time and some extra watts in training
03:16for Sylvain Delier and Moscon ahead of the classics campaign
03:20that means we are preparing for another bunch kick we have the sprint trains already gathered at the front
03:26we've got two vital points in the finale one right-hand turn at 1.2 kilometers from the line
03:32and that is here with Mark Wahlscheid attacking that corner in first place and we can hear the sound of
03:39somebody crashing
03:39and that is yesterday's number three Matteo Milan
03:43Mark Wahlscheid fantastic job same goes for XDS Astana for Matteo Maluccelli
03:48we find Wells for there Ethan Vernon of course
03:51Mats Mikkels is the man in third position
03:54and we also have Johnny Milan of course tried to get to the front
03:59now onto the wheel of Ethan Vernon to the front
04:01finding that gap on the left-hand side
04:03bobbing head absolute crazy watts yesterday over 1800
04:08and he does it again Johnny Milan wins the stage
04:11ahead of Ellen Blickraff Uno X Mobility and Matteo Maluccelli
04:18thanking Max Wahlscheid there for his good work at the front of the bunch
04:22but yet again that went for the entire Lidl track team
04:27good sprint by Johnny Milan good sprint as well on his wheel by Blickraff
04:33in the top five we also find Meskech, Skerl but undeniably the fastest on the day yet again is Johnny
04:41Milan
04:44Milan, Blickraff, Maluccelli, Meskech, Skerl, Vernon, Stefan de Schuiter, Axel Huns, Mats Mikkels and Niccolò Parisini
04:55another trip to the podium for Big Johnny and another trophy there and the medal
05:03he also gets the green jersey the points jersey no changes in the general classification
05:08still 21 seconds between Antonio Tiberi and Isaac del Toro
05:12Tejada van Eidveld and Plapp also in the top five ahead of the second mountaintop finish on Saturday
05:20it brings us to a race favourite to Jebel Javid where Alejandro Valverde won in the past
05:26Adam Yates twice Tadej Pogacar three times and two years ago the win was for Lennart van Eidveld
05:33it's a climb bringing us to 1036 metres the climb itself just under 11 kilometres 6.6% average
05:42and with a flat run in towards Jebel Javid it will be a fantastic stage to watch that will decide
05:49the general classification
05:52it was a lovely day for Jonathan Milan yet again but tomorrow it's all for the GC guys
05:57it's all for the GC guys
