00:04What do you make of those three teams? Probably looking at them right now as potentially a two-seed as
00:09you get ready for the conference tournaments and also the NCAA tournament.
00:13Nebraska, too. You know, Purdue, those teams. What do you make of those three?
00:17You know, I've been a little bit down on Purdue all season. Don't get me wrong. I still think this
00:22is a Sweet 16 team, but a lot of people were talking about them as the best team in the
00:25country.
00:26But they're a little bit soft. I mean, I'm not super impressed with how they are physical in terms of
00:30defense.
00:31Also not impressed with the fact that, you know, they just don't have the athleticism to hang with certain teams
00:35on the wing near the bottom of the conference in opponent two-point percentage.
00:41And I think that is a bad recipe for the postseason. Kind of in the same boat for as far
00:46as Illinois goes.
00:47I really do like this team, and it's curious how they're going to look with Boswell back on the floor.
00:51But at the same time, their defense has me a little bit worried looking at that right now.
00:55If I had to compare the two teams, I might give a slight odds. You know, I might give a
00:59slight edge to Illinois.
01:00You're getting a little bit more plus money, you know, backing them to get into the Final Four.
01:03And I think they're just as good as Purdue.
01:06Nebraska's a team that I'm also not completely sold on.
01:09A team that I think if you can get some good value on them, maybe getting into the Sweet 16,
01:13there's value.
01:14But I just don't think they have the high-end talent or the experience at, you know, the higher caliber
01:19of level
01:19to get past some of these other top teams across the country.
01:23Okay, so, you know, I'm a Miami Hurricane guy, so let me go to Miami, Ohio.
01:29I mean, you know, they're undefeated here.
01:31I mean, is it fool's gold?
01:32Are we looking at one of these teams that, you know, they're not really playing power teams right now?
01:38They've got a great record.
01:40But are they a great team?
01:43Yeah, I don't know, to be honest with you.
01:45It's one of those things where I'd be a little bit reluctant to trust them because this is a team
01:49that has been relied on shooting.
01:50They shoot extremely well from everywhere on the floor.
01:53And you can get those shots off against lower caliber teams.
01:56You're not going to be able to get those shots off against, you know, SEC powerhouses, Big Ten teams, teams
02:01that can clog up the paint.
02:02So, I mean, I don't think they face a defense that's anywhere near the level they're going to be facing
02:06once they get into the tournament, if they get into the tournament.
02:09And I think, you know, Akron is still going to provide a pretty big test for them when it comes
02:13down to the conference tournament.
02:16Curious to see if the Mac will send two teams to the tourney this year.
02:18I assume it's just going to be one.
02:20So, they're going to need to win out all the way through if they want to make it work.
02:25That Houston team that you mentioned, you know, you go and you look at what Calvin Sampson has done with
02:30that basketball team.
02:31Is this one of the better teams that he's had there at Houston?
02:36I think so.
02:37I mean, we've seen in the past that they're always just, you know, play that suffocating defense.
02:41But in terms of overall depth, in terms of star power, in terms of having someone that can create his
02:46own shot like Kingston Flemings, I don't think we've seen that in a while.
02:49So, I think this is a team that can really get the job done.
02:52And I think they are a little bit more maybe tested than most because they have a really nice blend
02:57of younger talent along with those experienced guys returning.
03:01Guys like Sharp, Jojo Tuggler.
03:03So, I think this is the team that might be able to get the job done.
03:06And I certainly wouldn't count them out to win the national title because I think that, you know, losing in
03:12such a close game last year definitely left a bit of a bitter taste in their mouth entering this season.
03:17So, I think this is the team that might be able to get the job done.
