00:00Squad member Congresswoman Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez is being dragged online
00:05for this gaffe that she made during a panel in Berlin.
00:08It is not a remark on who Maduro was as a leader. He canceled elections. He was an
00:15anti-democratic leader. That doesn't mean that we can kidnap a head of state and engage in acts
00:22of war just because the nation is below the equator. One problem, Venezuela is not south
00:27of the equator. And the reason the Congresswoman was even in Germany is largely thought to be
00:32because she was trying to show her foreign policy chops on the world stage. So really not the time
00:39for a geographical faux pas. And strategists believe that this is all part of AOC's calculus
00:44ahead of either a presidential or Senate run in 2028. And the online jabs at her were just swift.
00:50Independent journalist Glenn Greenwald said, quote, whoever convinced AOC that she had
00:54successfully completed her tutoring and was now ready to give book reports about foreign policy
00:59in public really should look for another line of work. Just ouch. Now, it wasn't just about that one
01:07misspeak. If AOC is trying to flex her foreign policy muscle on this European swing, she's just
01:12not off to a great start. She also stumbled over a non-answer to whether the United States should
01:17defend Taiwan if China invades and basically didn't have an answer when asked what the single
01:23biggest change in President Trump's foreign policy has been.
