00:00So in terms of technology advancements, in terms of cutting edge tech, what are you most excited, most surprised about by the offerings here at this year's World Defense Show from Lockheed Martin, but maybe from the other offerings as well from what you've seen?
00:16Sure. Well, certainly one of the most exciting things this year is this is the first time we've brought the F-35 to the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia. So that just by itself is a pretty major step forward. We're excited about having a life-size mock-up of it and also a cockpit simulator to show people how it operates.
00:33That is exciting. I mean, that's going to be a bit of a headline grabber.
00:36I think so. I think so. It speaks for itself almost.
00:38It does indeed. Talk us through Lockheed Martin's role in the Kingdom and what opportunities, maybe what challenges you foresee with regard to the Kingdom's Vision 2030 and the localization goal of a lot of defense spending.
00:54Yeah, so we've embraced this and it's actually a really exciting story.
01:00What I'd like to say is we used to sell things here, but now we manufacture things here and sustain things here.
01:05And it's almost more important first to sustain things.
01:09So we've helped and are helping to develop MROs, which are maintenance, repair and overhaul facilities, because a country can have the best defense articles in the world.
01:17But if they break and they have to send them back to the U.S. or some other country, then they're not going to be ready.
01:23So we're teaching them how to do that here with some of our advanced systems.
01:28And then as it relates to actually manufacturing, that's the next step.
01:31So we're starting to manufacture a number of key components.
01:35For example, the THAAD missile system.
01:37It's the most advanced integrated air and defense system in the world, which the Kingdom now has four batteries.
01:45So we've manufactured the launcher here and also the canister.
01:48And then we're doing a number of other things as well.
01:50We've just opened a software factory, which we're really excited about because most defense systems, you almost can look at them like an iPhone.
01:59They have apps, and so that's how we're integrating and tying them all together.
02:04You're welcome.
