03:51we've tuned the combat so it works really well for a team of hunters
03:55and we believe that works best when supported by an art style that really matches that energy
04:00we're going to be showing you more gameplay in a minute so you can judge that for yourself

04:06this game is still very much in development
04:09some things are going to be polished
04:10others are still going to change
04:12and that's exactly why we want to bring you in this early

04:26with hunters gathering we're bringing back what makes horizon so unique
04:30set in the american west a thousand years from now
04:33civilization has collapsed
04:35the hunters are all that stand between the tribes
04:38and the massive animal-like machines that threaten their survival
04:41and the crisis is only getting worse
04:44the machines have grown deadlier
04:45and the more dangerous by the day
04:47someone has to step up and push back
04:50and that is the gathering
04:52a crew of unlikely heroes
04:54venturing out into the wild to stop the machine threat
04:56we'll launch with a roster of hunters that grows over time
05:00in our first playtest
05:02you'll be able to play as rem
05:03sun and axel
05:05three hunters with very different approaches
05:08to combat and teamwork
05:11combat is at the core of hunters gathering
05:18it is tactical reactive and skill-based
05:22you took the precision and tactical depth of verizon's combat
05:26and build it for a team environment
05:28you'll have to feed enemy movements
05:30time your attacks
05:31combine abilities with your squad
05:33to take down the most powerful machines
05:37yeah
05:39it is a challenging game
05:41you really have to earn that victory
05:43and when you start a mission
05:45you pick and prepare your hunter
05:46each has very different melee
05:49ranged playstyles and weapons
05:51you can select between classes for each hunter
05:53that change their abilities
05:55from tank to support or tactician
05:57during a hunt
05:59you can tinker with a roguelike build system
06:01every machine encounter you beat
06:03gives you powerful technical options
06:05you've got perks
06:06weapon upgrades
06:07and various upgrades to your stats
06:09each run you'll have to try and find the best possible combination of power-ups
06:14that take on the biggest machine
06:21you'll be able to explore four large and very different environments at launch
06:25each with its own look
06:27its own atmosphere
06:28its own challenges for your squad to master
06:31at the center of it all
06:32is the hunter's gathering
06:33this is where you upgrade your gear
06:35tweak your loadout
06:37and team up for the next hunt
06:38it is also just a fun place
06:40for example
06:41you can hang out in your own customizable campsite
06:44and then head back into the wells
06:46let's get out there
06:52horizon hunter's gathering
06:53is all about challenge and mastery
06:56and the missions that you go on
06:57lean right into that
06:59during our first playtest
07:01you'll get to try two very different mission types
07:03let's show them what we got
07:09machine incursion
07:10you fight to stop a large-scale machine assault on the tribes
07:13here we go
07:14with your squad
07:15you plan and coordinate
07:18which randomized power-ups to collect
07:21...before facing a relentless boss machine.
07:25Time is limited, with a violent storm closing in that cuts down your options to get stronger.
07:32The next is Cauldron Descent.
07:35In this multistage dungeon, the hunters take the fight to the enemy.
07:38You decide which path to take, from brutal machine encounters to really challenging obstacles.
07:44They all require teamwork.
07:45Every clear chamber shapes your run, and gives you power-ups to descend deeper and claim the rewards.
07:53These modes are the foundation of Hunter Scattering.
07:55Tough, replayable, and built for squads who want to master them.
08:00We'll continue to evolve them with your feedback throughout our playtests.
08:15At launch, you'll be able to play the story campaign solo with NPCs, or together in co-op.
08:20But that won't be part of the playtests.
08:22We want you to experience the story fresh when the game is ready.
08:25What we can say, is that it's fully canon within the Rising Universe.
08:29It introduces new characters, new threats, and new mysteries, that expand this part of the world.
08:35And the story doesn't stop at long.
08:37We'll keep adding new adventures over time to the game.
08:56We hope you've enjoyed your first look at Horizon Hunters Gathering.
