00:00Once we arrived at the location, it was just after 5.30 p.m. last night when we had a
00:06snowcat that was able to get to about two miles before they got to the scene.
00:11And so from two miles in, they skied in because, again, the tracked machinery and the potential for another avalanche.
00:20So they skied in from there.
00:22They were able to locate the six survivors.
00:25They were sheltered.
00:27They had some equipment with them trying to not only stay warm, but they had medical issues as well.
00:35They had themselves already started looking for their teammates and their clients that were missing in the avalanche.
00:47They were able to locate three decedents at the time when they were waiting for us to get there to
00:55help rescue them.
00:57Once at 5.30, once our team got there, again, extreme conditions, the two of the six were not mobile.
01:06They could not walk because of the injuries they sustained during the avalanche.
01:10And we were able to safely get them the two miles from that location to the snowcat.
01:15And four others were able to get to the snowcat themselves.
01:19So all six were rescued off of the mountain.
01:24The information I have at this time is that of the six, one was a Blackbird Mountain guide,
01:32and five survivors were clients on that tour.
01:36Of the 15 that were on this guided trip, they were nine women and six men.
01:42We were able to rescue one man and five women.
01:46So the survivors, ranging in ages from 30 to 55 years of age.
01:58Eight of the additional, nine additional skiers have been located deceased.
02:03We are still looking for one of the members at this time.
