00:00The job of MBDA is to go out there and help meet people where they are small, mid-sized, large businesses.
00:06We don't care what size you are. We want you all to grow.
00:09We want you to create wealth for yourself so that you can create wealth for your families and communities.
00:14Part of the job creation effort that we have is helping these minority businesses access capital, contracts, and networks.
00:21Because we know those three things are the things that prevent minority businesses from scaling in the pace that they want to.
00:25And I flag this because capital is a big lever that we have, right?
00:31And we talk about capital in a new environment.
00:34MBDA, thanks to Chairwoman Waters, is able to be a part of that $10 billion capital fund of SSBCI.
00:40But we also have a new environment that we're operating in.
00:43The United States Department of Commerce has over $125 billion of above-base funding.
00:48The United States federal government has over $2 trillion, that's with a T, trillion dollars of above-base funding.
00:54I know this because I worked really hard with a chairwoman on a lot of that money.
00:59We worked on these things because we want to make sure that minority businesses around this country are able to tap into that.
