Thomas Tuchel says the decision to extend his England contract was “very straightforward” and that he has not been pining for a quick return to the club game.The German’s future was set to be the subject of constant speculation before and during this summer’s World Cup, but on Thursday he was handed a contract through to the end of the 2028 European Championship on home soil.
