00:10What we heard this morning was, in truth, not too much in substance a departure of what J.D. Vance's
00:20arguments were last year,
00:21which is enforcing a U.S.-European alliance that is rooted in a cultural norm, a cultural nostalgia.
00:33But there was very little that was said about how that will materially benefit populations, both in the United States
00:42and in Europe.
00:48Yes, you know, I think in Secretary Rubio's remarks, he spoke greatly about the border, I think, in order to
00:59prevent speaking about the true elephant in the room, which is ICE.
01:02And I do believe that when we have eras of extreme inequality, eras of where the working class is continuing
01:13to suffer, they're seeing their life erode,
01:15it becomes extremely easy for authoritarians to blame other cultures and other people who are most vulnerable.
01:23Now, we have to always make sure that our immigration system is orderly.
01:33On Greenland, you know, I think that the president, my concern is that the president's oftentimes, as of late,
01:44the president's actions on foreign policy, and particularly his most erratic decisions,
01:50the unacceptable threatening of Greenland, happened to be tied to his domestic politics.
01:57And when he feels threatened domestically.
02:00And I believe that's a relationship that is something that Americans see play out.
02:07It doesn't just serve the elites and the biggest corporations,
02:10but actually focuses on working class Americans in conflict,
02:14that has cost Americans trillions of dollars, thousands of dollars.
02:18We've been spending the last couple of days reassuring our friends, talking about our mutual, shared interests,
02:26and that Americans back home actually want to be a force for good in the world.
02:32We don't want to be a bully.
02:35Yes, we want strength and we want peace,
02:38but we don't want to be extorting and bullying our friends.
02:42We want to be a force for good.
02:45We need a national security and foreign policy that looks like...
02:51A kinetic strike against Iran often has the exact opposite response than we want, right?
02:59If the goal is to support the people of Iran and their aspiration for freedom and democracy and sovereignty,
03:09which is what they are yearning for and what they are protesting and mobilizing for right now,
03:15then we have to listen to the people of Iran.
03:17And what's very clear and what we have seen, the pattern is,
03:22is that when we've interfered in that recently, that has had the opposite effect, right?
03:29It actually has created a rally around the flag effect in Iran and emboldened the regime.
03:35...by everything that the conventional wisdom...
03:39...to provide everything that the conventional wisdom...
