00:00You can define success in many different ways.
00:06I'm successful when I have a reader who said,
00:12well, I read your books to my mom in hospice.
00:17Or, we read your books when we were doing dialysis.
00:23Or, I'm at a signing and y'all come up to me and say,
00:27can you talk to my mom on the phone?
00:30And I, of course, say yes.
00:34So, yeah, you can measure success by, you know, how many Cadillacs you got,
00:39which I don't have, you know, any.
00:41But to get that feedback and to feel yourself touched by readers
00:48and what their books mean in their lives,
00:51that's a different kind of success, and I'll take that anytime.
