Transcript
00:00I hope you've had a successful summer of golf but it really doesn't need to end there.
00:04In this video we're going to run through the 10 essential winter golf items to keep you playing
00:08your best throughout the off-season. We're here at the beautiful North Ants Golf Club
00:12where I'm going to take you through those items. Let's get into it.
00:20Now the first item I feel like is an essential with winter golf is coloured golf balls. Now I
00:25might get a lot of stick this because I know people are traditionalists and might like using
00:30a white ball but a yellow ball really does help when searching for your ball especially in the
00:34thick wet rough that we get here in the UK. It's also great to see off the tee. Often the
00:39skies are
00:40quite grey and gloomy here in the winter. Of course we've picked the perfect day to be filming when
00:44there's actually blue skies but when you do have grey skies seeing that ball flight throughout the
00:49air is so much easier with a bright coloured ball. See I told you it was easy to find your
00:54ball.
01:00That was the tailor-made TP5 that I've hit there. They also offer it obviously in TP5X so you do
01:05have
01:06the option of choosing a premium golf ball that also has plenty of colour.
01:18I'm predominantly a cap guy on the golf course and when there is bright sunshine like this
01:23you may opt still for a cap but I do think a woolly hat is essential. This is the Adidas
01:28Pombini and I
01:29really like it because it has a really soft fleece lining inside to keep your ears nice and warm and
01:33I just really like the two-tone colour design. So remember if you like this product or any of the
01:38other products that you're going to see in this video I'm going to put the handy links in the
01:42description box down below for the best prices in your area.
01:50Having a flask with you on the golf course in the winter is a serious must when it comes to
01:56staying
01:56warm. Whether you're putting a hot chocolate, a tea or a coffee in there it could be the difference
02:00between getting around the back nine in level twos or falling apart because you simply can't take the
02:04cold anymore. This is a Yeti tumbler and I really love the brand. They help keep my drink boiling hot
02:10throughout my round and who knows you might even slip something else in there to enjoy with your
02:13playing partners.
02:19There's nothing worse than being stuck out on the golf course when the rain rolls in
02:22and you don't have one of these wrapped up in your bag ready to put on. This is the Juice
02:27Pro 3L
02:28jacket and what I love about this jacket is how breathable it is so you don't start sweating
02:32on those milder days but it is still raining and it's super stretchy so throughout your swing you're
02:39not restricted at all like some other jackets out there.
02:46Now mittens are arguably the most essential winter golf items to keep in your bag this year.
02:51They're perfect for keeping your hands warm between shots as obviously your hands are the only point
02:56of contact between yourself and the club. I really like these King Cobra Mittens. They keep my hands
03:01nice and warm due to the fleece lining on the inside. They're oversized as well so you could fit some
03:06hand warmers in there but they also have this waterproof padding on the front here so even if
03:10you push a trolley no moisture is likely to get in.
03:18I'm here at the 16th hole now and I've caught the group in front of me up. It's cold, I'm
03:23taking
03:23shelter from the wind in the little hut here. I think now's the time to break out the hand warmers.
03:29These are brilliant. They last up to 10 hours. I'll slide them into my pockets and who knows when I
03:34step
03:34onto the next tee I might actually even put them in my mittens for complete luxury and warmth.
03:39They might even heat my putter up as well.
03:44Now this one's pretty self-explanatory but having a decent pair of waterproof shoes is a must in the
03:50winter to keep your feet dry from not only the rain but the dew on the ground as well.
03:54Most decent waterproof golf shoes are made from leather and they not only keep your feet dry but
04:00also really warm as well. Like these Puma Royales they do come with a waterproof one-year guarantee.
04:06However I'm not sure these are going to be looking as white come the spring.
04:14Now keeping your grooves clean in the winter is essential to hitting consistent golf shots.
04:19I know it feels like you want to rush back in under the umbrella when it's pouring down with rain
04:22but making sure that your grooves are clean will help you ensure consistent contact and full flight.
04:28And the best way to do that is having a waterproof double-sided towel. This is the tight list stay
04:33dry towel and not only does it just slot on over your clubs like that acting as a waterproof cover
04:38you also have a microfiber towel on the inside to make sure that your grips stay dry but also this
04:45little panel here that acts as a little brush to make sure that you don't dirty the rest of your
04:49towel.
04:49Who knows it might be the difference between the driver staying in your hands throughout your swing
04:53and not.
04:58Okay so the snood is one of those items that you didn't know how much you needed it until you
05:03put
05:04one on. Now this is the Under Armour Storm Snood and what I love about these is the fleece lining
05:09on
05:09the inside but they also have this panel that runs across the front that is extremely breathable.
05:14So if you've got a large enough snood like this you can put it on and it will actually cover
05:19up to
05:19your nose and your mouth keeping your nose warm in cold conditions as well as your lips from getting
05:25chapped when the wind picks up.
05:32Now the next winter essential item you're going to want to have is a base layer. This is the Puma
05:37Cloudspun Tech base layer and what I love about this is how soft it is on the inside but also
05:43stretchy
05:43enough that I don't feel restricted. The base layer is perfect for keeping you warm without adding
05:47bulk so partner with this, a polo and a gilet like I'm wearing today and you're going to stay nice
05:53and mobile throughout your swing but also staying really warm on the course this winter.
05:58So there you have it they're the 10 essential winter golf items that I feel you need to play
06:02your best golf throughout this offseason. Remember to hit the like button down below as well as the

06:11I've

06:15but anyway that's all from me at North Hans Golf Club. We'll see you next time.
