00:05House of Lords is an American glam metal band from Connecticut.
00:09The band was formed in 1987 and emerged from the melodic rock band Guyfria.
00:15After keyboardist Greg Guyfria gave up his solo project,
00:18he formed the band House of Lords with his former colleagues Chuck Wright and Lanny Cordula.
00:23Singer James Christian and drummer Ken Mary joined the lineup.
00:26In 1988, the band released their self-titled debut album.
00:32The first single, I Just Wanna Be Loved, reached number 58 on the Hot 100,
00:37while the second single, Love Don't Lie, failed to reach the charts but received their best MTV Airplay performance.
00:45In 1990, Lanny Cordula left the band and was replaced by Shark Island guitarist Michael Guy.
00:52Their second album, Sahara, was musically somewhat softer and featured numerous guest musicians such as Ron Keel,
00:59Doye Galdrich, and Steve Plunkett.
01:02The two singles, Remember My Name, and, Can't Find My Way Home, reached the charts,
01:08and House of Lords was able to build on their success.
01:11But shortly thereafter, Chuck Wright and Ken Mary left the band.
01:15With the money they had earned, the band produced what James Christian considers their greatest album,
01:21Demons Down, in 1992.
01:23The album features former Ozzy and Whitesnake drummer Tommy Aldridge,
01:27and the sound became more complex and harder.
01:31However, the emergence of the cube music genre stifled the band's creative spirit,
01:36the album was largely ignored, and the band broke up in 1993.
01:39In 2000, the band reformed with its original lineup, but was unable to recapture its former success.
01:47The only original member currently remaining is singer James Christian.
