Liverpool FC has formally applied to expand and upgrade its long-established academy site in Kirkby. The proposals are now being considered by Knowsley Council.

00:12pitch and a new spectator stand. The site on Arbour Lane has been the club's youth training
00:17home since the late 1990s. Nolesley Council says the plans appear broadly acceptable,
00:24subject to supporting information. The academy supports players from under-9s to under-21s,
00:30Liverpool hopes the redevelopment will enhance facilities, support community use and be
00:35completed by 2028. Officials say further details will be assessed before any final planning decision
00:42is finalised.
