00:00Clemson goes to Duke, where, oh boy, well, I might be up against it, J.Y., because this Blue Devils
00:08team is, I'm sure they're going to be ready for this one, right?
00:14I'm sure that this Duke team is going to embarrass Clemson.
00:20No, I'm not. I love Clemson here. I really like Clemson here, J.Y.
00:24But before we get into those specifics, how do you feel about this Duke team?
00:30Third-best odds pretty much anywhere you look to win a national championship, fourth in the AP poll.
00:35Right now on Ken Palm, they sit with the third-best net ranking.
00:40How do you feel about the Duke Blue Devils?
00:45I feel not as good as I felt about them last year, where I thought they were a sure-fire
00:52Final Four team.
00:55Because I think they're not as – they don't have the offensive firepower, right?
00:59Obviously with Cooper Flagg and Conn Kniepel.
01:02Kevin, I've always felt like it's hard in this modern day of college basketball
01:10to win a national championship and win six games in a row when your best player is big.
01:15Now, this is no disrespect to Cam Boozer.
01:19In fact, I like Cam Boozer to go over 32 and a half points, rebounds, and assists for the game.
01:24But if you start to look and dig back – and I'm just going in a break, but I can't
01:30remember –
01:31I mean, maybe we'll go back to the Kentucky teams where their best player that won a national championship
01:38was a center or a power forward.
01:40It's usually a guard, a wing player.
01:43So although you've got guys like Isaiah Evans, who I – you know, big fans, Kendall Foster.
01:47I'm not saying these guys can't play.
01:49It's a big difference between that and Conn Kniepel and Cooper Flagg
01:53as your guys in the backcourt or guys with the ball in their hands and a perimeter on the floor.
01:59I agree with you.
02:00I don't – I'm not betting this game.
02:02I'm a little leery of the point spread here.
02:07But to me, if there's anything you look at is the fact of this –
02:11and this is kind of where I'm going, kind of back where I said to you before.
02:14If you look at what I talked about last segment, right, and now you go to this game, right,
02:21tempo, tempo, tempo.
02:22The only way the Cubs can keep this game close, grind it down, physical,
02:28force Duke into late clock, don't let Duke get runouts off of turnovers,
02:33and milk the game down.
02:35That's the only way I see this happening, right?
02:39So to me, if you are thinking Clemson could be in the mix in regards to keeping this game close,
02:46then you've got to play under, folks.
02:47You can't take the over and say Clemson's going to be able to keep with Duke offensively.
02:52It's just not going to happen.
02:53Coach is going to slow this game down.
02:55My best play for this game, if I take anything, would be to under
02:58and see that Clemson kind of drags this game down a little bit.
03:02So I don't mind the under look at all.
03:04I just want to zoom back to Duke.
03:07It's interesting just the concept of a big man being the driving force, JY.
03:13You know, Edie obviously got close.
03:15They didn't break through.
03:16You could probably argue Adama Sonogo was the best player on the first UConn team,
03:20but they were very deep, and that's actually what I would rather focus on.
03:25I've talked to different people, and I've gotten different opinions on this.
03:29I think Cam Boozer is brilliant.
03:34I think that he actually has been, you could argue, as good as Cooper Flagg.
03:41You could actually statistically argue he's been better than Cooper Flagg.
03:44You actually could argue he has statistically been better than Cooper Flagg.
03:48But the problem is how good last year's team was behind that.
03:54Was that, look at how good Khan Kanipal is.
03:57It's not just that.
03:59If Kaman Malawach was on the floor, that was just, you had multiple NBA guys
04:04and then a legit 7-2 center.
04:06Shout out to Suns for not playing Kaman Malawach for some reason.
04:10Patrick Ngbana, who's one of the better players on this Duke team right now,
04:13was kind of riding the bench for last year's Duke team.
04:17We saw the guard play they got from Proctor, right?
04:21We saw Sion James, who, again, is a legitimate NBA contributor.
04:25Like, this team's turning to Caleb Foster in big moments.
04:29Caleb Foster couldn't crack last year's rotation.
04:31So, I look at this Duke team, and the story, JY, is one of it's Cam Boozer
04:40and probably not enough around him.
04:43And it doesn't mean that Damesar can't be an NBA guy.
04:48It doesn't mean that Isaiah Evans isn't an intriguing shooter at the next level.
04:53But this team feels wildly far away from last year's team,
05:00who ultimately fell short.
05:02It would be silly to say that Duke can't win a national championship
05:09because when you have the best player in the country, I think you can.
05:11But there has not really been a moment where I have fallen in love with this team
05:17and felt like they were the bunch to get it done.
