00:01The Corn Hits Eye Eyes is where the sequence is really all about.
00:04The chibi eyes. That concept originated in anime.
00:08We have these girls that have very high fidelity models with textures,
00:12so making sure that we could get that gag into like a 3D context
00:16and have it feel cohesive and read was definitely a big question mark.
00:20Can we make this concept that worked in storyboards
00:23and gets a big laugh in the story room work in this beauty lighting?
00:27We figured if we could do this sequence, we could do anything.
00:32I love that you're eating. That feels very Spongebob, that show.
00:35There's many versions of that that we did.
00:37What would that sound like?
00:39What would it feel like?
00:40Yeah, is there like a tremor to the voice that matches the speed of the popcorn?
00:44This is an illusion on several fronts.
00:46If you rotate, like see Zoe from the side here, obviously she's got no eyes
00:49and that's like this floating cards, little patches masking out her.
00:53One set of eyes to reveal a version of her head that has no eyeballs at all
00:57and then the mouth is like a false room floating like a foot in front of the face.
01:02Like you can see, the mouth is even floating off the surface
01:04three-dimensionally from the side there.
01:06And then the lighting team had to figure out
01:07how to comp that as if it was being hit by the same rays.
01:10I'm looking for it for almost 10 years.
