Max Space expandable habitat technology could reduce costs and maximize space...in space.

00:00The International Space Station took 60 launches and $100 billion to make.
00:18Unless we make usable space in space a lot less expensive and much, much larger,
00:24humanity's future in space will remain limited.
00:30My first company, Made in Space, pioneered the first in-space manufacturing.
00:36But I quickly realized if we were ever going to bring real commercialization to space,
00:40we needed a lot more volume.
00:42Expandables are the only comprehensive solution that allowed this to be possible.
00:47And no one in the world knows space expandables better than Maxim.
00:51I built the first two inflatable, deployable spacecraft, Genesis 1 and 2,
00:56and they're still circling the globe to this day.
01:00Despite the success, we needed still a much bigger size.
01:04We developed a proprietary expandable architecture.
01:08It decomposes the pressure shell into discrete uncoupled structural elements.
01:13It means that we can double, triple, quadruple the size of our architecture with full predictability.
01:20Our expandables at MaxSpace are safer and stronger than standard metallic architecture.
01:26We've tested our modules to the limit.
01:28We exploded them, launched projectiles at them, vibe-tested, vacuum-tested, exposed them to space's harshest conditions.
01:36Our MaxSpace modules are bigger, easier to manufacture, and more scalable than other systems.
01:42We just finished our full fidelity ground unit and are now building our flight unit,
01:46which will be the largest expandable habitat to ever go to space.
01:50The cost of launching to space is dropping dramatically.
01:53But without access to more volume, the potential of space remains out of our grasp.
01:58Our mission is to unlock a new frontier for humanity.
02:01This will enable new drugs to be created in space, revolutionary space-farming technologies,
02:07removing heavy industry's limitations on Earth, and a new type of entertainment.
02:12Everything we do stems from one goal, more volume, less cost.
02:22We get orders of magnitude more volume per rocket.
02:26That means one ISS at less than 1% of the cost.
02:31MaxSpace was created to maximize space in space in a way that's never been possible before.
02:42The same system for us is to complete the next step and move the risk for a quest.
02:45If you're going to take care of each other, you can pick up the next step and move the last step and move the next step.
02:48If you explain something like that, this is what's needed.
02:51Even though you don't find that, this is what you need to go up to space.
02:53Name yourself in space in space.
02:55The next step we've got to enter space in space.
02:57The next step is to allow you, Libra a more volume of daily space in space.
02:59The next step is to cover up the next step with the existence of the body.
03:01If you can explore the space, you can see that if you want to reach the next step.
03:03For you to favour the next step, you'll find a place where you want to risk.
