Après la grave blessure de Lindsey Vonn, victime d'une chute terrible lors de la descente, certains observateurs ont laissé entendre que le CIO aurait dû empêcher la championne de 41 ans participer, en raison de sa rupture du ligament croisé antérieur du genou gauche. Mais pour le Diecteur des sports de l'instance, Pierre Ducrey, en aucun cas cette décision ne pouvait revenir au CIO.

00:04but I think it's clear in the downhill, we give athletes opportunities to train,
00:09to make sure that they are able to go down the slope in the way that it should be for all the athletes.
00:15So that happened, she was able to train and made the choice with the excellent team that she has to take part.
00:22So from that point of view, I don't think we can say that she should or shouldn't have participated.
00:28This decision was really hers and her team to take.
00:31She made the decision and unfortunately it led to the injury,
00:35but I think it's really the way that the decision gets made for every athlete that participates to the downhill.
