Special Ops Team Uses Crane to Rescue Patient from 17th Floor of High-Rise Building Under Construction

A person experienced a medical emergency on the 17th floor of a building under construction in Florida, prompting first responders to use a crane they found on site to bring the victim to the ground. On Monday, Feb. 9, members of a special operations team rushed to the 600 block of Quay Commons in Sarasota, the Sarasota County Emergency Services said in a statement. Using their “quick thinking and intricate training,” the high-angle rescue technicians of the Sarasota County Fire Department decided to employ a crane that was at the construction site to lower the patient, who had suffered a fall, safely to the ground.
