00:00Six deaths in the mountains of western Bulgaria have police baffled, with one prosecutor likening
00:06the case to surreal murder mystery series Tween Peaks. Police suspect the deaths may involve
00:10murder followed by suicide, though they could just be suicides. On Sunday, police found three
00:16bodies, including that of a 15-year-old boy, in a camper van near Okolchitsa Peak. Investigators
00:22believe they were linked to a triple killing a week earlier near a mountain hut that was later
00:26burned. Police said five of the dead were members of the National Agency for Control of
00:31Protected Areas, a nature protection NGO. CCTV footage from outside the hut on the day of
00:36the first deaths was played at a news conference. It shows all six people saying goodbye to each
00:42other, and then the tree who stayed behind, setting the hut on fire. Police cited a relative
00:48of one member who spoke of exceptional psychological instability within the group. Shell casings
00:54and guns were found near the bodies, and forensics determined that shots were fired from close
00:58range. Officers later tracked down the other trio, only to find them dead in the camper van.
