00:00In the Caribbean, domestic violence is very prevalent, you know, neighbors around.
00:05And as a man, I always question why I would love to turn into hate.
00:10And when I went into the filmmaking, to be a filmmaker, I always ask myself, you know, what is my why?
00:16That's what is my why, right?
00:18Yes.
00:19And my why for me is I want to tell stories that impact society.
00:22I want to use my gift to tell stories that can create change within our society.
00:26So domestic violence for me is very important because if the women are not OK, the children are not OK and generational and then our society becomes a mess.
00:38Sure. Yeah, let's give that a round of applause.
00:41That's truth right there.
00:42I can relate to that as an actress from South Africa, I understand the purpose in storytelling.
00:48But we're facing a femicide in South Africa at the moment called GBV, gender based violence.
00:54And this is at the core of it.
00:56So thank you for fulfilling your role, your purpose, your why, because we need more stories that are truthful.
