01:19Ilya was supposed to get a rematch for his formerly held United States Championship last week against Carmelo Hayes.
01:26That got scuppered by the arrival of the MFTs.
01:30One of whom he will be doing combat with right now.
01:34And we went from a potential title match to a 10-man tag team.
01:55And his opponent, accompanied by MFT, weighing in at 240 pounds, Tama Tonga!

02:08Solo Sokoa still with the Wyatt Six lantern in hand in the MFTs.
02:12A dangerous combination and perhaps no one weighed among them has shown more fight and newfound weaponry than Tama Tonga.
02:20Yeah, you're absolutely right, Joe.
02:22Look, we've all been impressed with Tama Tonga since he's arrived with Solo Sokoa here in WWE.
02:28He has been exemplary in his performance as a soldier for Solo following orders to a team.
02:34But 2026 has seen a very different side of Tama Tonga who stepped up massively.
02:41He won the tag titles from the Wyatt Six.
02:44He beat Shinsuke Nakamura a couple of weeks ago.
02:46And then last week got the job for the MFTs in the 10-man tag that you mentioned.
02:52So Tama Tonga is a man on the rise here on SmackDown right now.
02:57And another win tonight would be massive.
02:59He beat Shinsuke Nakamura and Tama Tonga as this match is presented by Arby's.

03:16We mentioned a different side of Tama Tonga with what we've seen with recent results as the Mad Dragon gets
03:22to work with the Chops.
03:24It's been devastating opponents with that running cutthroat elbow.
03:28Now the Mad Dragon, the target for it all as you see him beating down with a series of right
03:33hands.
03:34Yeah, the start of this match could only ever be one word which is intense.
03:38And both men bringing it right from the off.
03:40And far be it from me to question the character of Tama Tonga.
03:44But I have to question the mindset of Ilya Dragunov knowing full well that there are four MFTs outside the
03:51ring here.
03:52And Ilya Dragunov stands alone.
03:55Surely it's only a matter of time before the MFTs involve themselves in this match.
03:59Yeah, it's just the mindset of Dragunov though to just say if there's a fight in front of me,
04:03that's where I want to be no matter who's surrounding him.
04:06Which is often presented as a massive strength in this game and it usually is.
04:10But in a situation like this, maybe you do want to take your foot off the gas and think,
04:14no, there's five of them, there's one of me, probably not going to be successful here,
04:19unless you come up with something quite incredible.
04:24Tama Tonga goes running right into that right knee of Dragunov, who then delivers the big boot as well.
04:30Nice movement from Tama Tonga, avoiding the worst of that boot.
04:35Incredibly nimble on his feet and vicious on the attack.
04:38But right now it's all about Dragunov.
04:40This is the high motor revving engine we see all the time from Ilya.
04:45Yeah, that's a good word.
04:46High motor right there from Dragunov.
04:48Simply has no way of slowing down and has an engine that does not seem to fatigue at all.

04:56Tama's got to regroup.
05:08So an offensive spurt from Ilya Dragunov has Tama Tonga, as you said, looking to regroup on the outside.
05:14He does so, it's just draping and hanging that head of Dragunov over that top rope.

05:21But you know full well, Dragunov is going to be straight back on the attack.
05:25That is so.
05:26This has been an absolute scramble from the off.
05:29Good pace being set early on here.
05:32Oh, he followed him up.
05:34You know, sometimes he winds up that Konstantin special,
05:37but instead it was Tama Tonga well scouted tonight.
05:40Yeah, I'll tell you the presentation of Tama Tonga, it will be easy to assume.
05:45This guy isn't really particularly skillful. He's just a master at the art of savagery.
05:51However, technically astute, high flyer, incredibly fast. Tama Tonga really is the total package.
05:58And I think that plays to exactly, Wade, what you were describing of this new look,
06:03this new side that we've seen in recent months.
06:07Yeah, Tama Tonga's been a lot calmer of late.
06:11I mean, you still get that feral growling occasionally,
06:14but there seems to be a man who's dialed it down a little bit,
06:17brought a little more smarts to the game,
06:19and it's proven highly effective in the early goings in 2026.
06:28Right back on the attack as he puts him in the center of the ring,
06:31and another series of right hands before Dragunov tries to fight back with the kick.
06:36Oh, that elbow right to the back of the head.
06:38And look, we talked about earlier the fact that Ilya Dragunov really wants that United States Championship,
06:42held by Carmelo Hayes, the one that Carmelo Hayes took from Dragunov a couple of months ago.
06:47However, Solo Sokoa has made it quite clear that now that the MFTs have acquired Tag Gold here,
06:54they want more where that came from.
06:56So perhaps Tama Tonga is now having to think about the United States Championship himself.
07:02And Solo has made it quite clear that if there's a strap out there with gold on it, it needs
07:06to be with his family.

07:16Yeah, I mean, getting in a trade war with Tama Tonga when you're on your knees and he's on his

07:20you're always at a major disadvantage.

11:19And Dragunov now has no clue where he's at.
11:22I don't care how intense you are.
11:24Once the mind gets wiped like that, there's very little you can do to resist.
11:29Now you're seeing everything in the arsenal of Tama Tonga as Dragunov is looking for a way out.

11:39But look at how much has been taken out of him.
11:42That's a problem.
11:43You hit a big move at this point in the match.
11:45You really need to follow up either with a pin or something immediately afterwards.
11:50And I don't know what is left in the tanker dragging off at this point.
11:53But I will tell you he's at the wrong side of the tracks and Tonga Loa providing a distraction.
11:59And that's all Tama needed.
