Epstein presented himself as a billionaire financier with connections to politicians, royalty, scientists, and celebrities. However, much of his actual source of wealth remains unclear and controversial.

He cultivated relationships with:

High-profile politicians

Business tycoons

Academics and scientists

Members of royal families

These connections later fueled conspiracy theories and public outrage.

00:00Do you think you're the devil himself?
00:02I don't know. Why would you say that?
00:03I have nothing to do with Jeffrey Epstein.
00:05I threw him out of my club many years ago
00:07because I thought he was a sick pervert.
00:09President Trump signed the Epstein Files Transparency Act.
00:13Todd Blanch, the Deputy Attorney General,
00:16gave a statement to the public saying that they were releasing
00:19as many files as they could related to the Epstein files.
00:23He stood up and started giving his press conference,
00:25and as he was doing so, you know,
00:27three million documents were dropping on the Justice Department website.
00:31This is three million PDFs, documents, images, videos,
00:35bank statements, flight logs, emails.
00:37I never went to the island. I never met any women.
00:40Some of the most shocking revelations,
00:41most extraordinary revelations, which we have to stress,
00:44we haven't been able to independently verify,
00:47are about Bill Gates, the billionaire Microsoft co-founder.
00:51What we see in the email is Epstein in first person
00:54describing how he helped kind of bail out Bill Gates at certain times.
00:58There's even a suggestion that he was asking Epstein's advice
01:00on how to surreptitiously give his then-wife, Melinda French-Gates,
01:05a course of antibiotics.
01:07Obviously, this is all extraordinary,
01:09coming from, you know, one of the richest and most powerful men in the world.
01:14Do you regret the whole friendship with Epstein?
01:20Now? Still not.
01:22So it hasn't been very good news for Andrew.
01:24You have these pictures of Andrew sort of kneeling on the floor
01:28over this woman whose face has been blacked out.
01:31I mean, he's in a very compromising position here.
01:33And as we say, photographs speak a million words.
01:36There were other things.
01:37For example, he's sharing what he's admitting in the emails
01:40to be confidential information about Afghanistan.
01:43We obviously know that this was inappropriate in his role
01:46as a kind of trade ambassador for the UK.
01:48We then had a lawyer for one of his alleged victims
01:50come out and say she was the second woman to be trafficked to Andrew.
01:54We also see just how close his ex-wife was as well.
01:58So his ex-wife, Sarah Ferguson,
01:59the language that she uses with Epstein frequently over these years
02:03is very intimate.
02:04So there was a lot of things not just about the Duke,
02:07but also his family in there too.
02:09Mandelson betrayed our country, our parliament and my party.
02:15What was interesting about Mandelson is very different
02:19to Epstein's other associates
02:20because this wasn't a story of sexual abuse or sexual exploitation.
02:25This was purely a financial gain, influence, power,
02:31those sorts of things kind of melding in Epstein's world.
02:35He tried to get away from it before by saying it wasn't a very deep
02:39or meaningful relationship.
02:40And what we see in these files is something very, very different.
02:43And it's difficult to kind of overstate the gravity of this Mandelson affair.
02:46I mean, you have a cabinet minister during a financial crisis
02:50allegedly leaking highly confidential and market-sensitive information
02:54to this Epstein character who's this mega-rich financier.
02:58And I must be stressed at this point, a convicted paedophile.
03:02And many people are describing this as one of the most serious scandals
03:05in British political history.
03:07The crux of this is that so many hundreds of young women
03:11were completely trapped, powerless in a system
03:15that did not listen to what they had to say.
03:18One of the documents that really attracted my attention
03:22and I think has stuck with me since
03:24was this diary written apparently by a young girl
03:28of being sexually trafficked to Epstein
03:30and by Epstein to other people.
03:32And she describes in this kind of visceral detail
03:35in a kind of very teenage language
03:38about being pregnant and carrying Epstein's child.
03:41She then kind of graphically describes giving birth to this child
03:44and then it being taken away from her.
03:46We don't know any more than that.
03:47But the suggestion in it is essentially
03:49that Epstein could and might have had children
03:52that we are not aware of.
03:55There's a suggestion that these kind of very young, vulnerable women
03:58were potentially carrying his children.
04:01But what happened next was unfathomable.
04:04Epstein and Maxwell didn't just abuse her,
04:07they trafficked her to a network of the rich and powerful.
04:11In terms of the victim's response,
04:13a lot of them are glad that this information has come out.
04:16Some of them have found information that helps in their case.
04:19But actually, the kind of most prevailing response has just been horror.
04:23A lot of these files have not been redacted properly.
04:25I can't even imagine that the trauma,
04:27the re-traumatization this has done for these women,
04:31they're pleading now with courts to try and at least
04:33take down some of these documents that have identifying information in them.
04:37But this isn't a victory day for the victims.
04:39We are not asking for pity.
04:42We are here demanding accountability.
04:45And I'm demanding justice.
04:47So on the horizon, we're going to have Galen Maxwell
04:49appearing before the House Oversight Committee
04:52to testify to her relationship to Epstein in the sex trafficking ring.
04:56Galen herself has already said that she's going to plead the Fifth Amendment,
04:59which essentially allows her to say no comment.
05:02It will be interesting nonetheless that she's been brought and subpoenaed.
05:05And if you push forward to the end of February,
05:06we then have Bill and Hillary Clinton who were subpoenaed.
05:11They're going to face questions.
05:12We know that Bill Clinton flew on Epstein's private jet.
05:16We also know that Hillary Clinton employed Galen Maxwell's nephew
05:20in the State Department.
05:21So there's going to be many, many questions that they're going to be fielded.
