A male student, who at the time of the incident was a Form One transitional class pupil, pleaded not guilty at the High Court in Shah Alam, Selangor, on Thursday (Feb 12) to a charge of murdering a 16-year-old female student in a stabbing incident at a secondary school in Bandar Utama last October, Sinar Harian reports.

00:01A 15-year-old boy pleaded not guilty at the High Court in Shah Alam on Thursday
00:06to murdering a 16-year-old girl in a secondary school in Banda Utama last October.
00:12The accused, a Form 1 transitional class student at the time,
00:16allegedly killed the Form 3 student in the girl's toilet between 9.20am and 9.35am on October 14, 2025.
00:26The victim was believed to have been stabbed multiple times.
00:30The accused entered his plea after the charge was read in Mandarin before Justice Datuk Adlin Abdul-Majid.
00:38The charge under Section 302 of the Penal Code carries the death penalty,
00:43or 30 to 40 years imprisonment and up to 12 strokes of the cane if the death sentence is not
00:50imposed.
00:51Defence counsel Kit Sun Fung said his client understood the charge and claimed trial.
00:55The court fixed March 6 for case management, with the trial expected to last 14 days, likely in July.
01:03Only the prosecution and defence teams will be allowed in open court.
01:08Watching brief counsel for the Malaysian Bar and Suhakam may attend proceedings in chambers,
01:13but the victim's family's counsel was not permitted as family members may be called as witnesses.
01:19The accused is being held at the Puncak Alam Correctional Centre for Juveniles.
01:24A psychiatric report previously found him fit to stand trial.
