00:26I'm certainly not representing my points of view.
00:32We think that—first point, and I'll go back to an earlier answer.
00:37There are many areas where we cooperate closely with the Americans for our defense.
00:43One of the most fundamental is in NORAD, in northern defense.
00:48The evolution of NORAD and northern defense in a world of hypersonic missiles,
00:53in a world where you have literally seconds to react,
00:57a world where attacks from space is not science fiction,
01:02but a potential near-term reality, certainly one we need to develop defenses against.
01:09And it's in that context that we are in a series of—we are taking our own steps.
01:14For example, welcome, PJ, the former premier of Nunavut.
01:21One of the first things I did as prime minister is we stood together in Iqaluit,
01:25and I was making an announcement about committing to over-the-Vorizon radar purchase from Australia,
01:33which was 11 months ago, I guess, right?
01:36We made that announcement.
01:38So we're taking our own steps to bolster our defense, as a series of others,
01:41but we are also exploring the next phase of that defense with the United States,
01:47and that would include what's called—that could include what's called the Golden Dome.
01:52I would say, Minister, those talks—where is he?
01:56He's moving around.
01:57You never move, but those talks, they're going well.
02:00Well, it's under development, and if it's in the right interests of Canada—and I think there are certainly many scenarios
02:07where it will be in the right interests of Canada—we will be a willing participant.
02:12Does it include Greenland?
02:13I mean, it's a technical issue.
02:17To be honest, I haven't focused on that aspect of it,
02:21specifically because our concern has been the protection of Canada.
