00:00Did Denmark's parliament laugh hysterically about Trump purchasing Greenland?
00:08U.S. President Donald Trump's campaign to take control of the island of Greenland,
00:12a hotbed for critical raw materials that belongs to EU member state Denmark,
00:17appears to have died down for now.
00:19Initially Trump had refused to rule out the use of military force
00:23to seize the semi-autonomous territory,
00:25which he claimed the U.S. needed to deter Russia from making inroads in the region.
00:30But tensions called following an agreement struck at the World Economic Forum in Davos.
00:35The details of the deal remain vague,
00:36but it appears that NATO has agreed to up its strategic security presence in the Arctic,
00:41and Trump said in an interview that the U.S. would get total access to Greenland under the deal.
00:47Denmark has repeatedly shut down Trump's earlier demands to seize Greenland,
00:51refusing to bow down to the U.S. President's threats.
00:54But according to videos that have resurfaced and circulated across social media,
00:58the idea of Trump taking over Greenland had the Danish parliament in stitches.
01:08So is the footage authentic?
01:10Well, in reality this video is genuine, but it has been misleadingly taken out of context.
01:15We carried out a simple reverse image search,
01:18which revealed that the actual video originates from 2019.
01:21It was posted on the Danish parliament's website alongside a transcript of what actually happened.
01:27Denmark's parliament was laughing hysterically about the state's purchase of four elephants and a camel,
01:33as reported by Euronews at the time.
01:35MPs were told that the animals needed to be brought together because they were friends and inseparable,
01:40prompting laughs across the room.
01:42The purchase occurred due to a state ban on wild animals and circuses,
01:46which was introduced in late 2019,
01:49but drew controversy because of how expensive the purchase was,
01:52costing the state 1.5 million euros.
01:55And the diagnosis is binding for that sound of a sound of auenarth.
01:55Now release the score in order of a statement,
01:55we'll do the same for the forgiveness of information.
01:55And that's where wetalking mysteriousife hope towards the end
01:56that our customers acted in,
01:57taşetyむrah,
01:59well thank you so many years!ostenалы
