00:02Pedicab drivers are set to be banned from charging rip-off fares and blasting music
00:06from their vehicles in a move that will see the drivers regulated in London for the first
00:11time.
00:12Under the new rules and regulations set out by Transport for London, drivers and operators
00:17must pay for a licence, meet English language requirements, pass a safety test and hold
00:23at least a driving theory test certificate too.
00:25TfL said the new measures were designated to improve safety, clamp down on inflated fares
00:31and crack down on persistent complaints over noise and antisocial behaviour.
00:35The London Pedicab Welfare Association previously said it welcomed regulations so long as they
00:41were fair.
