00:04As-salamu alaykum wa rahmatullahi wa barakatuhu, bismillah wa alhamdulillah wa salatu wa salamu ala rasoolillahi sallallahu alayhi wa sallam
00:11Welcome back. Today's episode is very very important.
00:15Quote number 21 in my book, Better Me, is about truthfulness.
00:20And the quote is, let it be your best policy in life, speaking the truth.
00:26Look, you know, the Prophet sallallahu alayhi wa sallam used to tolerate any problem, any sin.
00:33However, he never tolerated true lying.
00:36He would hate it like, you know, the most ill manners that the Prophet sallallahu alayhi wa sallam really despised
00:42was lying.
00:43And this is what Aisha r.a. wa ardaha confirmed, that the Prophet sallallahu alayhi wa sallam would tolerate anything
00:48but lying.
00:50A man came to the Prophet sallallahu alayhi wa sallam and he told him, can a Muslim be coward?
00:54Can a Muslim be stingy? And he agreed that maybe some Muslims would fall into these particular sins or these
01:00particular characteristics.
01:02However, when he said, can a Muslim be a liar? He stood up the Prophet sallallahu alayhi wa sallam and
01:07he said, no, a Muslim can never be a liar.
01:10In fact, lying could lead to hellfire just like that.
01:13So don't buy into the trend that white lie is fine, that a little bit lie here and there to
01:23get rid of your problems is fine.
01:24No, no, no. Lie is lie. It's deception. Lie is wrong information.
01:28And that could lead to bigger problems.
01:31The Prophet sallallahu alayhi wa sallam said,
01:33I command you to be truthful, for truthfulness leads to righteousness and righteousness leads to Jannah.
01:41And a man or a woman who said the truth and struggled to say the truth, they will be written
01:46with Allah as truthful.
01:47So imagine, you know, on the day of resurrection, Allah is giving you that label of being truthful
01:53just because you have, you know, you have lived in this dunya with honesty and truthfulness.
02:00And the opposite also, the Prophet sallallahu alayhi wa sallam warned us against in the same narration.
02:04He said, وَإِيَّاكُمْ وَالْكَذِبِ
02:06And beware of lying, for lying leads to wickedness.
02:10And wickedness leads to hellfire.
02:12You don't want to go to hellfire, especially this is the month of Ramadan
02:16where Allah subhanahu alayhi wa sallam is opening the gates of Jannah for you.
02:19So let it be your policy in life.
02:22Lying is of the option.
02:24May Allah bless you all.
