00:00:08Welcome to Match of the Dead.
00:00:55Welcome to Match of the Dead.
00:01:00When it comes to something, when I'm the cheeriest person in the studio, Danny and Troy are with us.
00:01:06Tottenham were without a win in their last five Premier League games,
00:01:08ahead of the visit of Manchester City, who began the day seven behind the leaders' Arsenal.
00:01:13Commentary from Jonathan Pearce.
00:01:16How can Tottenham's league form differ so drastically from their Champions League success?
00:01:22And how can Manchester City sustain their challenge on four fronts with so many injuries?
00:01:27Spurs are stricken by even more fitness problems as they look for their first league win in six games.
00:01:33Danso and Spence are now sideline following Wednesday's win at Eintracht Frankfurt.
00:01:38Nicky van der Ven is again missing with a hamstring strain.
00:01:41Eleven out in all.
00:01:42Dragosin gets his first start of the season.
00:01:45Gallagher eligible for this, of course, comes in.
00:01:48As do Bissouma and Solanke.
00:01:49Four changes in all.
00:01:51Sar and Odabair rotated to the bench.
00:01:54Three changes for Manchester City for their Champions League win over Galatasaray.
00:01:57When Gay and Semenya were ineligible.
00:02:00They come in.
00:02:01As does Rodri, who was banned in the week.
00:02:03Marmush and Ake go to the bench.
00:02:05Doku is injured.
00:02:06Pep Guardiola has lost more league games against Spurs than anyone else.
00:02:13Rumours of a fan's walkout here after 75 minutes and other possible demonstrations.
00:02:19The atmosphere inside the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium is anxious.
00:02:26Thomas Frank has won just four of his last 22 home Premier League matches with Brentford and Tottenham.
00:02:33He's got an identical record across his last 11 games with Brentford as his first 11 with Spurs.
00:02:41Here's Cherki.
00:02:43Haaland got balled over off the ball.
00:02:44Cherki goes for goal and scores.
00:02:46Manchester City are ahead inside 11 minutes.
00:02:50Too easy that.
00:02:51Far too easy.
00:02:53Maybe focus was deflected into the middle where Haaland was knocked off the ball in the run.
00:02:59The referee had checked it.
00:03:02Cherki allowed to go on.
00:03:04It's really poor defending.
00:03:06Dragosin should have been close.
00:03:07They should have stopped the shot getting away.
00:03:11Tiny little deflection.
00:03:12Don't think it had any impact on it at all.
00:03:15A frustrated man.
00:03:17A worried man.
00:03:19You can talk about managers, coaches, tactics until the cows come home.
00:03:25But if players don't work enough on the pitch, they won't pick up results.
00:03:33Here's Cherki.
00:03:36Oh, miss it.
00:03:37She tried the cross to Semenya.
00:03:39Takes it on an extra yard.
00:03:40Brilliant from Cherki.
00:03:41Superb.
00:03:42And nearly the finish.
00:03:44Semenya was three yards to his left-hand side waiting for the ball to be offered up.
00:03:50Clear deviation of the ball in flight.
00:03:52That's going in.
00:03:53He's safe, Tottenham there.
00:03:56In paper, when you see the eight-point gap between Spurs and the relegation zone, you think, well, that's comfortable
00:04:02enough.
00:04:03But not with the fixes they've got coming up.
00:04:05Not unless they can start winning league games.
00:04:07Manchester United away.
00:04:09Newcastle at home.
00:04:10Arsenal at home.
00:04:12Three London derbies in a row, actually.
00:04:14Fulham and Palace follow that.
00:04:16When Spurs pick the ball up here, or hereabout, they've got to have a forward showing for it.
00:04:22And they're not, at all.
00:04:24Back come Manchester City.
00:04:26Leonardo Silva, back to Semenya.
00:04:272-0.
00:04:30Spurs gave it away again.
00:04:32And Manchester City have punished them again.
00:04:35And his incredible run continues.
00:04:39That's not a manager's fault.
00:04:41Not this goal.
00:04:42Played out poorly from the back.
00:04:44Really poor clearance away.
00:04:46And gobbled up by Semenya.
00:04:49Leonardo Silva did really well to get there and set up Semenya.
00:04:54Manchester City in the box seat, arriving at half-time.
00:04:59He knows the importance of a second goal.
00:05:03Half-time change for Tottenham Hotspur.
00:05:06Pabit Saar is coming on.
00:05:09And Christian Romero has not reappeared for the second half, which means they will go to a back four.
00:05:14Saar will strengthen the midfield, where they have simply lacked numbers and have not been able to compete.
00:05:22It's a good run.
00:05:23Couldn't release Kolomuani because he was offside.
00:05:26Off-cushion, off.
00:05:27Comes to Kolomuani.
00:05:29Simons.
00:05:30Will it come down to him?
00:05:31The opener sings up here.
00:05:32Udagi!
00:05:33Good stop by the goalkeeper.
00:05:35Tottenham's best moment in the game.
00:05:39Simons with the vision.
00:05:41Udagi very nearly the execution.
00:05:43Good goalkeeping by Donnarumma.
00:05:44Strong hands.
00:05:46Ooh, Thomas Frank needed that to go in.
00:05:52There's Pabit Saar.
00:05:55Interesting, 80 minutes at Afton.
00:05:57Saar for Senegal.
00:06:00And 90 minutes against Eintracht in the week.
00:06:03That's a good run here.
00:06:04Clever run by Solanke.
00:06:06Needs to square it.
00:06:07But he's popped it in and Tottenham are back in the game.
00:06:11An old credit to them.
00:06:12He had the option to square it.
00:06:14But he wanted to do what centre forwards need to do.
00:06:18Score his goal.
00:06:20Ooh, that's tight for onside or offside.
00:06:26He did really well.
00:06:28Did he pop it in or did it go in off a Manchester City defender?
00:06:30Let's have a look.
00:06:32Checks back against Kuzhinov.
00:06:34Good balance there.
00:06:39And as he kicked through Gaye, it might have gone in off Gaye, you know.
00:06:44He won the goal, Solanke.
00:06:48I think Dominic Solanke gets that goal.
00:06:53Here's Xavi Simons.
00:06:55It's five on five.
00:06:58Golomouane went down.
00:07:01Spurs are appealing, I think, plaintively.
00:07:07There's a little shove there.
00:07:09That's why it's been checked by VAR.
00:07:11Was it enough for a decision to be given?
00:07:17That goes Gaye.
00:07:19That goes Gaye.
00:07:20Under out wide to Nico O'Reilly.
00:07:24That's given away by Manchester City.
00:07:27Gallagher into the middle.
00:07:28Oh, it's in.
00:07:29Brilliant improvisation from Solanke.
00:07:33And Manchester City have squandered a 2-0 lead to a revitalised Tottenham Hotspur.
00:07:39I don't know what Thomas Frank said at half-time to them.
00:07:42But whatever he said to them, it worked.
00:07:44Because this is a completely different Tottenham Hotspur side.
00:07:48Where has this Spurs team been this season in the Premier League?
00:07:52Gallagher positive, hungry, drove on.
00:07:56And that's brilliant from Solanke.
00:07:59The way he hooked it on.
00:08:00That's a reach for it.
00:08:03That's brilliant.
00:08:082-2.
00:08:09You'd have seen this coming.
00:08:15The players here approved in this second half.
00:08:17They want to play for the Lily White shirt and that man.
00:08:22Easy doggy.
00:08:24They are now playing the Spurs way.
00:08:29Tell.
00:08:33Oh, that's a great shot and a brilliant save.
00:08:36To the right, Chabby Simox.
00:08:40Manchester City indebted to their goalkeeper.
00:08:43Big loopy deflection.
00:08:45Splendid goalkeeper.
00:08:48Only two defeats in 17 games in all for Manchester City.
00:08:52Against Boudou.
00:08:53Unexpectedly against Manchester United, who were the better team.
00:08:57Too many draws.
00:08:58Sunderland away.
00:08:59Chelsea at home.
00:09:00Brighton at home.
00:09:01They've got 60% of the ball in the last 10 minutes.
00:09:04Manchester City.
00:09:06As they look for a winner that they desperately need.
00:09:10O'Reilly.
00:09:14Harland heading it across.
00:09:16Oh, that's a good run in there by Rinders.
00:09:19Harland with the set-up header.
00:09:21He could see Rinders coming.
00:09:23Very nearly got to it.
00:09:25That's just wide.
00:09:28A little step over from Bernardo Silva.
00:09:31Decent crossing looking for Harland.
00:09:33Well defended.
00:09:45Harland pulled down, it would seem, in there.
00:09:47Lots of pushing and shoving.
00:09:50It looked to me as if Harland was dragged down.
00:09:52There's too much manhandling going on inside that penalty.
00:09:55Dragosin's just got his hand round his waist.
00:09:58And the VAR tells the referee any contact on Harland was before the ball was in play.
00:10:04The check is complete.
00:10:12What an extraordinary game of football.
00:10:15Manchester City totally dominant in the first half.
00:10:18And then it changed in the second half.
00:10:19And a 2-2 draw might just relieve some of the pressure on Thomas Frank.
00:10:24Because his players were played for him in this second half.
00:10:26Spurs 2.
00:10:27Manchester City 2.
00:10:30What did you say to them at half-time?
00:10:33A few things.
00:10:34We changed the system to a 4-4-2.
00:10:37That was one thing.
00:10:38We had to adjust the high pressure a bit.
00:10:41So we were even better on that.
00:10:42And we wanted the ball back there better.
00:10:45And then I think offensively.
00:10:48Especially playing a little bit more behind them when we could.
00:10:51Put them under bigger pressure.
00:10:53Chris hasn't been flying.
00:10:54It can't have been easy for you.
00:10:55Oh, I preferred going more smooth.
00:10:58I think that's fair to say.
00:11:00We can create something, match it together.
00:11:02The players and the fans.
00:11:05When we are united as we were.
00:11:07Especially in the second half.
00:11:08He stays so positive.
00:11:10Even when he could easily not be.
00:11:14You know, after the first half.
00:11:15And not letting our heads drop.
00:11:17So yeah, he's been great.
00:11:18And obviously changed a couple of tactical stuff.
00:11:20Which obviously helped as well.
00:11:21It's a game at this stage of the season 2-0 up.
00:11:23A team that's been struggling.
00:11:25That you needed to win.
00:11:26Yeah, definitely would have helped our course.
00:11:29But it's not over yet.
00:11:3014 games to go.
00:11:31So anything can happen.
00:11:33How much of a setback is this?
00:11:35Well, yeah.
00:11:36We set back.
00:11:37But still we are there.
00:11:38And yeah, move on, move forward.
00:11:40So we're still 14 games out of points.
00:11:42And thinking next one.
00:11:43There's going to be hiccups, aren't there?
00:11:44For all the clubs.
00:11:45Hiccups, bumps in the road.
00:11:47Between now and the end.
00:11:47Well, we'll see.
00:11:48We'll see.
00:11:50It was a cracking game, wasn't it?
00:11:52And it was very much a game of two halves.
00:11:54With City dominant in the first.
00:11:56They were composed.
00:11:57They were controlled.
00:11:58They looked dangerous.
00:12:00I thought Pep set them up really, really well.
00:12:02It didn't look like a team that had only won one of the last five.
00:12:06They looked like a team on a mission who were trying to chase Arsenal down.
00:12:08But the way Pep set them up, I was really impressed with.
00:12:12And it caused Tottenham all sorts of problems.
00:12:13This is with the ball.
00:12:15Call it a 4-2-2-2.
00:12:18Is that enough twos?
00:12:19Does.
00:12:20Yeah.
00:12:20Rodri.
00:12:21I like Richie Beno.
00:12:22Rodri and Bernardo Silva.
00:12:24You've got O'Reilly and Cherky coming in off those wide areas.
00:12:27And then the split strikers in Haaland and Semenyo.
00:12:30And this is a little warning.
00:12:32A little sign of intent in the first minute.
00:12:34And the problem Tottenham had continually is they were being outnumbered.
00:12:37Now, without the ball, this was where it was clever.
00:12:39O'Reilly and Cherky tucked in next to Rodri.
00:12:41Bernardo Silva was allowed to jump and help the front two on the press because he's so good at it.
00:12:46Wins it off Pesuma.
00:12:47Obviously, it's sloppy, but it's typical Bernardo Silva.
00:12:50And then Cherky, you keep seeing him in this inside right position where he gets the goal.
00:12:54Where a doggy doesn't know whether to go in and get him.
00:12:56The centre half isn't sure whether to come out and get him.
00:12:58And here we go again with the possession, with the ball.
00:13:01There's those positions trying to create those little pockets of space.
00:13:06And when it goes in and they play these little triangles, you can see Pesuma and Gallagher struggling.
00:13:12Do I press? Do I drop? Who's my man?
00:13:15Time and time again.
00:13:16Because they're outnumbered.
00:13:17Because they're outnumbered.
00:13:18And also, let's be fair, Tottenham are missing a lot of players who are playing out of position.
00:13:22They haven't played together some of these lads before.
00:13:24And that does come into play.
00:13:26But there again, Silva and Rodri trying to drag people out of those midfield areas to try and come and
00:13:32press them.
00:13:32They miss it out into Haaland.
00:13:34Cherky this time, again in that inside right position.
00:13:37Romero this time has tried to go in and track him, but loses him.
00:13:40I mean, Cherky was outstanding in the first half.
00:13:42His skill is great to watch.
00:13:43You don't see it from this angle.
00:13:45It's a brilliant save from Vakari.
00:13:48And then the second goal, without the ball again.
00:13:51So here's the little tweak.
00:13:52Bernardo Silva jumps from that holding roll.
00:13:54Goes in nice and tight.
00:13:57You've got the two midfielders alongside Rodri there.
00:13:59Nice and compact in the middle.
00:14:01And when Rodri wins it back, fires it into Bernardo Silva.
00:14:04Great little touch.
00:14:052-0.
00:14:05And then you think, how many?
00:14:07Well, we did, didn't we, at halftime?
00:14:09We thought it might be four or five at that stage, because they were that dominant.
00:14:13It was too easy.
00:14:14I think, actually, I don't want you to think, Troy, but sometimes if you're so good in the first half,
00:14:19mentality drops for the second half, and you think you've already won the game.
00:14:22As a striker, you started to think, well, can I get two, three, or four in this moment?
00:14:25But, again, you've got to give a little bit of credit to Tottenham.
00:14:27They did have a little tweak, which we're going to show in a minute.
00:14:30But for Man City, it was really, really poor.
00:14:31I thought they should really kick on.
00:14:33But now you're going to see the little changes that Thomas Frank talks to.
00:14:36But for me, the biggest change here, and it's not very difficult, is play forward, run forward.
00:14:41Just keep an eye on Archie Gray at right back, and keep an eye on Erling Haaland.
00:14:45Again, Erling Haaland is fantastic, but this is summed up the two teams for me.
00:14:48Look, play and go.
00:14:50Watch Haaland in the back there, just walking.
00:14:53Archie Gray powering forward now.
00:14:54It's at 2-0.
00:14:55They're winning first balls, they're winning second balls.
00:14:57They never won any of these 50-50s, as it breaks now to Udagi on his left-hand side.
00:15:01He gets a wonderful strike.
00:15:03Haaland, 18 seconds later, still hasn't made it to the halfway line.
00:15:06Now he has to run back because he knows.
00:15:08Again, it just showed a little signal of intent to what we was watching in there.
00:15:12Again, Mark Gill, again, we've taught this as kids.
00:15:15Head it away, he does.
00:15:16He heads it into the area.
00:15:17O'Reilly and Nico Gonzalez are favourites to this.
00:15:20They're ahead of Conor Gallagher.
00:15:21But look at the difference.
00:15:22This is why they brought Conor Gallagher in.
00:15:24Runs over the two tackles.
00:15:25Now Solanke's going forward.
00:15:27Xavi Simón will talk to the ball.
00:15:28And what a finish that is, by the way.
00:15:31Again, he could have that 500 times more.
00:15:33He would never do it again.
00:15:34But he won't care.
00:15:35He did it this one time.
00:15:36Then Simón's driving forward.
00:15:38Look, again, we don't really give him too much credit.
00:15:41But it's a wonderful striker's run now.
00:15:43Takes Mark out of the way.
00:15:44Now they're going through.
00:15:45Should Simón give Odebert a better ball?
00:15:47Yes.
00:15:47It doesn't matter.
00:15:48They're finishing the actions now.
00:15:49They're making City feel nervous.
00:15:51And this just encapsulates the whole thing.
00:15:55Archie Gray goes tight.
00:15:56Playing right wing back.
00:15:57Naturally a midfielder.
00:15:58Going against Marmouche.
00:15:59Look at the two here.
00:16:00Ryan Dessert-Harland.
00:16:01Complaining.
00:16:02We want the ball.
00:16:03Look at Xavi Simón's on the opposite end.
00:16:05Give me the ball.
00:16:05Let's go and win.
00:16:06And that was all down to Thomas Frank.
00:16:08And I think he deserves a lot of credit for giving these players that confidence.
00:16:12And that performance completely changed the atmosphere in the second half.
00:16:15So this is a very simplistic football fan question.
00:16:19Pass forward.
00:16:20Run forward.
00:16:21Win tackles.
00:16:22And cross the ball.
00:16:24And it doesn't matter what the football club is.
00:16:26You will have your fans on side.
00:16:28Why don't they do it more often?
00:16:29Well, I think sometimes nervousness can overtake you.
00:16:32And you overthink what you're doing.
00:16:34And you're too worried about tactics and staying in position.
00:16:37And protecting what you've already got at the start of the game.
00:16:41I was at the Villa game in the FA Cup, actually.
00:16:43And they did the same.
00:16:44Poor in the first half.
00:16:45Got outplayed.
00:16:46Same today.
00:16:47Second half.
00:16:48When you're losing, you play free.
00:16:49You've got nothing to lose.
00:16:50So the question mark is, why can't Tottenham players have that mindset and play with that freedom and that energy
00:16:57and that belief at the start of games?
00:16:59I think it will come the more good results they get, like today.
00:17:02Pep Guardiola, not in our interview, but in his Sky interview, was disappointed that the first goal was allowed to
00:17:08stand from Spurs with Solanke, who does catch Mark Gay.
00:17:12Where are you two on this?
00:17:16It's a really weird one.
00:17:17I think we've had the games being reffed now.
00:17:20We would argue, and at the time we all felt, that it was a foul.
00:17:24But we're all glad for football that it's not a foul.
00:17:27I think the problem we're going to have now is that Solanke's clearly going to score.
00:17:31Mark Gay gets his foot across.
00:17:33And I think from a defender's point of view, if we're being fair, they'll say every time we do that,
00:17:37when it's roles reversed on a striker, it's always a penalty.
00:17:41So my only challenge to referees now is, I think you've got that one right, but stop giving fouls now
00:17:46for the same thing in the opposite term.
00:17:49Because if it had been overruled, we would probably be sitting here tonight, and there would probably be others going,
00:17:56well, you've re-reffed that.
00:17:57You've forensically frozen it to see who touched what and who kicked who, and that wasn't what it was in
00:18:03for.
00:18:03So sometimes they can't win, can they?
00:18:05Well, it's a great point you make, and one of your few.
00:18:08Thanks.
00:18:08But I was thinking about this.
00:18:10It's not about an hour of this show to go.
00:18:12Yeah.
00:18:13I was thinking about this.
00:18:15I would be angry if they disallowed that.
00:18:17Yeah.
00:18:18And the more I think about it, it's like, that's what we want.
00:18:20We want to see sensible decisions.
00:18:22OK, you've got to use the law as well.
00:18:24But Troy is right.
00:18:25If you are on the City side, and Pep sees that, he's thinking, hold on, I see penalties for this
00:18:28every week.
00:18:29So that's where they've got to find the balance.
00:18:31Be fair both ways.
00:18:32Just a quick one on the side trace.
00:18:34People keep going on about Arsenal's nervousness.
00:18:37Manchester City have now won one in six in the league.
00:18:40I think we give Arsenal that because they haven't won it, right?
00:18:43And until they win it, that's going to be the constant question.
00:18:45But the one thing is, I can't see Arsenal losing two games.
00:18:49Never mind whether City can win out.
00:18:51I just can't see Arsenal losing.
00:18:51In current form, can you see City closing a gap?
00:18:54Not really, no.
00:18:55And they've got a tough one next week, haven't they, to go to Anfield?
00:18:57So, no, I think Arsenal are in real, real control now.
00:19:01Right, next, Manchester United against Fulham and Stephen Wyeth.
00:19:05Watch this one.
00:19:07After rousing wins over traditional foes, the profile of opponent for Manchester United changes,
00:19:13but not the size of the task.
00:19:15Fulham's form in the last six weeks is unsurpassed.
00:19:18They, too, are energised.
00:19:20The injury to Patrick Dorgou means an enforced Manchester United change.
00:19:24Mateus Cunha, their match winner at Arsenal, is his replacement.
00:19:28Bruno Fernandes marks six years as a United player this week.
00:19:32One change for Fulham, too.
00:19:33Samuel Chakwezi, who scored in the win over Brighton, replaces Kevin.
00:19:37Raul Jimenez makes his 100th Fulham appearance.
00:19:40New signing Oscar Bob isn't involved.
00:19:46It is sixth against seventh in the Premier League.
00:19:49Not sure too many would have predicted that this would be a game all about the race for European places,
00:19:53even two months ago.
00:19:56Sandro Martinez.
00:19:58Freedom to carry the ball forward for Manchester United.
00:20:02Maynou, who helps it on to Ahmad, who looks dangerous.
00:20:06And is forced to save out of Bernd Leno.
00:20:10Lovely effort from Ahmad.
00:20:13Bernd Leno made sure he got plenty of force behind.
00:20:17Got that ball well clear.
00:20:19Well, a third successive win for Michael Carrick would match the best return that his predecessor, Ruben Amorin, enjoyed.
00:20:29Ahmad.
00:20:31There is Cunha away from Cuenca.
00:20:35He recovers, but not sufficiently to prevent the awarding of a penalty.
00:20:43Sliding in Jorge Cuenca.
00:20:46And now disbelieving that that has been a judge to foul, Marco Silva agrees with his defender.
00:20:54Well, first there was a hold of the shirt.
00:20:56That started outside of the penalty area.
00:20:59A challenge, however, after that.
00:21:03Appeared to be reasonable.
00:21:06Certainly a decent chunk of the ball there for Jorge Cuenca.
00:21:10The current thinking is that this is not going to be a penalty, and instead will be a free kick
00:21:18outside the penalty area.
00:21:21At the review, the 415 can make some holding effects outside the penalty area.
00:21:28The final decision is a free kick to Manchester United.
00:21:31The celebrations come from the small pocket of Fulham supporters.
00:21:36Marco Silva relieved that his initial interpretation has been proved to be correct.
00:21:43His heart would have skipped a couple of beats, I'd have thought.
00:21:48Bruno Fernandes with the free kick.
00:21:50And Manchester United have scored, and it is Casemiro who has got it.
00:22:00Didn't dwell upon the decision to overturn the awarding of the penalty.
00:22:06And have found a way through from the free kick instead.
00:22:09Beautiful delivery from Bruno Fernandes.
00:22:11Good leap it was from Casemiro.
00:22:14And that looks to be a very popular goal scorer, Casemiro.
00:22:18Who will be departing United at the end of the season.
00:22:21He has his fifth of the campaign to celebrate.
00:22:23And Manchester United lead Fulham 1-0.
00:22:27Marco Silva's badgering of the officials.
00:22:30In and around that VAR check for the penalty.
00:22:34Has earned him a yellow card.
00:22:38Manchester United, the second half of the game.
00:22:41Away from claiming the three points that take them back into the Premier League's top four.
00:22:47Iwobi.
00:22:49And Wilson.
00:22:51He goes to ground.
00:22:53Challenge from Shaw.
00:22:54Right on the edge of the penalty area.
00:22:56Just a little period where Fulham have managed to rattle Manchester United.
00:23:02Don't have to cast your mind back very far to know what Harry Wilson is capable of from this sort
00:23:07of area.
00:23:08United have been warned.
00:23:09Are they prepared?
00:23:10In from Wilson.
00:23:11Oh, sharp save.
00:23:14Not yet away.
00:23:15Berger goes to ground as he tries to turn the ball back towards the target.
00:23:21Manchester United have survived.
00:23:23Thanks again to their goalkeeper, Senna Lamans.
00:23:32Smith Rowe at full stretch.
00:23:35Couldn't control the ball.
00:23:37Casemiro.
00:23:39Mateus Cunha.
00:23:45Exceptional.
00:23:48Didn't have much to work with.
00:23:51But how about the nature of a truly emphatic finish?
00:23:57Manchester United have waited patiently for their moment.
00:24:00Mateus Cunha has stepped forward and delivered a goal that gives them daylight now on Fulham.
00:24:10Three in five for Mateus Cunha for Manchester United.
00:24:15And that is edging them towards a third successive Premier League win.
00:24:19Manchester United two, Fulham nil.
00:24:27Smith Rowe hasn't managed to wriggle through that number of challenges.
00:24:33Free kick, what a bad reward for the endeavour of Emil Smith Rowe.
00:24:38Milo Card has been produced as well.
00:24:40It was Casemiro who grabbed the hold of Emil Smith Rowe.
00:24:44Fulham need something and you feel they need it soon.
00:24:48Raul Jimenez.
00:24:50Into the wall and then eventually the ball breaks for Cuenca.
00:24:56And Fulham do have hope.
00:25:00Milo Jimenez with a free kick that didn't stand much chance of getting through the United wall.
00:25:06But Chakwezi got first to the loose ball.
00:25:11And it deflected off Lissandra Martinez.
00:25:15There is a check to determine whether or not it is maybe Chakwezi offside from the free kick.
00:25:26It is offside.
00:25:27The goal won't count.
00:25:29It was Chakwezi when the free kick was struck.
00:25:32He was just beyond that critical Manchester United defensive line.
00:25:36And Fulham's hopes of a stirring fight back have suffered a setback.
00:25:44Neynou.
00:25:45Ahmad.
00:25:47Culling it towards Shesko!
00:25:52Mere seconds.
00:25:54After coming on.
00:25:56Benjamin Shesko with the chance to make it 3-0.
00:26:00Manchester United would have been in the clear.
00:26:04Berger.
00:26:07For Raul Jimenez.
00:26:09Who's in.
00:26:11Lammans is there once more.
00:26:13But it will be a penalty.
00:26:16Berger's pass.
00:26:17For Raul Jimenez.
00:26:19Who couldn't beat Lammans.
00:26:21But the assessment was that he'd been taken out by Harry Maguire.
00:26:27Raul Jimenez against Senna Lammans.
00:26:33Picks the top corner out quite beautifully.
00:26:37The stuttering run.
00:26:39But nothing wrong with the finish.
00:26:41That was precise.
00:26:43And a big finale.
00:26:45Has now been set up.
00:26:48It's Manchester United 2.
00:26:49Fulham 1.
00:26:52More often than not recently.
00:26:54Manchester United have beat Fulham.
00:26:56But regularly they've had to work incredibly hard for it.
00:26:59That will be the story again today.
00:27:04Fassie.
00:27:07Kevin.
00:27:10Sessignor.
00:27:12For Kevin.
00:27:14It's a stunner.
00:27:18And in stoppage time at the end of the 90.
00:27:21Fulham look to have fought back for a point.
00:27:26Manchester United collectively stunned.
00:27:33Manchester United pushed back.
00:27:36And unable to stop Kevin getting a shot away.
00:27:39But what a shot it needed to be.
00:27:43Swap passes with Sessignor.
00:27:46And then arced the ball.
00:27:49Quite beautifully into the top corner.
00:27:52A despairing dive from Lammons.
00:27:55Who's done so much personally to keep Fulham at bay today.
00:27:59Powerless on that occasion.
00:28:01From 2-0 down.
00:28:02Fulham have got the game back to 2-2.
00:28:13Oh, wonderful twist and turn.
00:28:16Manchester United might not be done yet.
00:28:18Sessko.
00:28:20They've found a way.
00:28:25No sooner were Fulham level.
00:28:28The Manchester United through Benjamin Sessko.
00:28:32Hit back at the other end.
00:28:34And now it is like the Manchester United of old.
00:28:40Bruno Fernandes.
00:28:42Turning into a dangerous area.
00:28:44Sessko.
00:28:45Able to control.
00:28:47Turn.
00:28:48Set himself.
00:28:49And pick his spot.
00:28:51Wasted a chance to make it 3-0.
00:28:54He did not flop his opportunity to make it Manchester United 3-2.
00:29:02I thought we were going to have to answer a lot of questions.
00:29:06And I thought we did that for a lot of it.
00:29:09Boys put in a big effort and really desperate to win the game today.
00:29:13To go up.
00:29:14To come back.
00:29:16Similar to last week.
00:29:17And be pegged back.
00:29:18To then go again.
00:29:19It was so delightful for Ben.
00:29:22You know.
00:29:22He's to come on and have a moment like that.
00:29:24It's a huge moment for us all.
00:29:26But for Benji getting that goal in front of the Stratford end.
00:29:29There's not many better places.
00:29:30If there's not a better place for me.
00:29:32To win a game of football like that.
00:29:33There's no doubt there was talent here.
00:29:35What's changed since Michael Carrick's come in?
00:29:37Obviously, as you can see, that improvement just changed by being compact.
00:29:43Being in every single moment.
00:29:46Not letting everything go through the middle.
00:29:48And that's helped us a lot.
00:29:50And you can also see that it benefits from results.
00:29:53And especially when we can take the ball so we can go in front.
00:29:55The story of the game, in my opinion, started with that first goal from United that started
00:30:01from a terrible decision from John Brooks.
00:30:03That penalty that was given.
00:30:05Bad, completely bad decision from him.
00:30:07I understand that they are now saying completely different things.
00:30:10But all the feeling that we have, our players, people that were watching the game, the penalty
00:30:16was given by the tackle, definitely.
00:30:19So do you feel they've re-refereed that moment?
00:30:22It's my feeling.
00:30:23Definitely.
00:30:24And after the feedback that I got from the Ford official that the referee will come to
00:30:29the screen.
00:30:31And after Sunday, they changed completely the decision.
00:30:33And they gave a free kick.
00:30:35You have to accept.
00:30:36Even if my opinion is difficult to accept, you have to accept.
00:30:40Okay, let's deal with this first of all.
00:30:41So Marco Silva's opinion was that the penalty was given for the tackle, for the slide tackle,
00:30:47where he actually got the ball.
00:30:49Now, we are told that the communication between the referee and the VAR official was all about
00:30:56the pull.
00:30:57And if we follow that, then they've done this correctly.
00:31:02If that was the conversation on the pull.
00:31:05Yeah, and at the start, let's talk about a really good player from Cunha.
00:31:09And then Cuenca will say he's done well.
00:31:11But again, as an attacking player, when you're pulling me back, it slows me down here.
00:31:17It'd be Cunha to allow you to get back.
00:31:19If he doesn't pull, Cunha's away from him.
00:31:21So I think it ultimately becomes the right decision.
00:31:24The biggest issue I have with all of this is the way that Fulham celebrated this, high-fiving
00:31:29and not doing their jobs.
00:31:31The danger's there.
00:31:32Again, they give a good decision here because it's outside the box.
00:31:35But at this moment now, Jimenez, I've been in this position.
00:31:38You see Casemiro, you know he's good.
00:31:40You're the last man in the zone.
00:31:41You've got to block him.
00:31:42He's making his way out towards the other end.
00:31:45And Casemiro comes in and just crashes another goal for Man United.
00:31:48Because just to clear that up, because they were looking at the pull, that means they could
00:31:52then say, no, it was outside the area and give it as a free kick.
00:31:56That's why they've followed that.
00:31:58Marco Silva is saying if they were looking at the tackle and not the pull, then that's
00:32:03a different matter and it would have been a drop ball and it would have been all.
00:32:06That's his argument.
00:32:06That's his argument.
00:32:07We don't know what he's been told.
00:32:08No.
00:32:09But we are told that all the communication was on the pull.
00:32:12So they got it right.
00:32:13OK.
00:32:13Let's move on to the game itself.
00:32:16Is it, this may be an unpopular opinion, but are Manchester United going to miss Casemiro?
00:32:24Yes, I think they will because, well, first and foremost, form is temporary, class is
00:32:29permanent.
00:32:30He has had some bad spells, but this is a highly intelligent footballer who knows what
00:32:35he's doing and has been around the block.
00:32:36And today when United were struggling a little bit, he was the calm one.
00:32:39He was the one making things happen and also doing the little bits of quality defensive
00:32:43work that you should be doing when you play in these defensive areas.
00:32:47We can see here, reading situations, protecting the ball.
00:32:50If you play him in the right formation with the right people around him, which sounds
00:32:55really obvious, by the way, but not everyone's done that recently, little tackles like that,
00:32:59you're going to get the best out of him.
00:33:00Now, we know he knows how to snuff out danger, but the calmness on the ball is something we
00:33:06know he's good at as well.
00:33:07But today, especially, those pivotal moments in attacking areas were so important because
00:33:12United weren't as good as they were in the last two weeks.
00:33:15That's a phenomenal header.
00:33:17Irrelevant of how it's come about.
00:33:18It's a brilliant header.
00:33:19And his confidence was growing.
00:33:21He was spraying it about, dictating the play.
00:33:24And as I said, in a game where they needed someone to step up, because Bruno wasn't at
00:33:29it today, to be honest, unlike him, because he's been outstanding.
00:33:32He did.
00:33:33He stepped up and he started dictating things.
00:33:35And he had the two really important moments for United to get them up in this game and
00:33:40give them the platform to go on and win it.
00:33:42But just there, spotting the danger.
00:33:44Doesn't stop and admire it.
00:33:46And when he gets into these positions here, he's got this capability, that clever little
00:33:50pass.
00:33:50Good finish from Matthias Cunha.
00:33:52And then we'll see here on the slow-mo.
00:33:54That's a great angle.
00:33:55Yeah, the old look away.
00:33:58Everyone loves that one.
00:33:59Well, not everyone.
00:34:02I've had coaches in the past tell me not to do that.
00:34:05Why?
00:34:05Why would you not want to do that?
00:34:06I think when you're young, you get told because you're taking the mickey or you're thinking
00:34:10you're better than you are.
00:34:11You know, he's earned the right, hasn't he?
00:34:13But he was outstanding.
00:34:14And I think even though he said he's leaving, he still wants to give everything for the
00:34:19club and get his team in the top four.
00:34:21And they'll be able to rely on him from now to the end of the season.
00:34:24We'll look at the bigger picture of what both teams did well or badly in a moment.
00:34:28But as far as the winning goal is concerned, you can both credit United and criticise Fulham,
00:34:35can you?
00:34:35Yeah, absolutely.
00:34:36And again, I'm going to take this first one here.
00:34:38Just look at this from a Fulham point of view.
00:34:41Bruno Fernandes looked.
00:34:42Bassi could see him.
00:34:43Bassi now tries to get tight.
00:34:46For me as a player, and Danny will tell us about, you've got to put him in the stand
00:34:49at this point.
00:34:49Take the yellow card.
00:34:51Nothing happens.
00:34:52Or maybe you just pull him over.
00:34:53Yeah, Anderson.
00:34:55Anderson leaving his leg back there.
00:34:57I never knew Danny Murphy never made tackles.
00:35:00But at this point now, let's look at it from a Benjamin Szczesko point of view.
00:35:03Again, really good play.
00:35:05He's on the move.
00:35:06It's not a great run.
00:35:07This touch is really important because there's nowhere else he can put it after that.
00:35:11Kills the ball in front of him.
00:35:12I mean, just see his body can't turn fully.
00:35:14So it's a wonderful hit.
00:35:16And then, just to think of where he's been.
00:35:18Two in 17 under Amerind.
00:35:20And now four in four since Amerind's left.
00:35:22And he hasn't started the last two games.
00:35:24So it's really great for him and really great for Man United.
00:35:26Also, as well, you know the attitude of the lads who come on who haven't been playing.
00:35:30I think it was Cunha who's come off the bench and scored.
00:35:32Sesko.
00:35:33I mean, that takes good management to keep the players on board and motivated in that respect.
00:35:37It was a different type of challenge for them, wasn't it, today?
00:35:39As everybody has said in the build-up, it's different to the City and Arsenal games for United.
00:35:45Fulham did cause them problems.
00:35:47United were probably, what, the least impressive of their three so far under Carrick?
00:35:52Yeah, I think so.
00:35:53Fulham were really good, deserved some credit.
00:35:55I thought United got caught in between a little bit.
00:35:57The last two games, they've been able to sit in and counter and then press on the odd occasion they're
00:36:02set.
00:36:02Today, I think sometimes they went to press.
00:36:05Sometimes they were a bit, oh, should we drop off?
00:36:07And they got played through a bit too often in the first half.
00:36:09They were better in the second half until Casemiro went off.
00:36:12They lost a bit of composure when they brought him off.
00:36:15But sometimes it doesn't matter how you win.
00:36:18Keep the momentum going.
00:36:19Keep the conference going and keep the buzz with the fans going.
00:36:22But then from a Fulham point of view, if they can finally ever get a striker or a couple that
00:36:27can score consistently,
00:36:28they're so good going forward.
00:36:29Just that last little bit of quality, they'd be right up there.
00:36:32They're only six points off where Man United are now.
00:36:35So I think they can look at it with some positives as well.
00:36:38But a little bit more investment, they could be right up there.
00:36:41Right, next.
00:36:42Aston Villa in third against the Brentford side coming off back-to-back defeat.
00:36:46Simon Brotherton was at Villa Park.
00:36:49After slipping up in their last home match in the league against Everton, Villa have responded by winning three in
00:36:55a row.
00:36:55But we'll be well aware of the threat Brentford pose, having lost to them twice already this season.
00:37:01Villa gives second debuts to two returning players today.
00:37:04Tammy Abraham and Douglas Luiz arrived this week and go straight into the team.
00:37:08Ollie Watkins misses the game with a hamstring injury, picked up in the Europa League on Thursday.
00:37:14Brentford go with Sepp Vandenberg at the back instead of Nathan Collins.
00:37:18And there are starts two for Jordan Henderson and Dango Watara,
00:37:21with Mikkel Damsgaard and Yegor Jamaljuk dropping to the bench.
00:37:26Well, what a season his team are having so far.
00:37:29Just the two home defeats, most recently against Everton in their last match here in the league,
00:37:34also beaten by Crystal Palace in the early going.
00:37:38And he wouldn't have put much money on Buendia when winning an aerial duel there,
00:37:41but that's what he did.
00:37:42And here goes Tammy Abraham.
00:37:45First threat on Kelleher's goal.
00:37:48Such a productive spell at Villa in the Championship.
00:37:52Seven seasons ago, Abraham much earlier in his career when he was a Chelsea player.
00:37:5726 goals he scored in the season that Villa won promotion back to the Premier League.
00:38:02Well, there's Villa's captain, John McGinn.
00:38:04He recently had a knee operation.
00:38:06He'll be out for a few weeks with that.
00:38:11He's dropping into a little pocket of space, finding Bogart.
00:38:15Takes some clear of Jenson.
00:38:18Villa will have a free kick.
00:38:20Best sequence of play so far in the match from the home side.
00:38:25Douglas Luiz on his return to Aston Villa at the heart of it.
00:38:34Luiz floating it in.
00:38:35Here's a chance.
00:38:38Falling at the feet of Esri Conta.
00:38:40And he knows it was a good one.
00:38:42It was a golden opportunity for 1-0 there.
00:38:46Lovely free kick from Luiz.
00:38:50Mattson.
00:38:51Now Sancho trying his luck on the near side.
00:38:54Support from Mattson if required.
00:38:58Mattson across.
00:39:00Nobody there in Claret and Blue.
00:39:01Bogart tries to get there.
00:39:03Played by Jenson.
00:39:04Luiz tries to win it back.
00:39:06This is excellent from Matthias Jensen.
00:39:08Into Kevin Shada.
00:39:09And Cash challenges.
00:39:10And again the flag is up on the near side.
00:39:14Now what's happened there just off the ball between Shada and Cash?
00:39:21Now Torres complaining to the German international.
00:39:25It's a straight red card.
00:39:28Shada goes.
00:39:29Brentford down to 10.
00:39:30With just over three minutes remaining in the first half.
00:39:34It's a push back into the gut of Cash, I think, after the challenge.
00:39:40Watch Shada when he goes to get up.
00:39:43I think his legs push back into the midriff of the Villa player.
00:39:47There.
00:39:48There.
00:39:49There.
00:39:50There.
00:39:50Well, I think that was a deliberate action about which he can have few complaints.
00:39:56Brentford down to 10 in a match in which they have been very competitive so far.
00:40:04And by Luiz in the air.
00:40:06Headed by Henderson.
00:40:08Kayoda.
00:40:08Luiz finds Rodgers.
00:40:11Interception from Vitali Janelt.
00:40:13Adja.
00:40:13That's a good-looking ball from Christopher Adja.
00:40:17Dango Watara.
00:40:18Important block by Torres.
00:40:19Dangerous not clear.
00:40:20Brentford have the lead.
00:40:21Dango Watara.
00:40:24Just a couple of minutes after going down to 10.
00:40:29Brentford take the lead.
00:40:30It's the first time they've scored in the last three games.
00:40:34Watara scored the only goal of the match when the two sides met in London in September in the reverse
00:40:40fixture.
00:40:41It was his debut for the club.
00:40:43And guess what?
00:40:45He's done it again.
00:40:46Villanelle.
00:40:47Brentford won.
00:40:48The 10 men lead almost on the stroke of half-time.
00:40:53Wow.
00:40:55The thunderous look on Unai Emery's face there.
00:40:59Four minutes and 17 seconds between the red card and the goal.
00:41:04It's Jadon Sancho into Tammy Abraham.
00:41:08Big block by Adja who celebrates as though he scored.
00:41:12The late first half flurry from the home side here to try and get back into it.
00:41:19It's two years since Villa last lost successive Premier League home matches in February 2024.
00:41:29And he'll have time for his team to come back in this way.
00:41:36There he did rather well in the end there.
00:41:39He'll have to put himself into a corner.
00:41:42Here comes Sancho.
00:41:44Here's an opportunity to run at Coyote.
00:41:48Support arriving.
00:41:49It's still Sancho.
00:41:51Good save.
00:41:52Tammy Abraham.
00:41:531-1.
00:41:56Back in the Villa Shard for the first time since the season they won promotion in 2019.
00:42:03And he's marked it with a goal.
00:42:07They will check the incident at the other end of the field to make sure that everything was above board
00:42:13there.
00:42:13But Sancho's shot and Tammy Abraham first to react to put the ball beyond Quibby and Kelleher.
00:42:22But the ball may have gone out of play down at the corner flag at the other end of the
00:42:26field.
00:42:27So here it is.
00:42:29Watch the ball completely out of play.
00:42:32That's what they're checking.
00:42:34Referee waiting for a final word from Paul Tierney.
00:42:39Now the advice is going to be to the referee to disallow the goal because the ball was out of
00:42:44play.
00:42:45That is the call.
00:42:46It's still Brentford who lead Villa 1-0.
00:42:48And there's the exasperated figure of Aston Villa's manager.
00:42:55Brentford looking to secure what will be a first Premier League double over Villa.
00:42:59Having also knocked them out of the Carabao Cup this season on penalties.
00:43:07Sancho still probes searching for an opening.
00:43:10Back out to Douglas Luiz.
00:43:12Falls at the feet of Buendia.
00:43:13It's out to Cash.
00:43:14Who brings the save from Kelleher.
00:43:16Rodgers goes for the chip.
00:43:20Goal kick.
00:43:22Decent stop there from Kelleher.
00:43:24And then Morgan Rodgers trying to put it over the top of the goalkeeper.
00:43:30What a result this could be for Brentford on the verge of their fourth away win of the season.
00:43:36First win at Villa in the Premier League.
00:43:41Rodgers whipping it in.
00:43:43Cash trying to come in at the far post.
00:43:49Cash challenged by Hickey as he tried to shoot.
00:43:56It's a big blow to Aston Villa.
00:43:59It's Brentford's fourth away win of the season.
00:44:02They've done the double over Villa.
00:44:031-0 home and away.
00:44:05It's finished at Villa Park.
00:44:06Aston Villa nil.
00:44:07Brentford one.
00:44:09We did everything to try to score.
00:44:11We did everything to try to stop them.
00:44:12Not considering more transition.
00:44:14And we knew it was the only way to try to combat the result.
00:44:20But we didn't achieve it.
00:44:22And we must have set.
00:44:23The turning point of the game is the red card.
00:44:26And that changed the flow of the game.
00:44:28But the way in which we dug in today was immense.
00:44:31It changed the flow of the game.
00:44:32It didn't change the resolve of your team.
00:44:34No.
00:44:35And it never will, I don't feel.
00:44:38Because of the characters that we have in the squad and the team.
00:44:41It's very much a collective effort in everything we do.
00:44:44Selfless in the way they approach the game.
00:44:46Whatever we ask of them.
00:44:47Thiago has been a prime example today of how much you have to dig in.
00:44:51Everybody left themselves out there today.
00:44:53They were sensational.
00:44:55First ever win for Brentford at Villa Park.
00:44:57And also a third away you were in the last four matches.
00:45:00There's a solidity about your team this season.
00:45:02Yeah, there's solidity.
00:45:04There's a grit.
00:45:05There's a scatterness.
00:45:06And there's growth.
00:45:08There's visible growth in the team.
00:45:09Week to week.
00:45:10Month to month.
00:45:11How they approach games in a fearless manner.
00:45:14And I like watching us.
00:45:16He likes watching them.
00:45:17I think a lot of people like watching Brentford.
00:45:19And we'll talk about them in a moment.
00:45:21There are decisions to get into as well in this game.
00:45:24Red card, first of all.
00:45:26Well, it's a bit soft.
00:45:27He can't argue.
00:45:28If you put your studs on any player now with the cameras and with VAR,
00:45:32on any part of the body, with any amount of tempo,
00:45:35even if it's a little gesture, a little push, you're in trouble.
00:45:38So he's stupid.
00:45:40But look at the amount of rolls from Matty Cash.
00:45:42You don't want to see that.
00:45:43We've got too many players trying to stick to other players up in the Premier League.
00:45:46He's not the only one, Matty Cash, by the way.
00:45:48But his foot's on him.
00:45:50The studs are on him.
00:45:51And then he pushes him away.
00:45:52And I think a little...
00:45:54It's really, really painful, that though.
00:45:55Oh, I'm sure.
00:45:56A little...
00:45:57But your point is, and I reckon fans of every team will be able to name two or three of
00:46:02their own players who roll around.
00:46:04But we moan a lot.
00:46:06We have a go at officials and analyse their red cards and yellow and should have done this.
00:46:09But we're not quick enough to jump on the players for trying to stick to other players up, which is
00:46:13cheating.
00:46:14You know, and as I said, he's not the only one, but he should be having a look himself in
00:46:17the mirror tonight.
00:46:18That is an over-the-top reaction from a very, very minimal contact.
00:46:23We don't want to see it.
00:46:24So much to admire about Brentford then.
00:46:26Let's get on to their performance.
00:46:27Keith Andrews likes watching his own side.
00:46:30What did you like about them?
00:46:32Yeah, I like everything about them.
00:46:34I think the way that they set up defensively without the ball is fantastic.
00:46:39Again, to a lot of people now, they'll be going, oh, there's a lot of the pitch.
00:46:41They just really suffocate this Aston Villa team.
00:46:44And as we let this develop, again, you'll start to see that the biggest problems for Aston Villa is that
00:46:49they have to come through the middle of the pitch with Buendia and with Morgan Rodgers.
00:46:54So they've just set up and said, right, we'll let you have the outside, no problem.
00:46:58But you're not letting Buendia or Rodgers get on the ball.
00:47:00And we're going to make sure that this happens.
00:47:02But here's the really interesting part here.
00:47:04Shade and Thiago.
00:47:05Thiago, again, is blocking the space into the midfielder.
00:47:07But he's going to be the one who sets the press.
00:47:09As he goes now, Shade goes.
00:47:11And again, just look here.
00:47:13It looks like Watara doesn't know what he's doing.
00:47:15But he's actually in a position where he can jump to both.
00:47:17And it forces now an awkward pass.
00:47:19And all that Luiz can do there is just turn it down to the side.
00:47:22Again, they get the ball back.
00:47:24All this, by the way, is when they've got 11 men.
00:47:26Again, look now, the defending.
00:47:28I am in the middle of the box there.
00:47:30Not my cup of tea, this.
00:47:32Especially when you're a defender.
00:47:35No one came to see you.
00:47:36But I love the fact that he's doing it anyway.
00:47:38Coyote against Buendia.
00:47:40Look, this is really good.
00:47:42Gets tight now with Buendia.
00:47:44Keeps going.
00:47:45Doesn't dive in.
00:47:45Doesn't set himself short.
00:47:46How many people would stop that?
00:47:47Morgan Rodgers drops.
00:47:48He goes again.
00:47:49Stays on his feet.
00:47:50Wins the ball.
00:47:51This now is when they go down to 10.
00:47:52The same principles still apply.
00:47:54It's kind of a 5-3-1.
00:47:57Sometimes it was a 4-4-1.
00:47:59But again, they're going to give the outsider the pitch off and say,
00:48:01No problem.
00:48:02If you want to go wide, like Morgan Rodgers has to now to try and get on the ball,
00:48:06we'll back our fullback, especially Coyote.
00:48:09So you want to come in on that right foot like you have done before?
00:48:11No chance.
00:48:12Win a foul.
00:48:13Really good.
00:48:14Really composed.
00:48:15And when you've got really top centre-backs who want to head the ball there,
00:48:18see Nathan Connors in the middle, organising, telling people what to go,
00:48:22we'll say no problem.
00:48:22Go around the outside.
00:48:23If you want to cross it, we'll deal with it.
00:48:25Again, are you at the back post?
00:48:27Good first contact.
00:48:29Yama, look, he goes and gets after it.
00:48:30Look, puts pressure on it.
00:48:31They're not sitting in and hoping.
00:48:33They're waiting again.
00:48:34As it comes, look again now.
00:48:35Good defending by Rico at the back post.
00:48:38Look now, how's Harvey Elliott expected to score there?
00:48:41The body's just on the line.
00:48:42Everybody's in.
00:48:43And they're just all because of this man.
00:48:45And he's done a wonderful job, Keith Andrews.
00:48:47And I'm really proud.
00:48:48You played with him at Watford.
00:48:49Yeah, I did a season with him at Watford.
00:48:51For a season.
00:48:52You tell us what he's like.
00:48:54Exactly what you see.
00:48:55He's a straightforward, straight, honest man.
00:48:57Again, he'll give you everything.
00:48:59He'll help people even when he was coming to the end of his career.
00:49:02But he's also in that position where he's done the hard yards.
00:49:04And he will demand respect and honesty.
00:49:06And that's why he enjoys watching that team.
00:49:08Has he got a bit of fire as well?
00:49:09Because I remember playing against him and he could dish it out.
00:49:13Yeah, he can.
00:49:13But he's also calm and measured.
00:49:15He wants to believe in his team.
00:49:17He wants that honesty and that trust.
00:49:18But you won't want to cross him at the same time.
00:49:20And I do believe a little bit of fear is always good for every player.
00:49:24And on the Villa disallowed goal, VAR went back 19 seconds.
00:49:28Which is the longest they've gone back for any decision in the Premier League
00:49:32since it was implemented.
00:49:33Do you agree with it?
00:49:34I didn't at first because it just felt wrong.
00:49:38And I felt for Tammy Abraham.
00:49:40And it seemed a little bit petty.
00:49:42But the ball's gone out of play.
00:49:45There's no doubt.
00:49:46Brentford are 10 men.
00:49:47They're pushing in.
00:49:48One of the only, you know, a few times they get up the pitch.
00:49:50So they play quickly, Villa.
00:49:52The ball hasn't gone out.
00:49:53The ball's rotated over to the left-hand side.
00:49:56Now, they've got less numbers, Brentford,
00:49:58because of the quickness of the attack.
00:50:01And it's one phase.
00:50:04So I think it's the right...
00:50:05Well, I know it's the right decision.
00:50:07Because I put myself in the shoes of a Brentford player.
00:50:09And Rico Henry, you can see, bottom right,
00:50:11has appealed the whole way.
00:50:13Now, what I would say is,
00:50:15because it's the same phase, it makes sense.
00:50:17If this had happened,
00:50:19and then Brentford got their players back
00:50:21and Villa kept possession around the back four
00:50:23for 30 seconds, 60 seconds,
00:50:25built up another attack,
00:50:26and then I think you've got to say,
00:50:28that's too long.
00:50:29But because it's one phase and one play,
00:50:33I actually make it right.
00:50:34Yeah, the only thing I think we all disagree on
00:50:36is the length of time that it took.
00:50:38Yeah, I don't know why it took that long.
00:50:39Nearly five minutes for that to be happening.
00:50:41Again, we saw it one or two frames.
00:50:43It's like, yeah, would that make sense?
00:50:45Again, today, with all of the referee decisions,
00:50:48they got them right.
00:50:49Just the look and the feel of it
00:50:51is what we get frustrated about.
00:50:54Nottingham Forest began the day
00:50:55five points above the bottom three
00:50:57and three points behind today's opponent's
00:50:59Crystal Palace.
00:51:00Vicky Sparks was at the city ground.
00:51:03Palace have never beaten Forest in the Premier League
00:51:05and it's the home side who currently have momentum.
00:51:09Seven points from their last three games.
00:51:11They make five changes from the Europa League
00:51:13thumping of Ferenc Baroche,
00:51:15a competition they're only in
00:51:16due to Palace's demotion.
00:51:18It's the same side that beat Brentford's.
00:51:19January arrival Lorenzo Luca
00:51:21makes the bench for the first time.
00:51:23One-to-way top scorer Jean-Philippe Mateta
00:51:26is not in the Palace squad.
00:51:28Not in the right place to place
00:51:29as Oliver Glasner admits intense transfer interest,
00:51:33including a rejected bid from Forest.
00:51:35Adam Wharton suspended,
00:51:37Cambo drops to the bench,
00:51:39Pino Hughes and Riyad all come in
00:51:40with Palace only able to name seven subs.
00:51:47Oh, that's loose.
00:51:48And Pino's onto it.
00:51:50Johnson to his left,
00:51:51Sars to his right.
00:51:52It's behind Brennan Johnson,
00:51:54but he will connect.
00:51:56Here's Pino.
00:51:58And Hughes
00:52:00walked away only as far as Lama.
00:52:03And beaten away by Matt Searles.
00:52:07Well, they might have to do it
00:52:08without Jean-Philippe Mateta
00:52:09this afternoon Palace.
00:52:11But this was a decent move.
00:52:13Bodies on the line
00:52:14for Nottingham Forest.
00:52:17Johnson to send it in.
00:52:19The might of Lerma
00:52:19and Richards were up there.
00:52:23It was Hughes
00:52:26squeezing it through to Munoz.
00:52:27Well dispossessed by Sangare.
00:52:30And here come Nottingham Forest.
00:52:32Gives white
00:52:32to Jesus.
00:52:34And it will run through
00:52:36to Hudson-Odoin.
00:52:37Here's Igor Jesus.
00:52:39Richards slides in.
00:52:42Shoot shouts
00:52:44from the Nottingham Forest fans.
00:52:46And now the players
00:52:47for a penalty.
00:52:48Does Richards
00:52:50make contact first
00:52:52with Jesus?
00:52:54VAR are happy.
00:52:55And it will be
00:52:57just the throw
00:52:59for Nottingham Forest.
00:53:01Plenty in there
00:53:02to aim for.
00:53:03Palace make first contact.
00:53:04Gibbs white
00:53:05underneath it.
00:53:06And they can't get it away!
00:53:11And they're punished
00:53:12by Morgan Gibbs-White.
00:53:21Oh, the long throw
00:53:22causing all sorts of issues
00:53:24and Palace just
00:53:25couldn't clear their lines.
00:53:27It's great tenacity.
00:53:29Great composure
00:53:31from Morgan Gibbs-White.
00:53:34And Nottingham Forest
00:53:36hit the front
00:53:37against Crystal Palace.
00:53:40Plenty to fonder
00:53:42for Steve Parrish.
00:53:44And Oliver Glasner.
00:53:46It has been a tumultuous
00:53:48two weeks.
00:53:50Everything cleared
00:53:51between them,
00:53:51says Oliver Glasner.
00:53:55Saint-Munoz.
00:53:57Missed up here
00:53:57by Anderson.
00:53:58They've got his foot
00:53:59back in, but
00:53:59he's away.
00:54:01Murillo,
00:54:02who's now out of position.
00:54:03Johnson
00:54:04into Milenkovic
00:54:05Palace corner.
00:54:08And we saw
00:54:08the space opening
00:54:09to charge forward
00:54:10Murillo.
00:54:12He's out of position.
00:54:13In the end,
00:54:14his centre-half partner
00:54:16helped him out.
00:54:18She used to send it in.
00:54:20And what a leap!
00:54:21And what a clearance!
00:54:24And penalty given!
00:54:39And penalty given!
00:54:43And it is clear as day!
00:54:46Super ahead of by Lerma!
00:54:48And it was!
00:54:49What a save
00:54:50by Nico Williams!
00:54:52What was he thinking?
00:54:55It's Saar
00:54:56against Sels.
00:55:01And Saar
00:55:03strokes it home
00:55:04so calmly!
00:55:06A huge
00:55:08turning point
00:55:09in this game.
00:55:10Could it prove
00:55:11to be a turning point
00:55:13in Crystal Palace
00:55:14this season?
00:55:15Well,
00:55:16how they missed him
00:55:18while he was away
00:55:19at Afkjol.
00:55:19and with
00:55:20Mateta
00:55:21seemingly on the move
00:55:22how important
00:55:24could this man be?
00:55:25And how quickly
00:55:27the mood
00:55:27can change.
00:55:29So,
00:55:30another blow
00:55:31for Nottingham Forest
00:55:32in this game.
00:55:33Matt Sells
00:55:34has had to go off
00:55:35at half-time
00:55:36and on the day
00:55:37that Forest
00:55:38announced the signing
00:55:39of Stefan Ortega
00:55:40from Manchester City
00:55:42they turn instead
00:55:44to Angus Gunn
00:55:45to make his
00:55:46Nottingham Forest debut.
00:55:49Mitchell's delivery
00:55:50cleared away
00:55:51by Milinkovic
00:55:52Miner then goes down
00:55:55and referee
00:55:55Tony Harrington
00:55:56says that is a foul
00:55:57and a little bit
00:55:59up after
00:56:00Zah!
00:56:00Jeremy Pino!
00:56:02What are you doing?
00:56:06Well,
00:56:06Kip Swine
00:56:07is trying to say
00:56:07it's an elbow.
00:56:09Why on earth
00:56:10is he giving
00:56:11referee
00:56:11Tony Harrington
00:56:12a decision
00:56:13to make
00:56:13with Crystal Palace
00:56:15in such
00:56:16a strong position
00:56:17in this match
00:56:18with the man advantage.
00:56:19Tony Harrington
00:56:21giving him
00:56:22the benefit
00:56:22of the doubt.
00:56:26He has only
00:56:27endured
00:56:27longer
00:56:28winless runs
00:56:29in the league
00:56:30twice as a manager
00:56:31before.
00:56:43Both of them
00:56:43and that
00:56:44was very
00:56:45insightful.
00:56:46Gibbs White
00:56:46turned into trouble.
00:56:48Einas there!
00:56:50Anger was tight.
00:56:52But another
00:56:52warning for Crystal Palace
00:56:55despite being
00:56:56a man down
00:56:57and even Forest
00:56:58still
00:56:58have the ability
00:56:59to hurt them.
00:57:01Well,
00:57:02they like what
00:57:02they're seeing
00:57:03here at the city
00:57:03ground.
00:57:05They're defending
00:57:06when they have to
00:57:06resolutely
00:57:08and they're pushing
00:57:09forward whenever
00:57:10they can.
00:57:13One last chance
00:57:15perhaps for
00:57:15Crystal Palace.
00:57:17Pino's delivery.
00:57:19Gun's there.
00:57:21Hughes.
00:57:23Mitchell.
00:57:24Gun now
00:57:25back in position
00:57:25and Forest
00:57:26perhaps with a chance
00:57:27to counter
00:57:28but the whistle
00:57:28goes
00:57:29and that
00:57:30is that.
00:57:31A golden chance
00:57:33slips through
00:57:35Crystal Palace's
00:57:36grasp
00:57:36as Sean Dyche
00:57:38applauds the
00:57:39city ground.
00:57:40his side
00:57:40were excellent
00:57:41against the odds
00:57:42in this second
00:57:43half.
00:57:44It finishes.
00:57:45Nottingham
00:57:46for his one.
00:57:47Crystal Palace
00:57:48one.
00:57:49You know,
00:57:50you're going
00:57:50you're surprised
00:57:51what happens
00:57:51at the end
00:57:52of the first half
00:57:52but football's
00:57:53a strange game
00:57:54and these
00:57:54things can happen.
00:57:55He unbles it
00:57:56a natural reaction
00:57:56I think.
00:57:57I prefer him
00:57:58not to.
00:57:59So I'm
00:58:0010 of 11
00:58:00at any level
00:58:01but certainly
00:58:02in the Premier League
00:58:02but that being
00:58:04said
00:58:04I thought the
00:58:05mentality was
00:58:05superb
00:58:06second half.
00:58:06You're down
00:58:07one note
00:58:07with the first
00:58:08long
00:58:08swing
00:58:08they had
00:58:09and then
00:58:10the reaction
00:58:10was really
00:58:11great
00:58:11so I think
00:58:11we played
00:58:12a fantastic
00:58:12first half
00:58:13but then
00:58:14we didn't
00:58:14score
00:58:14we didn't
00:58:15create
00:58:15really good
00:58:16chances
00:58:17in the players
00:58:17and then
00:58:18it was a wild
00:58:19game
00:58:19the last
00:58:2020 minutes
00:58:20but I think
00:58:21that's the
00:58:21result of
00:58:22the last
00:58:23couple of
00:58:23weeks.
00:58:24One of the
00:58:24best performances
00:58:25I've ever
00:58:25been involved
00:58:26in
00:58:26down to
00:58:2710 men
00:58:27I think
00:58:29we limited
00:58:30them to
00:58:30very little
00:58:31I don't
00:58:31remember
00:58:31having
00:58:32many saves
00:58:33to make
00:58:33at all
00:58:33just a few
00:58:34crosses in the
00:58:35box.
00:58:35Is there
00:58:35any other
00:58:36update you can
00:58:37give us on
00:58:37Mateta or
00:58:38reports that
00:58:39Stran Larsson
00:58:39could be
00:58:40close?
00:58:40No I said
00:58:41to my board
00:58:42I don't want
00:58:43to talk about
00:58:44it today
00:58:44because the
00:58:46most important
00:58:46thing is
00:58:47this game
00:58:47with all the
00:58:48circumstances
00:58:49the players
00:58:50everybody
00:58:50deserves
00:58:50the full
00:58:51focus
00:58:51and my
00:58:52full focus
00:58:53and that's
00:58:53why I didn't
00:58:54talk to
00:58:54anyone right
00:58:54now but as
00:58:55I mentioned
00:58:56before it was
00:58:56pretty clear
00:58:57between all of
00:58:58us that it's
00:58:58either JP
00:59:00or somebody
00:59:01else.
00:59:01Well it needs
00:59:02sorted doesn't
00:59:03it Troy because
00:59:03it was a glaring
00:59:05miss for them
00:59:05this afternoon
00:59:06not having a
00:59:07centre forward.
00:59:08No again
00:59:09Ismail Assar
00:59:10a player again
00:59:10I used to
00:59:11play with
00:59:11Watford is
00:59:12naturally a
00:59:12winger and
00:59:12he's trying to
00:59:13do the role
00:59:14but just as
00:59:15you're going to
00:59:15see here it's
00:59:16going to be
00:59:16naturally now
00:59:17Assar as a
00:59:18winger is
00:59:18going out
00:59:19there but
00:59:19look Palace
00:59:19are looking
00:59:20for somebody
00:59:21to bounce
00:59:22the ball
00:59:22off and
00:59:23for Forrest
00:59:24you've never
00:59:24seen anything
00:59:25like it in a
00:59:25Premier League
00:59:26game to have
00:59:26three players
00:59:27marking nobody
00:59:28and just be
00:59:28comfortable no
00:59:30real focal point
00:59:30for the press
00:59:31very easy for
00:59:32Forrest to get
00:59:33out.
00:59:33Again as
00:59:34coming through
00:59:35now Pino
00:59:35look as he
00:59:36puts it to
00:59:36start every
00:59:37striker now
00:59:38will be going
00:59:38right where's
00:59:39my goal where
00:59:40am I shooting
00:59:40again as a
00:59:41winger he's
00:59:42trying to cross
00:59:42it but he
00:59:43ends up crossing
00:59:43it in line with
00:59:44the six yard
00:59:45box he's got to
00:59:45get a shot off
00:59:46there and then
00:59:47this just summed
00:59:48them up look at
00:59:48this as an
00:59:49attacking entity
00:59:49just clipping it
00:59:51through no one
00:59:52there it's three
00:59:53versus seven
00:59:54they've got to
00:59:55keep the ball
00:59:55they've got to
00:59:55be better
00:59:56this is what
00:59:57Oliver Glasner
00:59:57is talking about
00:59:58and then you're
00:59:59going to start to
01:00:00see Ismail Assar
01:00:00now again be in
01:00:01this wonderful
01:00:02position but this
01:00:02is where they
01:00:03have to get
01:00:04whether it's
01:00:04a strand last
01:00:05and whether they
01:00:05get Mateta
01:00:06back but look
01:00:07they turn the
01:00:07ball over they
01:00:08win it back
01:00:08again and this
01:00:10is brilliant for
01:00:11me daddy I'd
01:00:11love to hear what
01:00:12you think but
01:00:12as it gets to
01:00:13this point now
01:00:14how are you
01:00:15expecting to
01:00:16score 8v1 in
01:00:17the box and
01:00:18then better than
01:00:19that look three
01:00:20attackers and
01:00:21there's three
01:00:21defenders higher
01:00:22especially when
01:00:23you've got the
01:00:23extra man
01:00:26Mitchell's got to
01:00:26get around he
01:00:27doesn't there's a
01:00:28lot of standing
01:00:29around and hoping
01:00:30and again nice
01:00:32play it comes here
01:00:33to Uche this is
01:00:34where it started
01:00:34getting desperate
01:00:35and you know if
01:00:36you're going to
01:00:36score from there
01:00:37and that's going to
01:00:37win it and
01:00:38Will Hughes a
01:00:38player that he
01:00:39used to play with
01:00:39again again look a
01:00:41massive shot and
01:00:42you'll see what
01:00:43Oliver Glasner
01:00:43thought of it as
01:00:44his next clip now
01:00:45and he just summed
01:00:46it up instantly for
01:00:47me yeah very
01:00:48frustrating day for
01:00:49Palace and that
01:00:51shows you know how
01:00:52they did struggle
01:00:53with with the
01:00:55opponents having
01:00:5510 men and
01:00:56actually with
01:00:57from Forrest's
01:00:58point of view
01:00:58with 10 men
01:00:59and West Ham
01:01:00losing yesterday
01:01:01they've gained a
01:01:02point on them
01:01:03that's actually
01:01:03turns out to be a
01:01:04decent result for
01:01:05them I think if
01:01:06you get a result
01:01:06with 10 men in
01:01:07the Premier League
01:01:07you're absolutely
01:01:08ecstatic and
01:01:08Sean Dyche has
01:01:10got every right to
01:01:11be positive about
01:01:11it because as
01:01:12you say West Ham
01:01:13losing gives them
01:01:14another point on
01:01:15their journey to
01:01:15survival right
01:01:17latest transfer news

01:03:27in from to
01:03:28Bosle
01:03:28Pope dropped it
01:03:30Canate
01:03:32seals it
01:03:34Scott just skips in
01:03:36to win it back

01:03:44here's Rayanne
01:03:45good strength from him
01:03:46across it goes
01:03:47and now Bournemouth
01:03:48seal it
01:03:49through Alex Scott
01:03:53Vanheke
01:03:53good ball
01:03:54Ayari
01:03:55Kosilis

01:04:00into the box
01:04:00for Everton
01:04:01and it's come across
01:04:02what a save
01:04:04Beto
01:04:041-1
01:04:05Everton have
01:04:06snatched a point
01:04:09Madweke
01:04:10Tom Goodmanson
01:04:11has the angle
01:04:12now
01:04:12Zubi Mendy
01:04:15has been left
01:04:16at the back
01:04:16again
01:04:17Darlow
01:04:18oh he's lost it
01:04:18and it's gone in
01:04:22in from Martinelli
01:04:24and turned in
01:04:25by Jokerez
01:04:28the other guy
01:04:28gets it
01:04:29into Gabriel
01:04:29Jezor
01:04:30it's a really
01:04:30good turn
01:04:32Jezor
01:04:32with the shot
01:04:33a really good
01:04:33finish as well
01:04:344-0 Arsenal
01:04:38here's the table
01:04:39just one league
01:04:39win in six
01:04:40means Manchester
01:04:41City now
01:04:42trail Arsenal
01:04:42by six points
01:04:44Manchester United's
01:04:45third successive
01:04:46win means
01:04:46they've closed
01:04:47the gap
01:04:47on Aston Villa
01:04:48Brentford have
01:04:49replaced Fulham
01:04:49in seven
01:04:50Spurs winless
01:04:51in five
01:04:52this year
01:04:52but that point
01:04:53again
01:04:53City keeps
01:04:54them in 14
01:04:54a point apiece
01:04:56for Palace
01:04:56and Forest
01:04:57puts them
01:04:57nine
01:04:57and six
01:04:58points clear
01:04:59respectively
01:05:00of West Ham
01:05:01in the
01:05:02relegation
01:05:03right
01:05:03let's just
01:05:04deal with
01:05:05the latest
01:05:05transfer news
01:05:06with deadline
01:05:07day tomorrow
01:05:07senior football
01:05:08correspondent
01:05:09Sammy Mockbell
01:05:09joins us
01:05:10with some
01:05:10big Liverpool
01:05:11news
01:05:11and this
01:05:12affects
01:05:12Chelsea
01:05:12as well
01:05:13yeah
01:05:13big news
01:05:14tonight
01:05:14out of
01:05:14Anfield
01:05:15they've
01:05:16agreed a
01:05:17fee
01:05:17of £60
01:05:17million
01:05:18for
01:05:18Ren's
01:05:18central
01:05:19defender
01:05:19Jeremy
01:05:20Jacquet
01:05:21who's
01:05:21been courted
01:05:22by a lot
01:05:23of the big
01:05:23clubs in
01:05:23Europe
01:05:24Chelsea
01:05:24were after
01:05:24him
01:05:25this month
01:05:25Arsenal
01:05:26have looked
01:05:27at him
01:05:27before
01:05:27and where
01:05:28this is
01:05:29significant
01:05:29is that
01:05:30we know
01:05:30Liverpool
01:05:31have been
01:05:31after a
01:05:32centre-back
01:05:32for a while
01:05:32they tried
01:05:33Mark Gehy
01:05:33in the
01:05:34summer
01:05:34didn't get
01:05:35him
01:05:35Gehy's
01:05:35now gone
01:05:36to
01:05:36Manchester
01:05:37City
01:05:37and what
01:05:38it also
01:05:39does
01:05:39it aligns
01:05:40with their
01:05:40recruitment
01:05:41policy
01:05:42their rebuild
01:05:43policy
01:05:44of trying
01:05:44to sign
01:05:44young
01:05:45elite
01:05:46players
01:05:46if you
01:05:46look at
01:05:46what they
01:05:47did in
01:05:47the
01:05:47summer
01:05:47Eketike
01:05:49Verts
01:05:50Leone
01:05:52Kerkhej
01:05:52all
01:05:53under
01:05:5322 or
01:05:54under
01:05:54and he's
01:05:56only 20
01:05:56but this
01:05:57isn't
01:05:57they've done
01:05:58the deal
01:05:59now but
01:05:59he won't
01:06:00join till
01:06:00the summer
01:06:00is that
01:06:01right
01:06:01so it's
01:06:02a deal
01:06:03that will
01:06:03be done
01:06:03now but
01:06:04aligned for
01:06:05the summer
01:06:05do you find
01:06:05that a bit
01:06:06odd
01:06:06yeah
01:06:08especially as
01:06:09in they're so
01:06:09reliant on the
01:06:10Canati
01:06:10Van Dijk
01:06:11partnership
01:06:12I wouldn't find
01:06:13it as odd if
01:06:14they were only
01:06:14fighting for the
01:06:15Premier League
01:06:15because they're
01:06:15out of it
01:06:16but they've got a
01:06:17great chance in
01:06:18the Champions
01:06:18League and
01:06:18really they
01:06:19haven't got any
01:06:19cover because
01:06:20Gomez
01:06:20are never fit
01:06:20what are
01:06:21Chelsea saying
01:06:22about that
01:06:22bearing in
01:06:22mind they
01:06:23wanted him
01:06:23yeah they
01:06:24went in hard
01:06:25this January
01:06:26for him
01:06:26but they're
01:06:27saying that
01:06:27they don't want
01:06:28a match to
01:06:29offer
01:06:29they're happy
01:06:30with the
01:06:30options that
01:06:31they've got
01:06:31so it looks
01:06:32like Liverpool
01:06:33have got a
01:06:33free run at
01:06:34him
01:06:34right what's
01:06:35happening with
01:06:35Mateta and
01:06:37Palace and
01:06:38Strand Larsson
01:06:39right there's a
01:06:39few dominos that
01:06:40need to fall
01:06:41here so I
01:06:41think the key to
01:06:42this is is
01:06:43John-Philippe
01:06:44Mateta he's got a
01:06:45medical tomorrow
01:06:46further medical
01:06:47tests
01:06:48he's had one
01:06:49already
01:06:49he's had checks
01:06:50today ahead of
01:06:51ahead of a move
01:06:52to AC Milan
01:06:52they've agreed a fee
01:06:54of around 30
01:06:54million pounds
01:06:55if he comes
01:06:56through those
01:06:57medical tests
01:06:58that will then
01:06:59unlock the
01:07:00door for
01:07:01Jorgen Strand
01:07:02Larsson to
01:07:02replace him at
01:07:03Crystal Palace
01:07:04Wolves and
01:07:05Crystal Palace
01:07:05have agreed a
01:07:06fee of around
01:07:0648 million pounds
01:07:07for him to go to
01:07:09Sellers Park
01:07:09why are you
01:07:11shaking your head
01:07:13it's nothing to
01:07:14do with me
01:07:15well it is
01:07:16it is at the
01:07:16moment if you
01:07:17sit there
01:07:17Sal Mateta for
01:07:1930 and pay
01:07:2048
01:07:20well he's younger
01:07:22isn't he he did
01:07:22have a good season
01:07:23last season
01:07:25one good year
01:07:28gets you 48
01:07:28mil
01:07:30anyway what do
01:07:31I know
01:07:33and then the
01:07:33final so but
01:07:34but Mateta would
01:07:35have to go for
01:07:36Strand Larsson to
01:07:36come in
01:07:37yes that's
01:07:38correct
01:07:38and then the
01:07:39final one is
01:07:39you were saying
01:07:40when we were in
01:07:41the office earlier
01:07:41that Arsenal might
01:07:43look to do
01:07:44something tomorrow
01:07:45it was unlikely
01:07:45but they've had
01:07:47some bad news
01:07:47with Mikel
01:07:48Marino we were
01:07:48able to bring
01:07:49you the news
01:07:49earlier that
01:07:50he suffered a
01:07:52serious foot
01:07:53injury which
01:07:53will keep
01:07:54him out for
01:07:54a number
01:07:55of weeks
01:07:55he's going
01:07:56to have
01:07:56surgery
01:07:56so and
01:07:58it's late
01:07:58in the day
01:07:59and I'm
01:08:00told it's
01:08:01unlikely but
01:08:02they are going
01:08:02to scale the
01:08:03market in the
01:08:04loan department
01:08:07if they can
01:08:08get a loan
01:08:09a short term
01:08:10loan in until
01:08:11the end of
01:08:11the season
01:08:11they'll do
01:08:12that
01:08:12strange
01:08:12because they've
01:08:13got Avers
01:08:13just coming
01:08:14back
01:08:14it was a
01:08:15similar
01:08:15type
01:08:15they've got
01:08:15Norgard who
01:08:16was Brentford's
01:08:17captain last
01:08:18year
01:08:18I think
01:08:19they're fine
01:08:20okay
01:08:21Sammy
01:08:22thank you
01:08:22very much
01:08:24that's it
01:08:25I'm off to
01:08:25see if I
01:08:26can sell
01:08:26either Danny
01:08:27or Troy
01:08:27before the
01:08:28window
01:08:28especially if
01:08:29I can get
01:08:2948 million
01:08:30quid for it
01:08:31you can follow
01:08:32all the last
01:08:32minute moves
01:08:33on the BBC
01:08:33Sport website
01:08:34nice of that
01:08:34goodnight
