00:01Investigators may have a major break in the search for 84-year-old Nancy Guthrie,
00:05the mother of TV host Savannah Guthrie.
00:08The FBI said Sunday that DNA has been recovered from a glove found near her Arizona home,
00:13which appears to match the pair worn by a prowler seen on a doorbell camera
00:17just before she was abducted two weeks ago.
00:20The sample was tested by a private lab in Florida
00:22and is now undergoing final quality checks
00:25before being run through the National Combined DNA Index System database.
00:30Authorities say the results could lead to what forensic experts call a hit as early as Monday.
00:35The glove was one of around 16 recovered in a field two miles from Guthrie's Tucson home.
00:41Most turned out to have been dropped by searchers,
00:44but investigators say this one seems to match the gloves worn by the suspect
00:48seen trying to disable Guthrie's door camera.
00:51The suspect was also carrying a gun and an overstuffed backpack.
00:57Guthrie, who has limited mobility, was last seen on January 31st
01:01and is believed to have been taken against her will.
01:04Blood on her porch was confirmed to be hers,
01:06and at least two ransom notes have surfaced since her disappearance.
01:10The FBI searched a nearby home Friday night
01:13and questioned one person in a separate traffic stop,
01:16but no arrests were made.
01:18Her children, including Today Show host Ivana,
01:21have posted emotional video messages pleading for their mother's safe return.
01:25But I just wanted to come on and say that we still have hope and we still believe.
01:39And I wanted to say to whoever has her or knows where she is that it's never too late.
01:58And you're not lost or alone.
02:05And it is never too late to do the right thing.
02:09Investigators say there's been no proof of life, but also no evidence she's dead.
02:13The case has drawn national attention, including support from President Donald Trump.
