Raquel Laguna/ SUCOPRESS. Paris Hilton stars in the documentary INFINITE ICON: A Visual Memoir. In this interview, Paris Hilton talks about why the music is a form of healing and empowerment in her life. The businesswoman and singer also talks about what she learned new about herself during the process of making this documentary. The film traces Paris’s music journey, from her childhood dreams to her club-going adolescence, from her debut album to her musical reinvention, weaving together concert footage, unfiltered moments, archival clips, never-before-seen home videos, original narration, and new interviews. Paris showcases how music “saved her life” following her abuse in troubled teen treatments and by the media in the early 2000’s. Each chapter draws the audience in deeper, blending documentary storytelling with immersive visuals to chart the evolution of a unique pop culture phenomenon. This is Paris’s story, told through music and made unforgettable through the moving image. The film is now on theaters.

00:00I am so proud of my new film, Infinite Icon.
00:05It was such an amazing experience and just also very healing in so many ways, just to
00:14go back and reflect on so much of my life and see how strong I am and everything that
00:20I went through and endured, and now to be able to create this incredible film that really
00:27dives into so much of my life and just be more real and vulnerable than I've ever been.
00:34And I just am so excited for the world to see it when it comes into theatres on January 30th.
00:41This is a trilogy, the first part being This Is Paris, my first documentary, and then through
00:47my memoir where I went even deeper, and now through this film, it really just shows my
00:54life through the lens of music and just how important music has always been to me and
01:00how it's been something that really saved me in my life.
01:04And I really just wanted to go back and show all of that and just show my journey through
01:11music and through everything that I've created from it and so many different parts of my life.
01:18That's why there's so many different chapters to it, and it's just like a—I've never seen
01:25a music documentary like it in my life before.
01:27It's very special.
01:29I really realized it just after being a teenager and everything that I went through in these schools
01:37to come out and just, you know, had been through so much trauma.
01:43And when I would be out at night and be around just music and the clubs and all of that,
01:50it
01:51was like this escape from trauma and pain, and it would just bring me so much happiness
01:56and joy.
01:57And then when I started making my own music and just being in the studio and writing and
02:03creating music and how that was so healing to me.
02:07And then now, through this documentary and just seeing at my concert and looking into
02:12the audience and just seeing how much happiness it brought so many others just proved to me
02:18even more just the power of music.
02:21Having my first concert was so exciting.
02:25I was so nervous because I'm actually a very naturally shy person.
02:31But as soon as I got on stage and just looked out and saw all of my fans there and
02:37just how
02:38excited everyone was and everyone was screaming and singing and crying and dancing and just
02:43having the time of their life and just feeling so much love and energy in the room was just
02:50so magical and just made me realize even more that this is the reason I do what I do and
02:56I
02:57just have the best fans in the world and I just want to show them that through this film
03:02as well.
03:03It's why I dedicated a whole chapter to my fans just so they could know how incredibly
03:08important they are to me and that I love them so much and I've considered them like my family.
03:14I just really looked back on so many things that I went through and I feel like I never really
03:22gave myself the credit of what I survived.
03:26It's been such a journey and I've been through you know so many things that have been extremely
03:34painful but really just showing myself how strong I am and that I can make it through
03:41anything.
03:42And just so proud of everything that I've accomplished in life and how I've always been a trailblazer
03:48and someone who has created their own lane and now to see so many people around the world
03:56who have been inspired by me is extremely empowering.
