00:04world to make it more equitable, you have to understand how these different
00:08themes come together to shape what happens. If we want to have more
00:13inclusive movements, we have to have an intersectional lens. So one of the
00:18projects that Say Her Name attempts to advance is an understanding that
00:23anti-black police violence actually impacts black people of all genders, not
00:28just one. So we understood after the killing of Mike Brown that yes, police
00:36violence is a particular risk to the lives of African-American men. It is also a
00:41risk to the lives of African-American women.
