00:00I mean, I don't know.
00:03¿Qué tal some Rosalia?
00:58I mean, it's just been a gift.
01:00I've loved it.
01:01It's been, yeah, everything I've hoped for and more.
01:04Yeah, same.
01:05I mean, obviously there's the pressure, I think,
01:08before when you join the show
01:10and you want to kind of do it justice or something like that.
01:14But like you said, when you know you're part of a show
01:18that has such a big audience
01:19and they get to see what you do and do what you love,
01:22it's a real gift.
01:23And yeah, I just never thought
01:26that I would see myself in this position.
01:28But I think that also is a reflection of perhaps
01:31I didn't allow myself to dream big enough.
01:35And yeah, I think through Sophie as well, playing her,
01:38I was able to be able to learn
01:41that I shouldn't limit myself, yeah.
01:46Well, I think I like that
01:48because I think it feels,
01:52what I take from that, I guess,
01:53is that the intimacy feels specific
01:55to this story of these two people.
01:59And obviously, you know, sex plays a part in that,
02:02but it's also a lot about emotional intimacy.
02:07And I think it makes,
02:08it's funny, we were talking earlier,
02:10like it makes scenes like intimacy
02:11seems so much less, a little bit less scary
02:13because you're not there to deliver a thirst trap.
02:16Like you're there to sort of tell a story,
02:18you know, and I think that's really important
02:20to hold on to that
02:23because there is a part of you in your brain
02:24in those scenes or that sort of quality.
02:27You're like, oh, do I have to deliver,
02:28you know, do people have to feel this certain way?
02:31And no, you just have to tell the story
02:33as truly as you can.
02:34And that includes the physical stuff.
02:36Yeah.
02:37Yeah.
02:37Especially with these two characters,
02:39their story just happens to go on that,
02:41I think, more slow burn.
02:42And each season has its own charm
02:44and own kind of way they express love.
02:47Yeah.
02:48So it's nice that people really relate to it.
02:51And, but yeah, it is really specific.
02:54And I think that's what's so great
02:55about each season and what Bridgerton does.
03:00I don't know why it happens.
03:02Yeah.
03:02Because I think...
03:03Misogyny.
03:04Yeah.
03:04I think probably a little bit.
03:06That's my mind on that.
03:06Yeah, yeah, yeah.
03:07I think so.
03:08Yeah.
03:08I think so.
03:09Also, like, I feel like romance novels
03:13and classic literature,
03:14it stemmed like way back.
03:16And like, it's about,
03:17I think it's what any human being
03:19creates deep down inside,
03:21whether they admit it or not.
03:22And I think to put it down,
03:24I think is, yeah,
03:26I don't understand it
03:27because there's obviously
03:30such a place for it
03:32and people love it for a reason.
03:33And it's obviously a reflection
03:34of, I think, human beings.
03:36So, yeah.
03:38It's like our emotional lives
03:40are really...
03:41Like, what I love about this story
03:42actually is that obviously
03:43there are a lot of external obstacles,
03:44but it's also about
03:45internal emotional life.
03:47And I think when I say misogyny
03:49is because I think there is
03:50sort of a sense of like,
03:51oh, that genre is about feelings.
03:53Yeah.
03:54Like, you know,
03:54oh, it's about emotions.
03:56It's so silly.
03:57It's about emotions.
03:58You know, like,
03:58yeah, everything's about emotions.
03:59But I think like,
04:00yeah, I think it's having
04:01a nice big moment.
04:03As you say,
04:03like, there's actually
04:04a huge past of it.
04:05Like, we've always been
04:06interested in it.
04:07But I think it comes
04:08from a sort of like
04:10anti-emotionalism,
04:11I think,
04:11that is, can feel a bit,
04:13you know,
04:13a certain kind of male, maybe.
04:15Yeah.
04:16I don't know.
04:16Maybe classist as well.
04:18Yeah.
04:18Privileged.
04:19But actually,
04:20people love it.
04:21You know, there's a thirst for it.
04:22Turns out, you know,
04:23I mean, Bridgerton is one of,
04:24clearly, you know,
04:24it's one of the biggest shows around.
04:26So, clearly,
04:27people want to see it
04:28and want to understand
04:30that side of their lives.
04:31Like, the sort of
04:32inner psychological side.
04:36It's the most
04:37so satisfying thing, right,
04:39as an actor.
04:40Absolutely.
04:40Those sorts of roles.
04:42And to be able to deep dive
04:43into why humans behave
04:45the way they do,
04:46why certain people
04:47choose the paths
04:48that they go on.
04:49It's,
04:49that's the real juicy bit,
04:52I think,
04:52of our job.
04:53Yeah.
04:57What's the most challenging part?
05:00I think it was quite exposing,
05:02I think,
05:03to play Sophie as well.
05:04I think when you relate
05:05to a character so much,
05:07sometimes,
05:08it's really exposing
05:10and it makes you reflect
05:12a lot of yourself,
05:13which sometimes
05:14can be quite uncomfortable.
05:17and then to actually play it
05:20and, yeah,
05:22it feels like
05:22you're putting yourself
05:23out there,
05:24which can be quite scary
05:25sometimes, but.
05:26And also remind yourself
05:27that you're in the driving seat.
05:29Yeah.
05:30I think the thing
05:30I always found,
05:32maybe the challenge,
05:33is those moments
05:33where you're like,
05:34well,
05:35it's sort of what I was saying,
05:36where you sort of think,
05:37you feel a sort of sense of,
05:39oh,
05:39is this what I'm supposed
05:40to be doing in this moment?
05:42How, you know,
05:42like,
05:42is this the romantic lead moment
05:44where I do my
05:45romantic lead acting?
05:47And, like,
05:47having to sort of
05:48push that aside
05:50and just remind yourself
05:52that you are
05:53in the driving seat
05:54and that this is
05:55Benedict and Sophie's story
05:56and it has its own thing,
05:58I think.
05:58That's the biggest challenge.
06:04I don't know.
06:05What about some Rosalia?
06:08Rosalia's good.
06:09She might,
06:09because some of them
06:10are already slightly classical.
06:11Yeah,
06:12maybe, like,
06:12if there might be
06:13one of her songs
06:14on her new album
06:14that might be quite,
06:16it'd be sort of,
06:16like, quite,
06:17because it is,
06:18it's very intense,
06:19isn't it?
06:19There's a real intensity
06:20to that album.
06:21Passion.
06:21Yeah,
06:22maybe that,
06:23stick that in a string quartet.
06:24I'd love to see it.
06:24Yeah.
06:25Yeah.
06:25Yeah.
