The NYPD found the note in a bedroom at her Brooklyn home, along with "suicidal" journal entries on a bed, according to a report obtained by People. The report says her husband Stuart Claxton noticed their bed was made that morning, which wasn't normal, and later found Burrell unresponsive and called 911. 00:00Hey, I'm Milo Ventimiglia. I'm Ariel Kebel, and we are in conversation with Us Weekly.
00:05So this isn't our first time working together. It isn't? It isn't. It actually wasn't our first
00:10time working together. But do you remember when we very first met, that very first time a long
00:16time ago? We were just talking about this. I was trying to remember. But you said, I think it was
00:22the ice skating rink. It was the ice skating rink. It was the ice skating rink. Yeah, which happened
00:25to be Ariel's very first day filming ever in the business. Ever, ever, ever. I got the job a day
00:33before. Yeah, we were on set and we were on set. But I didn't kiss you. No, you know, that
00:39would have
00:39been that would like spun the whole Gilmore lore world into like a whole other place. They would
00:44have hated me even more because let's face it, they hated me. But I kissed Dean. What are you
00:48going to do? It's okay. Hey, it was Jared. It was Jared. True, true story. I actually accidentally
00:53called him Dean in hair and makeup when I met him because I was so nervous. And I was like
01:00playing it cool. I was like, what's up, Dean? And then later I was like. Did he ever? But
01:05did he have a reaction to that? No, he was really nice about it. Because that's who Jared is. That's
01:11who Dean is. No, I'm kidding. That's who Jared is. Yeah. And it was my first on-screen kiss.
01:16So he was also very good about that. Yeah. Oh, wow. What a day. What a first, first day.
01:23Yeah. Who knew we'd be sitting here now? Okay. So Milo, you play Tim Timmons in the film,
01:29who is obvious. This is based on the real guy. Yeah. And the real Hillary. We're the fake
01:36Tim and Hillary. Yeah. We're the Femmins. We're the Femmins. We're the Femmins. They're the
01:39realies. They're the real Timmons. Yeah. The real Timmons. Yeah. So how did you feel
01:44about playing a real character? And what I have seen, if you could share a little bit
01:51more, is how special the bond between you two has like, I mean, it seems like you guys
01:58are besties now. We've kind of become one. Right. So, I mean, and you know this from
02:04playing Hillary. It's like, they are such lovely people. Yes. Hillary and Tim are just the most
02:08amazing people you've ever met and they have such a wonderful family and the entirety of
02:15them is inspiring. I mean, being a new parent, I'm like, man, I want my kids to be like the
02:20Timmons kids and parenting style. But, you know, Tim and I, like we kind of went into it
02:27with open hearts. The responsibility we have in playing real life people, you know, and what
02:35consequences of decisions in life and what not are, it's like, hey, we're representing
02:39them. So it was important for me just to get to know Tim. God, I'm like, just like the most
02:47fundamental level of his essence and his spirit and who he was. And then, you know, pick up all
02:52the little quirks and the fun that the two of them have. And you shaved your head and I buzzed
02:57my head and I grew my beard and did all that. Yeah. And every time I looked over at you
03:01guys
03:01on set, you were like cracking up or you were playing guitar together. You were like doing
03:05his podcast or you two really, it was incredible to see you were two peas in a pod. Yeah. Yeah.
03:11I mean, it literally was like one of like the best gifts to film was like being able to
03:14like, oh, I got a new friend that I'm going to know the rest of my life. This is awesome.
03:17I really saw that. And you know, the other thing I love is like real Tim and Hillary too,
03:23like the way that they're so joyful with each other. I remember that one line. I don't know
03:27if it's still in there, but when they added for you to say, thank you for like knowing
03:33my love language because of all the joking and it's not in there. Well, it would have been
03:40great. Thank you for knowing my love language by Tim Timmons. By Tim Timmons. But I thought
03:45how cool that this couple that goes through so much grief together also shares so much
03:50joy together. Absolutely. Yeah. Absolutely. They're wonderful people. Yeah. And we play
03:56the married them in the movies. Married them. Check it out. So, okay. I mean, speaking of
04:00that, you did, you played my wife, Hillary Timmons in the movie. I can only imagine two. I mean,
04:05what, cause I wondered about this. What was the best part about being married to me and getting
04:12to be my better half? Nothing. Which by the way is phrased very much. It's a very Tim is
04:19thing to say. So what was it like for you to like love me? Yeah. Like, did you just love
04:23every second of loving me? How could you not? Well, gosh, honestly, part of why I was so
04:30excited to do the movie was I felt like we had such sweet scenes together. Like, and there
04:34was so much joking, but I have to say, I, it's also not in the movie anymore, but the
04:41scene where you throw the smoothie at me. Oh yeah. I just have never had someone throwing
04:47a smoothie at me. Deleted scenes. You're going to love them. You're going to love them. But the way
04:51that like, I genuinely was laughing. And I remember when they called cut, I was genuinely laughing. And
04:56I also knew that that led into such an intimate scene between us. Oh yeah. When they discover
05:00Hillary was pregnant and the first baby and the, the, the joy and the pain of that at the same
05:06time,
05:07the grief and the gratitude. The grief and the gratitude. And so to go from like this laughing,
05:11funny prank moment into that, I just thought, wow. So it's not in there, but in terms of memories,
05:18I mean, I really loved a lot, but I just loved laughing with you. And like, I don't know,
05:23like, I mean, you nailed me. Like you, you three, he threw a smoothie across the room. I have a
05:29mask
05:29on, so I was fine, but it was just like, it was fun to play like that. Yeah. Yeah. And
05:35that's very
05:35much the spirit of who like Tim and Hillary are. Yes. Um, it's hard to pick a single
05:41moment. Uh, we had so many, I mean, even, you know, little asides that Arielle and I would have
05:47even like by the tour bus. Oh, I know you're pregnant. That was one of, actually that was
05:53a pretty good one, but like, we're not Mike or we were Mike, but maybe you didn't hear it. I
05:59don't
05:59even know if you made the movie, but like she's pregnant and I kind of rub her belly for luck.
06:04And then do you think you rub my head for luck? Yeah. Cause you have a shaved head and then
06:08another time
06:09you kissed my belly and it was like, every take was a little different, but it just felt like we
06:14kept, and then there was another time where you were like pulling me on the bus and it made me
06:18giggle. Oh yeah. Yeah. It was, it was so playful. None of that was scripted. So you can tell them
06:24you'd love to be my, my movie husband. Oh, right. So the thing that I love most about this movie
06:28was
06:28playing, playing his movie wife full circle. Yeah. Yeah. Um, but also, Hey, the movie is, uh,
06:36it's a powerful story about music. Was there ever a song for you and like the history of your life
06:41that helped you get through a tough time? Gosh, that was a very deep question. Um, I'm probably
06:46not going to go that deep in this moment, but I'll tell you why I'll tell you why, because I
06:51swear to
06:51you, when we wrapped that film, I went home and blasted Trace Atkins, honky tonk, badonkadonk.
06:59Yes. And danced around my house on repeat and just felt so sexy. And so it maybe wasn't like
07:07getting me. Well, actually I was going through some stuff and it lifted me up. So yeah. Trace
07:13Atkins, honky tonk, badonkadonk. Oh man. By the way, that still remains one of my daughters,
07:17my infant daughter's favorite songs. Oh man. She moves her, she moves her butt. She does. She's so
07:22boogies to it. She loves Trace. I knew I liked her. Yeah, I know. Right. As much as fun as
07:28it is
07:28talking about, I can only imagine. Let's be real. Let's get back to Gilmore Girls.
07:32Totally. Give the people what they want. Okay. Um, so here's a question. How did you feel about
07:37coming back into the show to marry Dean? What was that season? I think it was, it was either four
07:48or five. Like I w I was not a regular on it. You weren't a regular on it at that
07:51point. You weren't
07:52a regular on it? No, I only did two years as a regular two and three seasons, two and three.
07:55And then I would pop back in because Amy and Dan would call me. Amy Sherman Palladino and Dan
07:59Palladino. Cause they love you. They love you. Like they just, they're wonderful people that are
08:04always just like, Hey, you want to come back? Yeah, of course. Yeah. Come on girls. Yeah, totally.
08:08I didn't realize that. Okay. Yeah. So I think I came in season three and either by season four or
08:14five, we were married, but I want to say it was four. Yeah. Um, I was surprised because we were
08:20a very
08:20new relationship. And I also think we were 18 in the show. Um, and then I was 18, I think
08:26in real
08:27life. And so I was surprised. I remember my mom was with me on set. Cause I just moved out
08:32there
08:33and I put on the wedding dress and she cried and I was like, mom, this is, you gotta stop.
08:39Wait, did your mom also go up to Jared and tell him like, Hey, this is her first wedding.
08:43First wedding. Just treat her right. Treat her right. No, she only did that with the kiss.
08:48She told Jared it was my first TV onscreen kiss and I was mortified and he loved it. Um,
08:54um, but yeah. And then it was really sweet. It was so kind of quick. I remember. And again,
09:00Jared making it, I was nervous, but I remember Jared just making it easy and fun and, you know,
09:06kind of like just another day of filming. And, um, did you pick up any, like, do you kind of
09:12get
09:12vilified for it from marrying Dean? You got some grief. People hate me. They gave you grief. Oh,
09:18it's only recently that people have said justice for Lindsay. And I'm like, thank you.
09:24Got it. So, so the younger kids coming up that are just now getting into the show. No, sorry. Oh,
09:29the ones from the original viewers, the ones that are like in their thirties or forties now,
09:33they hated you. Yes. But the kids that are watching the show these days are like justice for
09:37Lindsay. They're the smart ones. Oh wow. They're going to change the world. They're going to change
09:40the world. Thank God, you know? Um, but speaking of being on the show and our scenes together,
09:48we were talking about this too, because we had a hard time remembering what scene this was.
09:54Do you remember what scene I'm going to talk about? Go for it. Okay. Set it up. Tee it up.
09:58Okay.
09:58I'm going to, Oh, I'm going to tee it up. I'm going to tee it up. It is about a
10:03little band called
10:03Matchbox 20. Do you remember? Am I striking a ring about? The funny thing is, I mean, for,
10:09for either of us, that was how many years ago? 23 years ago? Or like five.
10:16Man, my hairline wishes it was five. Um, but, uh, I, I kind of, I kind of remember,
10:23I mean, we didn't have a whole lot of on-screen time together. There was a hockey rink. There
10:27was a few things. Cause it was kind of Jess and Dean didn't really dance much together.
10:31Well, and also it was very much like Lindsay and Dean, Jess and Rory.
10:35Totally. What's going to happen? Hashtag team Jess. Anyways.
10:40Um, but the scene in question, uh, was about Matchbox 20.
10:45Yes. I remember, uh, Jess being a bit of a jerk, um, saying something snipey about.
10:51Yeah, you said he was kind of a jerk. I didn't think that. I just thought he was like, you
10:54know, the guy in the leather jacket vibes.
10:57Well, that's the thing.
10:58Did people think you were a jerk?
10:59I, the only time in my career I've ever had somebody walk up and say, Hey, are you,
11:04are you that guy from Gilmore Girls? And I'm like, Oh yeah. And she goes, Oh my God, I hate
11:09you.
11:09I had that too. At a coffee bean.
11:12Yeah. I was at a gym. I was at an LA fitness and I'm like, Oh, thanks.
11:16Yes.
11:17And then I walked away going, I did my job right. Because Jess is kind of, that's Jess.
11:21He's just Jess.
11:22You did your job.
11:23I did my job right.
11:23I like your shirt. Is that a band?
11:26Yeah.
11:28Are they good?
11:29No, they're terrible.
11:31I wear the shirt to make people ask me if they're good so I can tell them that they suck.
11:35Oh, well, I like Matchbox 20.
11:40I'm gonna go find Rory.
