00:00I know that parents right across the country are worried about what's
00:04happening with their kids online, how much screen time they're having, the
00:09impact on their sleep, whether they should have a phone, a smartphone at all
00:13or when. So we're determined to act swiftly on the results of the
00:17consultation we're holding at the minute but we're not
00:21waiting to act. We are today announcing that we will make data
00:26preservation notices automatic so in the terrible event that a child dies that
00:31their data online is kept, that we will close the gap in the legislation on AI
00:35chatbots because parents are really worried about their kids use of AI
00:40chatbots too and we're consulting on whether there should be curfews
00:44overnight on social media, breaks to stop doom scrolling, whether we should
00:49actually put age limits or live streaming but also stranger pairing on games
00:54consoles. We are determined to act swiftly to keep kids safe online, give them
00:59their childhood back and make sure we prepare them for the future.
