00:00what's going on everybody happy sunday are y'all too quiet let's try this again happy sunday
00:10everybody there we go there we go i want to welcome you guys back to essence food and wine
00:16i was here yesterday had a blast i'm back again my name is sheree nicole i'm the branded video
00:21content producer here at essence also a host as well and i'm excited to bring you guys today
00:26sip and spill i'm spilling a little tea with my sister did i do that right yes you did singer
00:33writer social media sensation you may remember her from love and hip-hop wildin out she's on
00:40dish nation she's everywhere she's also my cancerian sister who has a birthday coming up
00:45on july 6th without further ado the amazing jesse woo give it up hey y'all happy sunday happy it's
00:54the lord's day and i know you don't play about the lord i don't play about jesus and that's why
00:59i'm having communion amen amen yes god so i gotta ask you jesse i mean i talked about your versatility
01:07just a moment ago and everything that you that you do well but i do want to ask you as somebody who
01:12has burst out on the scene as a social media sensation we saw you initially loving hip-hop as
01:17well how does it feel for you or how difficult was it for you to be fully seen because you've been an
01:22artist you've been an amazing singer but now i feel like people are really starting to understand
01:26and come along with you in that journey how did that work out for you i don't feel like i'm fully
01:30seen yet oh expound on that yeah like i still have a lot to do i feel like i don't know i don't know
01:36that's a cancer thing but i'm just never like satisfied with anything maybe that's an immigrant
01:41thing i don't know it's like i'm never satisfied with everything and i feel like i have so much
01:46more to do like a lot of people still don't know that i sing a lot of still a lot of people still
01:52don't know that like i am on while now or like it's just sometimes it takes time there's so much
01:57content out there there's so many people out there with platforms so everybody doesn't always gravitate
02:02to you immediately so it's gonna take some more time i'm gonna put some pressure on you because i
02:07want you to give yourself some flowers and i know that that feel might feel a little strange but i think
02:11too as when you're a successful business woman you're always aiming for the next thing you're very
02:16ambitious sometimes you don't stop to celebrate yourself what's one thing right now that you can
02:21note and say i'm proud of me well damn i'm proud i took a shower this morning i'm proud i took a
02:30shower this morning let me tell you why it is so hot it is so hot this heat has been killing me and
02:38you know we've all been working essence is so much fun but last night the misty concert kind of took me
02:43out and i didn't know if i was gonna be able to like i was gonna literally like just roll out of
02:48bed just roll in here like i was gonna listen y'all just gonna get what i give y'all like so i'm proud
02:53that i took a shower no but i'm also proud that uh i keep going yeah i'm proud that i always keep
03:00going even when i fail even when i fall i stumble i always get back up it may hurt i may cry but i
03:07always get back up facts on that so you talk about being proud you're also very proud of your
03:12haitian roots yes you are you don't make it it's literally a point seemingly in everything that you
03:18do which i love but why why is it so important for you to make sure that people understand from a
03:23cultural perspective where you come from and how you move as a result of that man like make some
03:28noise for haitians like there's a lot of hello okay but um i think first of all we're in new
03:38orleans there's so much haitian history here in new orleans i feel like there's so much creole people
03:43here who don't know they have haitian ancestors i just met someone like two hours ago and she was
03:48like yeah baby you know my grandma now they won't from heading you know like but she doesn't know
03:53because she didn't have that connection she didn't spend time with her grandparents and stuff so i
03:58think it's important and also like we all need to pay attention to black countries and what's
04:04happening in black countries like not just haiti haiti's right there right but also like
04:10there's so much going on like in nigeria so much going on in the congo right now so much going on in
04:15the um guinea like it's so much going on these black countries and we need to be connected to that
04:21and i think the way america's moving we need to start thinking about what's going to be our utopia
04:27facts okay what we gonna do i remember like there was a time in history when black americans said you
04:34know what we're gonna make liberia our utopia you know i mean like we need to go back to that so
04:38that's why i'm gonna always let people know i'm haitian i'm haitian i'm haitian i'm haitian you
04:42should always be proud of where you come from yes so um i want to shift a little bit to dating
04:47because this we're spilling tea it's a sip and spill okay you can take we both just do it if you
04:53have a drink in your hand just take a sip for us as well all right here we go so wow i heard this
05:00is some good ass um rose is yeah so i heard you're a fan of reality yes dating yes shows as i am so i
05:10would like to be on married at first sight no no if you could pick a show i do i do no i don't have
05:16anywhere else to go okay that's it for me okay there's no other options but for you if you could
05:22be on a reality dating television show what would it be and why man i would love to host one okay but
05:29if i did have to pick one i would do it would be it would either be love is blind or uh temptation
05:38island do y'all watch temptation island that shit is crazy wait a minute so you giving me the side
05:43that from married at first sight and you want to go on love is not come on now let me tell you what
05:47married at first sight you got to get married at first sight like you have to actually sign the
05:52paperwork and then if you don't um work out you got to get divorced there was one season totally no
05:59there was one girl there was one season i can't remember her name but they had hooked up with a whole
06:03scammer that man ain't had no job no nothing lord nothing jesus he just came in there with his
06:08turd field draw and then when it was time to divorce he wouldn't allow he wouldn't sign the
06:15divorce so it was crazy like she had to like sue him or something so i don't know like
06:19married at first sight um you don't know about that but love is blind i could do that i could do that
06:25you also apparently could do medium ugly men yes that is your dating preference but those does
06:32anybody know what a medium ugly man is raise your hand if you we got some hands in the house but
06:38those who don't know please clarify you gotta first it's two type of man that i like it's two type of
06:43means i like medium ugly or i like a fine man who don't know he fine okay does that make sense
06:51medium ugly it's like he ugly but he got a little swag to him you know what i'm saying like you know
07:00he like you need like a cute little reptile or something like that i don't know but i also like
07:05a fine man who doesn't like act fine because the thing is sometimes even the ugly guys be acting fine
07:11it's like okay now delusional now wait a minute now hold on now it's social media yeah hold on now
07:15but it's hard for me to actually even find somebody ugly my friends say all the time just you think
07:19everybody look good i do i think everybody looks good i really don't have a type i think i'm more
07:25of a personality okay that you really gotta look like god like got interrupted by lightning when he
07:31was making you for me to find you ugly like it really takes a lot for me to find you ugly like for
07:36okay so let's let's move into then being that you're in the spotlight being that you're looking for
07:43your medium ugly king what is dating like for you oh god if at all when we've had conversations but
07:51where you at right now you know i live in atlanta and i got to that's why i have a tear that's coming
07:57down the side of my right eye anybody in atlanta hey y'all are y'all are y'all tired are y'all tired
08:09yeah make some noise if you're tired i'm dating in atlanta my god the thing about dating in atlanta
08:14right now everybody dates the same 10 african niggas like everybody date the same 10 african niggas
08:21it's crazy right and so like literally literally this is so true one of my friends her boyfriend who's
08:31african right she came home to go see her boyfriend they both lived in my bed and they both know they're
08:38together they both know they're together now she went downstairs to go to her apartment his real
08:45girlfriend showed up no beat her wig off and took her rolex like it was crazy i said okay this is the
08:54jungle dating over here so i don't know like everybody's dating the same africans um i don't
08:59know what's going on i think i've done like dating apps okay i did meet me a little white man last year
09:05okay what happened to him well um what had happened well he was cool but okay so he wanted to have like
09:16horizontal soak-a-time okay okay and i was like okay i don't i've never had like pink meat you know
09:22right i was like i don't know and then he was like well it's not pink like that so then he showed it to
09:29me and i was like sir this is a highlighter pink uh so i couldn't do it i'm gonna need god to kind of
09:36you know maybe i'll try like a asian first i don't know but i love i love black guys i love black men i
09:42just do i love black men they taste good they taste seasoned you know what i'm saying it's different
09:48like even the kissing was different like black men lips they taste like i don't know like crisco you
09:56know what i'm saying it's like a familiar fellas make some noise do we have any gentlemen in the
10:02house we do love y'all black men just taste good they taste good they smell good i'm not putting him
10:08in the spotlight hey crisco um no but like black men they just they taste good they smell good
10:16they just have a way about them yeah and also they're familiar i am open-minded okay i am open-minded
10:24to date outside my race and i have tried um but it's just something about black men
10:30it's just something about the black man he he tastes good he tastes seasoned he smell good
10:36you know he wash his legs you know i'm saying stuff like sometimes he puts lotion on sometimes yeah
10:41you know so i love black men i love it so you love black men let's say you're dating a black man yeah
10:48what what does the timeline look like for you to go official like to let twitter instagram social
10:54media the whole world know that you're taking what does that timetable look like if we hunch we go
10:59together so i'm just letting you know that right now if we hunch because i'm a church girl i am do
11:04know i'm saying i know i talk a lot of zozo snack and all that but if i let you hunch you is my man
11:09i'm serious okay what what if he what if he doesn't agree with that then what happens that's not his
11:15choice i'm from miami i don't play that don't play with me no but i really feel like that's something
11:23i'm still trying to gauge yeah i think like dating nowadays is so weird i remember like when i was in
11:32college right you went on a couple days by like two and a half months three months you y'all was
11:39together now it's like everybody has so many options everybody has a wandering eye now i gotta
11:45like split i gotta poke your eyes out you know what i'm saying it takes them about a year or two just
11:50yeah it's like it's a lot like i think it's just so much and we just have too many options like even
11:57me as a woman like sometimes i do feel like social media sometimes will make you feel like you have
12:02all these options but when you go out with people the conversation is not good you know i mean like
12:09it's not a good time so i don't know and i feel like people are just afraid of commitment nowadays
12:14y'all don't want to commit y'all are scared which i get it i have i have anxiety yeah i have a little
12:20bit of anxiety because i do feel like when i this is weird but when i have expressed that i like somebody
12:26like it's weird like a guy will gauge me and then when i express that i like them back it's like
12:31okay now i want you to chase me like i don't get it with guys like it's like it's just weird so
12:37any of the fellas in here answer does anybody have any clarity to it's weird like do y'all find we're
12:42talking to do y'all we love you we talk we're talking to each other but we're actually talking
12:47to you as well yeah so i hope you say i hope you take a note like ladies do y'all feel like
12:51sometimes i gotta chase a guy yeah it's like and i don't i can't this gentleman here said supply and
12:57demand oh see okay see i can't chase you i'm not an athlete i'm not a runner i am and i'm still not
13:04okay hallelujah let's move to some music a little bit yeah before they kick us out of here uh first of
13:11fall everybody clap it up 50 years of hip hop 50 years yeah um for you how has hip hop really influenced
13:20your music oh wow i think lyricism i think lyricism like even me like you know most of my music is like
13:28in creole french but even that like i'll be like metaphoric yeah uh i love missy elliot i love like
13:37she's one of my favorites i she's a cancer like us i love how she always talked about sex but she
13:42was clever about it yeah yeah like it took me years to realize some lyrics but then like i remember
13:49last night thinking to myself wow missy elliot really got on the microphone and said pussy don't
13:55feel me now like come on we've all been there pussy don't feel me now we've had a pussy don't feel me now
14:03you one of those people that sing people songs better than them i do that's what you don't feel me
14:08now i really had like a recently i had a moment like that oh okay without you know how to say okay
14:15okay i'm gonna give you i'm gonna give you what happened i'm gonna give you a pussy don't feel me now
14:19moment that's like every women's in here can relate to
14:24when you know it's about to come on but it's playing with you so you're like all right
14:34i got a little bit of leeway here let me see what i can do before the drip start
14:40drip dropping you know what i'm saying that's a pussy don't feel me now moment
14:45i mean clap it up is that not a pussy don't feel me now
14:48thank you y'all relate don't that's a pussy don't have in here yeah don't do it yeah so it's like
14:54pussy don't feel me now and then like you feel it and then now you can't do it and then oh lord and
15:00then you know we're like in entertainment so sometimes people's schedules don't be lighting
15:04up it's like oh my god i had one night only one night only and my pussy failed me that was it yeah
15:11so yeah i'm like that's a pussy don't feel me now moment yeah definitely what i didn't even know why
15:17we got here but i love it am i lying you are telling the truth okay we go down to the health app on the
15:23iphone we're looking at the schedule yes it's a real thing yes i understand yeah so i try to eat
15:29more vegetables now so i could be regular so yeah so my pussy won't feel me well i i hope that you can
15:38have a better story to tell us in a while i don't know i have no idea but we'll find out when the
15:44edit comes back yeah yeah yeah yeah and all of this is bleeped out and you said it not me so
15:49great intro i know one thing it's a whole lot of pussy it is make some noise if you got one let's go
15:57what is in this glass
16:01we having fun we're drinking wine we're having fun and speaking of fun i want to just find out from you
16:06musically and creatively i mean you're putting out so much heat right now where are you and where
16:10do you hope to go i mean we're halfway through the year where do you have to go as we move through 2023
16:15oh i mean i was shy i was scared for a long time to release music so i did release like coupe recently
16:20and that's doing good thank you for everybody who's like listening to it downloading it um i have a song
16:27that i did with michael bron who's a huge huge huge haitian dj international dj so i'm gonna we're
16:33gonna film that video soon so i could put it out like august and then i i recently did a song with
16:39young willis who's a big nigerian producer out of nigeria and he doesn't have his papers to come here
16:46so what can you do to help well i can't i can't however you know my llc not set up for that yet
16:54however i'm i can't go there so we're going to explore me going there and shooting a video there
16:59it's a really really good song it's a piano vibe really good it's french it's creole i think it's
17:05going to be really good especially not just for like caribbean and haitians but also there's so
17:09many french-speaking countries in africa and also i like how here in america people are gravitating
17:17once more to caribbean sounds african sounds like that's all black music like black music is black music
17:24we should all be familiar with hip-hop reggae compa all that like we all have to know about that
17:31because that's our roots so yeah okay so speaking of roots we've talked business woman that you go
17:39we go from talking about women's time of the month to slavery only with you i love roots
17:46so we've talked about you know being a business woman being successful we've talked about femininity
17:51we've talked about you know you're just your creative muscles your music so with that being said
17:56three words that describe your journey so far as a woman three words wow uh wow three words jesus
18:07difficult rewarding and
18:13amazing i love it yeah with that said because i like that there's balance to that yeah you know
18:21you say difficult but then you say hey i've had some great moments rewarding so with that said i mean
18:26we have some amazing women and gentlemen yeah in the crowd um a word of advice to to those who
18:33because you've been grinding a long time yeah to those who are pushing to those who may be pivoting
18:38into something different something new yeah um your advice to people who are really in a season where
18:44they're just doing the work and trusting god but really desiring a breakthrough yeah man i i know
18:50it sounds cliche but never give up like literally charlie rouse said something yesterday and i was like
18:54oh my god like it really touched me because i feel like this is where i am i feel like i'm always
19:01catching another wind yeah not a second one i've had my second wind i've had my third wind
19:06like and charlie rouse said man if i don't make it by 30 i'm gonna make it by 40 and i'll make it by 40
19:12i'm gonna make it by 50 and if i don't make it by 50 like as long as you're alive there is still time
19:18for you to do whatever it is that you want to do yeah and the way the world is moving you make your
19:24own decisions you can create whatever you want like i i remember being a young kid and you know
19:31being haitian most of my family members were all nurses doctors lawyer you have to be engineer
19:39and i was like i'm not going to be a doctor lawyer i'm not doing none of that i always knew i wanted a
19:45microphone i just i just did not know what i was going to do with it but i knew i always wanted to do
19:49this and so success is relative what they used to look at success or what they used to look at as
19:56failure now is a success absolutely this is a success me sitting here as a success you know i
20:02mean so you can always do whatever you want to do you can create whatever you want to do the future
20:08belongs to creators literally the future belongs to creators somebody created this yeah this was
20:16somebody's dream so it's never too late for you to dream up another dream it's never too late for
20:21you to create something it's never too late for you to push boundaries in your life never as long
20:27as you have breath in your lungs as long as god wakes you up there is never ever ever too late for
20:33you i love that yeah it's never too late for you all to make sure you keep up with all the amazing
20:37things yeah yeah jesse was doing so i want to let one more time everything you got going on and also how
20:42people stay connected with you as well oh my god so i'm yo i'm meeting so many people who watch this
20:46nation yeah so i'm a co-host on this nation yeah i'm meeting all my aunties like they done stop me
20:53so many times baby baby like i love my aunties like i'm a co-host on this nation with tamar braxton the
21:01brat uh we're on channel seven we're syndicated all over the country head crack tanner uh uh oh my god gary
21:09with the t uh also i'm a while now we have a new season dropping on my birthday july 6th
21:14um yeah i'm releasing music i'm going into filmmaking i have three scripts that i'm working
21:20on right now i sold one so yeah and one of them i really really i have a big dream to create a disney
21:28princess that is my dream i don't want to say too much but i know i'm gonna have a disney princess soon
21:34so those are my dreams i'm dreaming up and you guys can follow me on the jesse woo everywhere i love
21:40it yeah everybody who has a glass if you raise your glass we're gonna toast as we close out first of
21:47all to my cancerian sister whose birthday is july the 6th we're gonna toast much success to you i met
21:53you in 2019 yes i love you dearly it's been so great to see your elevation and uh also toasted to that
22:00princess film yeah disney princess film that's coming out yeah cheers cheers thank you guys so much
